All-Pro Football 2K8 (abbreviated APF2K8) is a football game for seventh generation consoles, and is the symbiotic successor to the ESPN NFL 2K series. APF2K8 is the first football game to be published by 2K Sports since EA Sports purchased exclusive licenses to the intellectual properties of the NFL and NFLPA; the last football game published by 2K Sports was ESPN NFL 2K5. The game will feature players like Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Mike Singletary and Joe Montana. The cover athlete of All Pro Football 2k8 will be former 49er wide receiver Jerry Rice along with former Broncos Quaterback John Elway and former Detriot Lions running back Barry Sanders.

Features
Players won't be rated on the 0-100 scale, instead they will be rated by their style. Each player will have different icons, each one representing a positive or negative trait; for example a QB who is a scrambler, yet fumbles easily. Or a QB who does better in the 4th quarter. Likewise lower rated players will still have some essentially traits. The purpose of this to add more strategy, for example if you have a good quarterback then you would want good pass protecting linemen. Or you if you have fast coverage cornerbacks then you would want hard hitting safeties.

There will be no franchise mode, crib mode, or first person mode.
As of June 8, you will be able to create new players, but no teams. However, you will be allowed to edit team names and player uniforms, as well as the cities in which the teams play.

CPU running backs will now know how to read holes in the offensive line.
Improved AI style, no longer will WR's miss the ball by a few inches because its a little off. Or a CB fails to swat the ball even though they are right under the ball.

More devastating and live injuries. Previously disallowed by the NFL because of its association with violence.

Trash talking is now in the game, (but no curse words) also disallowed by the NFL because it puts words into the mouths of players.

Newer, more extravagant stadiums. Instead of regular NFL stadiums there will be over the top giant stadiums. Each one has a theme of its own team. For example the Rhinos have a gigantic Rhino in their stadium that moves whenever a touchdown is made.

Weather is much more important, creating a slippery or blistering heat style game.
