 | Posted: 6 months ago Whoa diablo, we have made an effort to make the live shows a bit earlier, especially since we now have the daddy with us. If you remember we did a live show that was around 6 PM our time here for the over seas members to potentially make it. We plan to do more of those shows as well. |

Getting together for a live show early enough for those "across the pond" can tune in reasonably takes a lot of juggling for a few of us that have weird work schedules, i.e. Hero and I. We are going to try and do an earlier live show coming soon so that you all can listen, participate, and not have to stay up hella late.  | Posted: 6 months ago Due to my work schedule I've only been able to listen to one live show and I live in Seattle.Although I'm fairly new to 360Plex ive heard The Daddy enough to actually recognize his voice so the comment about no Brits being on doesn't make sense to me. |

 | Posted: 6 months ago A bit over the top Diablo, chill.  I understand that the live podcast is late and I would love it too be moved to an earlier time but the guys have a point. It is done on a part time basis and no one is getting paid for this, so they do the podcast as and when. |

Firenflames, you contribute basically sod all to the site yet still manage to get on the podcast, how come? `You honestly think thats fair? There are many more worthy members here that deserve or at least should be asked to contribute. I see no commitment to the forums, blogs, news stories etc from you. The timing of podcasts. Yes I understand the logistical aspect of the timezone and scale of it but surely out of a 7 day week there can be a regular comprimise? Out of 52 shows how many have you started early to give international members a chance to participate in? As for this childish comment found in another thread "The next live show will be moved much earlier. Some of us have "real" jobs that make it difficult to schedule mid-day." You care to elaborate on that hoZt? And what would you class as a real job then? fighting the American war in Iraq not good enough for you? Military service childs play is it? I suggest you think your sarcasm through a little more deeply before making these anal comments. Unless of course you think we are all unemployed and without real jobs and stay up til 5 am to listen in to you? 10 pm your time = 3 am our time, minus say 3 or 4 hours that makes it er... yep your right, midday your time... Shit I must be thick cos it just don't add up.  | Posted: 6 months ago Diablo,I've known hoZt for quite some time now, and I can say without hesitation that he's one of the least vindictive people I've ever met. I think what he meant to say by a 'real job' is a 'day job.' Basically, a 'day job' is 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. here in the states (I assume it's similar in the U.K., but I don't know for sure and don't want to assume). Since this is a free site, and everyone who participates in the podcast does it as a hobby, hoZt has to do the podcasts whenever he can get everyone together, and a majority of the participants (past and present) work day jobs. Now, I'm really glad to see more participation from people overseas, both in the podcast as well as the news and forums. But honestly, I don't understand your anger about this. Maybe it's a reflection of how much you love the site, and want to be a bigger part of it? I hope so. Also, hoZt is on the west coast, and is eight hours behind the U.K. So, 10 p.m. his time is 6 a.m. your time. I know hoZt can defend himself, but I wanted to put in my two cents. One other thing: I try not to talk politics on this site because I don't feel it's the place for it. Having said that, I think your comment about 'fighting the American war in Iraq not good enough' was uncalled for. What you said was a generalization. I would liken it to an American saying 'Brits have bad teeth.' For the record, I support our troops, and have sent more than one care package (DVDs and/or video games) overseas. However, I'm still a political progressive who disagrees with our presence in Iraq (as do a majority of Americans). Also, I'm not overweight; I don't like NASCAR; nor have I had sexual relations with any of my relatives. Diablo, do you have nice teeth? Do you hate tea and crumpets? I'm sure there are things about you that don't fit the stereotypes of an 'average' Brit. So at the very least, can we get past the generalizations? If you knew what I did you would not comment, yes I have a real job, it's the RAF, we are fighting what is classed as an American war. You obviously missed the point, the thing that pissed me off was host knew that so why the fuck he chose to take that cheap shot and childish dig was questionable and out of order in my book. I made no references to Americans and their way of life, you did and then chose to start making stereotypical Brits comments, so lets not start the old race war in here eh? Moving back to the real topic of the timing of the podcasts, I was led to believe that you hold it at 10 pm, that relates to 3 am here, thats why The Daddy was up at 3 am doing it, sorry to be picky but if it was moved from 10pm to lets say 7 pm it would have been easier to make a show at midnight our time. Or even god help us try doing it on a Saturday...... Yes I really liked the site, the podcast was great, the owner asks the community to be part of it, seemed like a good idea so lets get involved more. You can all carry on blowing up out of proportion as much as you like, be as stereotypical as you like, it only helps make my decision clearer. Lord Bling you comments were unnecessary and off topic, you used my post to misconstrue the facts and take another cheap shot. If we make a request or ask hoZt a question via PM the least we expect is he at least has the manners to reply either way. If that's the way you want to conduct things here then I no longer wish to be part of this site. My point was that we all aren't war-hungry psychos here in America, and I hoped you didn't think that way. I just don't like stereotypes, and that's how I read your statement because I didn't know where it was coming from. I have a couple of good friends in the U.K., and I plan on going overseas sometime in the next year or two to visit them. When I do, maybe you and I can get together, and I'll buy you a pint. | Posted: 6 months ago Why not do a show where Hozt has all Brits as guest hosts.I think that would be fun.Id like to know about the gaming community in Britain a little more and see whats hot or not over there.Gaming markets show that Americans and Brits have similar tastes in games unlike our Japanese gaming brothers who perfer RPG's over First Person Shooters.Thats my 2 cents. |

