There are 5 days until Bungie Day. There is an opportunity for the community to rack up 7 billion (with a B) kills in the Campaign by July 7th (7/7). For those who aren't as big a Halo nerd as I am ( I've read every novel and am dropping hints to my wife to buy me the new one that is coming out soon) the number is a special number in the Halo Universe. It shows up all the time in Bungie stories. For anyone interested in this phenomenon you can visit Bungie's post about this endeavor here. And please join me over the next few days in campaign if you see me sign into Xbox Live. I'd love some company. Only a measly 125 million kills to go!!!!

There are some pretty interesting revelations in the second half. It'll change the way you think about the different races of the covenant. I know that the prophets are the leaders of the covenant but I never "hated" them until I finished the book. Borrow it from the library or from a friend, please. I don't want to tell you anymore and spoil it for you. Did I mention that the ending of this book and Halo 3's ending tie-in together.
