In Tenchu Seram players can create their own characters via a character editor. Character customizations include : gender, head, torso, bottom, arms, legs, sheath,accessories x2 and balance of health, body weight and strength.
The player recieves orders from Rikimaru. The plot is described as follows: "Rikimaru, who is the head of the Azuma clan receives caution from Lord Gohda that the state of Ogawara seems to be plotting something. Recently they have been catching some momentum and ruling many other states. And soon they will gain unbelieveable strength and fight Gohda."
Two new characters are introduced. They seem to be enemies.
Shigi: A ninja who works under Ogarawa. He has his own plolicy and rules for a life as a ninja. He will never break the rules that he has made for himself as a ninja.
Ogawara Nagayori: A shrewd lord who has much confidence in his power. The son of Aizen Nobumitsu. He feels that the weak are unneeded, worthless objects that don't deserve to live.
The KI-Meter has been upgraded with a sound, smell and light meter.

Tenchu: Shadow Assault Hitting Arcade (via Game Stooge) -- From Software has posted a video showing off Tenchu: Shadow Assault for Xbox Live Arcade.If there was any way to describe it, it’s sort of Bomberman Live - with ninjas.
