Had this exact thing happen to us. Husbands best friend had bought a 360 and got some games from walmart but due to other circumstances he had to sell it all but gave us his unopened original Gears, we hadn't even messed with it until my brother asked to play it( he was staying at our house while we were at the beach). So he calls me back and says um... did you know this was a fake? I was like what? no you just opened it! he was like no pretty sure, blue back, no xbox hologram around the ring, and oh yeah the poorly printed off gears art along with the fact it won't load.

When we got back low and behold it was exactly as he said. I had my husband call his friend cause I wouldn't doubt that he'd do something like that, yes he would put forth the effort if he got a good laugh out of it but he didn't believe us either but had no receipt and such so we were stuck. Funny story, thought I'd share since it coensided with the article.
