I recently purchased battlefield: bad company gold edition. since it comes with 5 guns i'm thinking i would get the five guns from the demo. which if you don't know are unlock as follows:
1. pre-order bad company (sniper rifle)
2. become a battlefield veteran (prove you've played 2 or more previous battlefiled'; digg_topic = 'Xbox';
I recently purchased battlefield: bad company gold edition. since it comes with 5 guns i'm thinking i would get the five guns from the demo. which if you don't know are unlock as follows:
1. pre-order bad company (sniper rifle)
2. become a battlefield veteran (prove you've played 2 or more previous battlefiled games) (assault riffle)
3. check your stats online (semi-automatic shotgun)
4. sign up for the newsletter (heavy machine gun)
5. reach level 4 in the demo (smg)
Easy enough right?
Wrong!
First off, it gave me 5 guns I could have unlocked eventually on my own at level 25!!
Secondly, since i didn't pre-order (-1 gun). can't prove i'm a veteran (-1gun). checked stats online (+1 gun). reached level 4 in demo (+1 gun). and finally the newsletter. got an error during sign up (-1 gun).
So lets add it up we start with 5 and end up with only 2!!!
Now wouldn't it have made more sense for EA to just give everyone who bought gold edition the guns from the demo instead of giving me guns i could have just unlocked myself? Oh wait sense and EA. right, enough said!
Blog Response: ea does it again Posted: 4 months ago how about just giving the guns from the get go, and quite trying to force feed marketing ideas to us. make a lag free game, with a good framerate, sell it to us. let us play it. thats all. BTW, Citog, is the game any good??? i have played the beta and demo, i enjoyed the single player demo, but the multiplayer was cool BUT. i spent ALOT of time running running running...trying to get 2 the action. the MOMENT that I would get a tank, it would be targeted from a sniper. Posted: 3 months ago EA always has problems with on-line play when their game comes out. they need to tighten that up since it is an on-going problem.The problem with Pre-Order incentives that involve in game content that "is unlocked" is that no matter what scheme they come up with they are going to alienate someone. For example, the guy who didn't Pre-Order, actually picks up the game 6 months later and can't therefore get the gun everyone else is running around with. God forbid that EA make this person pay real world money to unlock it. But if someone pre-orders the games for the "extra" guns then they take it home and find out that they have to or could have earned them through play will get bent out of shape. Anyone have a solution that make everyone happy? I personally don't believe that you can make everyone happy but I'll ask just incase. --------------------------------- "Shall we play a game?"
Posted: 3 months ago i like it but i find there is a learning curve. also people need to stop playing as individuals and start playing as a squad!!!--------------------------------- Come with me, and we will conquer the world together!! Just don't forget your avatar!!
Posted: 3 months ago I have a solution Senor Hurt. Just put the guns in the game as unlockables. That way it doesn't matter when you purchase the game you are still able to use the guns when you have unlocked them. It's a marketing ploy to get extra money from consumers, and it's the kind of tactics that consumers get sick of and backlash about.--------------------------------- Gamer Tag - Tha Sentinal.