[/i]Your apparent problem with her has no effect whatsoever on why the podcast isn't done earlier so I frankly believe you owe her an apology and if you really don't come back than I would like to apologize for you as that is not the kind of behavior we encourage and I am disappointed with the way you handled yourself here as everyone else tried to keep things civil and understanding. All any of the hosts ever do is encourage people to join in, it is not, and I repeat NOT their fault that you don't stay up to join in. They can't satisfy everyone all the time and only try their best to make things fair for all of us to have a good time. How is it fair that if they made it earlier in the day for you that others here and other places wouldn't get to join in? then we would get someone from the states complaining they can't join in as I always say, you can't satisfy everyone. You guys are doing a great job and are trying the best you know how so don't let one comment like this throw you off, continue to make this site a great place to spend time. | Posted: 6 months ago No sorry Miss Fortune I will not apologise for my comments about Firenflames. I may not be alone in this but I am the only one willing to say it out loud. I really feel firenflames is on the podcast to grab the girl gamer angle, and before I am tarred and feathered for that there is nothing wrong or untoward with girl gamers whatsoever. My gripe is she makes hardly any effort here yet does not mind grabbing the podcast limelight, if there is a more deserving "girl gamer" to do this I strongly feel that this honour should be yours Miss Fortune. Your knowledge and efforts here are on a different level. Sorry Fire but you have to make an effort here or people like me will just say "wtf? post more, be more active, show you have an interest" All this "we" you talk of is bland, "we" made a consolidated effort to post things here, to keep the forums ticking over, to keep the boards full of topics somebody may want to reply to, I for one do not see this effort from you, if that upsets you I cannot help that but you must know what some people are thinking. There are many many members here, regularly in the top 10 and who devote a lot of time to posting, getting involved, these people in my opinion should have a chance to grab some limelight for their efforts. I understand that posting does not qualify you for a podcast appearance but come on play fair. Get those finger busy girl and get posting, show us how interested in 360 plex you really are. I know "a" live show was done at 6 pm, I really fail to see what the big problem was in moving these back more often, at least when we ask an answer would be cool, if a PM asking does not work then what use is posting in a thread going to be? All I can say is if you continue to ignore members request and shy away from their enthusiasm then members will dwindle away, look after the ones you have as a forum with no posters is a lonely place. I made a real effort when I joined here, gave hozt a few ideas for the site, gave him some places to link to, affiliate with, a voting scheme yet it has all gone. Mabe it was not good enough for him who knows? Members just dont appear out of thin air, it took my community 2 years to gain just over 400 solid active members, not the ones that sign up and never post but solid ones who are there day after day. I value my community and do whatever it takes to keep the site fresh and keep them coming back, alienating them would not help. | Posted: 6 months ago Actually Diablo, your not the only one who was willing to say it out loud about Firenflames, i was just a guest visitor at one point and emailed the show about her and thats what got me on the air.I took alot of flak for it in earlier threads but then we moved on because it became and old topic.I agree with you also that it would be nice to hear Miss Fortune on the show.Iv enjoyed reading her responses and it has actually sparked my interest in what she has to say about gaming in general and her likes and dislikes.Id like to know how she can game and be a mother at the same time, talk about multi-tasking. |

