| Posted: 7 months ago its not the teens fault, it is for sure the video game. these scalwag game companies are corrupting our poor, inncocent children. The solution is to ban video game outright. because before video games, there was no such thing as teen violence. --------------------------------- semper ubi sub ubi |

| Posted: 7 months ago Speaking of 'death penalty'.. I saw an update on CNN today about the dude in Texas who shot two guys with a shotgun as they were robbing his neighbour's house. The great part is, he was on the phone with 911 at the time telling the operator that he was going to shoot these dudes.
Operator: "uh.. please don't shoot these people"
However, the fellow - who seems to be a second ammendment enthusiast -- replies "you hear the click?" and then proceeds, while still on the phone, to step outside and gun the two people down.
The update revealed that a grand jury refused to indict him on what was obviously two counts of first degree murder. However, my favourite part was one of the people on the panel was some talk show host who was hailing him as a 'true American hero' and that more people should shoot burglars. The kicker is, the panelist had a permit to carry a concealed weapon.... a proponent of shooting suspected burglars on property other than their own has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
So.. I propose that whenever some talking head wants to point the finger at video games for promoting gun violence, broom handle violence. sexism , drunk-driving or any other nasty business that some people are going indulge no matter what their pastimes, they should also mention people like those in the above yarn who probably couldn't even pronounce Niko Bellic. |

that call was hilarious!!!
I am on the fence about it. Peopel shouldnt rob other people, and when they do, they should expect to be shot. he couldve at least shot them in the legs. but screw the thieves. If they woulde been at towrk, or at home with their family like the should have been, they would not have been shot. --------------------------------- semper ubi sub ubi |

| Posted: 7 months ago Sorry Benjamin, Joe Horn did the right thing. I work not too far from where that happened and Pasadena has become overrun with crime. That particular neighborhood had been attacked repeatedly. I have followed that case since day one and he was justified in his actions. --------------------------------- Currently Playing:

| Posted: 7 months ago If you're going to bitch at someone for trying to defend against crime, and bitch at the people doing the crimes, THEN bitch at the law enforcement and judicial system for not doing what 'you' think is right then what the hell do people want? All these laws just makes a mess of things, sorry, if I see someone committing a preventable crime, to me, my family or otherwise I WILL take action, I don't shoot and own a gun just to look at. --------------------------------- My husband is an Italian Hero... the person not the sandwich. |

| Posted: 7 months ago Whoa! Controversy! I'm sorry I brought it up.I will say that I don't feel sympathy for the robbers and I always enjoy when crooks get their comeuppance. And whether Joe Horn did the right thing or not wasn't really my point. My point is that there are lots of examples of gunplay for the kids to look up to and emulate. However, shooting suspected burglars in a home other than one's own does seem like a slippery slope...
I admit that I laughed at the phone call though...
Operator: Sir, if you go outside you're going to get shot.
Horn: Want to make a bet? |
