It does make sense for Microsoft to release a handheld. They already have the Xbox Marketplace and arcade titles and moves that should be able to run on a such a device. With the lack of success of the Zune, they should keep that out of the name and please do not let anyone squirt something to it.

I guess I am kinda with hoZt,

However this would have been a great idea whenever Gamerscore was a much bigger deal, and imagine if you could play Arcade games on it, most of which would have adaptable controls,

but i really don't feel the need. If they do release this they send everyone who purchased a Zune so all twelve of ya, a half off voucher.

Yay that means I should get one. And dont hope on my zunes ass. I love the thing no problems with it unlike the 4 ipods I had to go thru.

They already released news that they are making arcade games for the Zune. I seriously doubt the rumor is true. Also I like my zune...

Microsoft has already specifically said they are NOT going to release a hand held gaming device... I don't think it's true either...

Why is the Ipod better?Becuase it has more accesories?Ill take my FM tuner and my Zune to Zune music transfering wifi any day over a dancing Ipod dog.

I love my Zune. It's F'd in the A at the moment, but I think that is my laptop's fault. With the way handhelds dominate the Japanese markets it would be a smart move to try to get an "in" for the next iteration of the console.

Who cares if MS said they are NOT going to make a handheld. They say no to a lot of things then to turn around and do just what they said they wouldn't. Don't believe everything you read.

I really hope they aren't going to waste their efforts and money on something that is near useless. I've already stated why I think Microsoft shouldn't get into the handheld market and seemingly adding basically a zune music kinda quality to it makes it seem like an even worse idea as the ipod has the portable music industry wrapped up as much as Nintendo does the handheld. There are much better and logical things they could be doing.
