Define "superior rivals".

Clearly for most people gameplay and the Wii experience is superior to what the 360 and PS3 are offering.

Please tell me you are joking....the Wii is Superior to the 360? HA HA Ha ha ha

Tell me, before Brawl, was there any game on the Wii that had you hooked for 15 hours a day, month after month after month? No? Well, then get a 360 with three little known games: Halo3, GoW, and COD4 :D That is what Replay Value is all about!

the wii has a much broader appeal than the PS3 or 360. who wants to but there 8 yr old a 400 dollar electronic hotplate? I personally love the 360, but the wii is better in terms of durability, price and the wii-mote is interesting. the 360 offers 60 dollar games (ps3 as well) and a system that i more complicated and unreliable.

To me, the Next Generation started with one word: Downloadable Content. And sure on the Wii you can purchase Super Mario World for $10 (even though you can get it for free online via emulators), the Wii has no future in patches or expansions.
RockBand is the PERFECT EXAMPLE of what can't be done on Wii. No gorgeous Next Gen visuals....no stereo sound support....and no ability to play tunes not burnt unto the DVD. Me, I have over 100 tracks total. So I have 400 different ways to play that game :D
THAT is the true Next Generation! I'd rather get a true online experience with upgradable games than a gimmicky motion controller, that quite frankly, was designed for 8 yr olds

But it's all preference. I prefer entertainment when compared to crap.
