anyway, the movie actually looks pretty cool, PLEASE be rated R.

and PLEASE dont have any "funny" jokes.

and PLEASE dont have Tomb Raider style antics. that would gay up the world more.

One of the reasons Max Payne worked because it got a hyper-stylised neo-noir cinema style working damn well.

What's the point of making a movie of a game that was pretty much a movie in the first place?

to see it with live action. as long as they dont make marky mark run that goddamn blood trail over and over and over and over, with a baby crying in the background.
That could have been the most frustrating game moment ever.

I don't know if Mark Whalberg would be the first person I would pick, but I can see the logic. He's done some decent movies: the Italian Job and The Departed. However, I would say a more unknown actor would have been a better choice. Perhaps even Ben Affleck as a very dark character, but thats a push.
Could this film please stop the madness of games becoming bad movies.

In all honesty, they should drop the whole dark devilly thing, that was only a small part in the 1st film, from what I can remember.

I hope it has a part where Max has to run on blood veins, and a baby cries over and over again while he's doing it. And I hope he has to do it three separate times, and each time it's slower and slower.

That would be EPIC.

But that's my point! We've already seen it in live action. Hyper-noir + John Woo + The Matrix.

A film of Max Payne would simply be a diluted form of something that was already a diluted form of something else.

Diminishing effect!

I think the trailer shows promise, but to directorscut86's point, I can always throw Hard Boiled or The Killer in my DVD player instead.

Bling, that blood trail scene from the first game was NUTS! I was so pissed when I would fall off of it....i still cant figure out what they were trying to do with that, drive me crazy?

Yeah, that, and to extend the gameplay. It was a horrible decision (I'd rank it up there with the spinning bladed columns of Hell in the first God of War).

but indeed it was a groundbreaking game. Bullet time was awesome. those flashbacks were actually really neat, until that godawful blood trail crap.

I actually like Mark Wahlberg, but I would have like to have seen someone a little more gritty. Ray Liotta or even Bruce Campbell if he could stay serious.

God yes, he could this film so well. I mean he was awesome in Smokin' Aces and just pure outstanding in Turbulance. If you have not seen turbulance, find it and watch it, because he is one creepy ass mo'fo in that

Very. Tube sock and cue ball. Nuff said. I liked it. It wasn't a success in theaters by any means, but a lot of great movies aren't (Office Space, Lock Stock, Memento)
