Army of Two: A sleeper hit to me.

Last night, my wife was supposed to pick up Battlefield: Bad Company from Blockbuster. She came back home with a different game, Army of Two. At first I was fairly upset. I have read alot of negative stuff about AO2. I even considered not even playing it. Many reviews that I read, blogs or forums, Lent to me the feeling that it'; digg_topic = 'Xbox';

I have read alot of negative stuff about AO2. I even considered not even playing it. Many reviews that I read, blogs or forums, Lent to me the feeling that it sucked, and was a bad game(like Kane and Lynch). I decided to at least get some gamerscore points from it. I was a little leary during the requisite "training" session. From there on, however, I was actually quite pleased. This is a very solid game, with excellent graphics, good frame rate, and tight controls (if a little difficult to catch on to). It has one of the best and most innovative GPS systems of most games that I have played. The story is actually good. I was shocked to see that they had the courage to integrate 9/11and bomb vest wearing Muslims with gruff, gun wielding, half hockey mask wearing mercenaries. To me, that was a gamble. Many people are not ready for 9/11 to be part of a story arc in a video game. I was pleased with the dynamic lighting. There was a pretty cool gun upgrade system as well. I think this game would warrant a sequel. Grant it, I am only on the second level, but am initially impressed. It re-invigorates the way that I game. I am so used to word of mouth as what NOT to play, that I forget that alot of times some people would hate a game, because they may lack the ability to like anything, because they don't like themselves. That said I do understand that typically a consensus is accurate. If most people think that a game is a let down, it usually is. But AO2 is an exception. I even like the music(score) of the game.

 | Posted: 5 months ago I disagree with u guys. This game is terrible. The only reason that the title of this blog says a sleeper hit is because it should only be in the 360 when ur sleeping. Its not right to play this awake. |

I dont really see myself giving it COD4 or GTA4 time, but it is a good game. a bit linear. but so was GOW. actaully this game borrows alot of stuff from GOW, and looks just as good graphically, IMO. the training part did throw me off, it just reeked boring, but oncfe you get in to it, its a fun game. --------------------------------- semper ubi sub ubi |

 | Posted: 5 months ago Great graphics? The character models were amazing but the level environments looked awful to me. That game is a 3 day rental at best. Don't even ask about MP.
