Community gamercards Posted: 5 months ago Been messing about designing and building a 360plex card for people to use in other forums etc.. First attempt: ![]() If you have any suggestions or requests then let me know, would be good to have a library of cards members could use here. --------------------------------- www.o35s.net - Gaming and podcasting for the elderly.

Posted: 5 months ago Shit, that looks really awesome actually.Does it self-update and such? It wouldn't be fun to get it now, and a year and 1000+ gamerscore down the road still have it read what it had back then... and MC, it's a signature =P --------------------------------- "Think of 360plex, like a transformer"
Posted: 5 months ago Yes it is a fully live card using MS score data. You can save the card by simply right clicking and saving image but seeings as it would be a static image it will not update, sadly the server used on these is not as rapid as MGC so it maybe be 24 hours for gamerscore and played games etc to update on it.This version is a .png image so reads from the score servers. hoZt any feedback from you? Do you endorse this idea or is it treading on your toes at all? --------------------------------- www.o35s.net - Gaming and podcasting for the elderly.
Posted: 5 months ago Can you use this on Xbox live forums as a sig ?--------------------------------- 360 leads to wife neglect !!!!
Posted: 5 months ago I don't think xbox.com allows images in signatures.--------------------------------- www.o35s.net - Gaming and podcasting for the elderly.
Posted: 5 months ago It is a cool mash-up of what you can pull down from a users gamercard. We are doing some integration here to get gamerscore points and track changes. One of these days I will complete this so you can track a members gamerscore over a time period.I am doing some testing on a more advanced integration with live that will show you the last 20 games played and the gamerscore in each. This is nearly complete, but still needs a bit of tweaking and I need to cache this information because it is slow to retrieve. The image is currently not showing up. It might just be a problem with their servers. --------------------------------- Do you Twitter? Follow hoZt
Posted: 5 months ago Looks like the site has vanished from existence hoZt, strange.....Just checked my own site where I have a thread of built cards and they have all vanished. If this is the case then the site must have run out of cash for its servers, the last custom game site I used had that problem. --------------------------------- www.o35s.net - Gaming and podcasting for the elderly.

Posted: 5 months ago Yes it is back and is looking good. I am going to have to play with this a bit. There is always a potential problem with these type of gamercard display services not being able to scale as their popularity grows. It is not very hard to grab a users current status from xbox.com, but to create a dynamic image from the data does take some cpu processing. We had a custom version of gamercards for the podcasters on the podcasting page, but disabled it when it caused the page to load slower and far too many times Microsoft had problems with their servers that prevented pulling the live data. The key to doing something like this is to cache a version of the gamercard and then regenerate it once every couple of hours. Have you tested to see how fast the image updates to your status? --------------------------------- Do you Twitter? Follow hoZt
Posted: 5 months ago Well it has my final bit of GS for Indy jones, just got the full 1000 in that. I will load up CoD4 later and see how long the update takes to land in the card. The only cards I know load and update fast are GLOP CARDS but they do not seem to be allowing any card creation at the moment. Livecard.net were the best but they went bust. This ultimately was an idea just for guys to use at other sites to spread the 360plex name about a bit. No problem. --------------------------------- www.o35s.net - Gaming and podcasting for the elderly. |