| Posted: 6 months ago Ah, you guys make me feel all fuzzy inside! Thank you very much, I really do appreciate the support, lets me know people are listening to what I have to say. And I've been given shit for awhile about not being on the podcast but I still assure everyone it will happen, but seeing as my pc is dead and I have to use my husbands it may be awhile before I can fully participate, I hope my posts hold people over til then lol. I fully understand what you're saying diablo but it's just how it is for now. I think we do need the female perspective on things and seeing as besides myself she's kinda the only one here it's what we get, I think she adds more than alot of other females I've meet, she may not have a massive array of knowledge but she doesn't think puzzle quest makes her a hardcore gamer either. And the fact that she doesn't feel she has to prove herself to you guys makes her even more of a genuine gamer in my book. But you also have to understand that hoZt has alot on his plate and can only do so much, so even though it may feel like he's not noticing, he may just be trying to get things together and doesn't have the time to update everyone on what he's working on at all times. Yes it can be frustrating but calm down and think back to when you started your site, it takes time to get it right, just let him try. How about we do what ravioli suggested and the next live podcast be with the brits? hozt can maybe find a day he's off or has the time available to do the cast and just see how it goes? and if successful it could happen more often, like when the normal guys are super busy or alot of the guys from across the pond are sitting around doing nothing and everyone is happy? And lol, I'd need a reality show to be able to explain how I multi task a child, housework, dinner, bills, work(when I go back this week) and still be able to game. | Posted: 6 months ago I have not said much about this problem yet but I will put my spin on this. Let me put it to you like this At the end of every show except one, you always hear me end the show with the same phrase "members". That was never meant to me as sign up for our site now but to me it always stood for "support us so we can support you!" Every person on this site is my friend although we may never directly meet shake hands or share a beer i treat you all as if you were. Personally I can see were you may have felt somebody was taken a shot at you but M8 lets be honest Since others and I help start this community I can whole heartedly say we have never once tried to make a region feel as if there where left out, do to where they were from. It is unfortunate some of the comments that were said on this blog I think we all need to take a breath I think about to who we are speaking about and to. Our friends. There have been times where as a podcaster I have fallen asleep trying to do shows do to my time zone being the latest and my 445am to 400pm job. But I do this because I love to let my voice be heard even more I love to make people laugh and smile with my comments. I have always supported my buddies across the pond and I will continue to show my support to the region. But my friend you are mistaken in saying or thinking we don't care And you're right we are a good site and have a good podcast that could be better but you know what even if we were #1 I would still think the same way because as a person I see myself always wanting to improv and trying to become and stay the best You're local neighborhood friendly Hero --------------------------------- You're local neighborhood friendly Hero |
 | Posted: 6 months ago My opinion on this whole affair is this.There are members for this site all over the world. I live in Perth, Australia. I have no idea what the time difference is between me and Hozt or anyone else on this website and therefor if I want to participate in the Podcast I either have to leave a message or be available when they are going live. I have enough trouble trying to organize a time to play live with a single other friend in Sydney let alone trying to get 4 people available at the same time for a podcast. I think D- i s pissed about PLEX not doing more to get him involved, (which is the problem with TIME ZONES) The Sexist, War topics were never meant as interpreted. Diablo you are a member of a website, community, the Podcast is run By HoZT. Being a Member doesn't MEAN U are a Podcaster. If you want to be more involved drop an audio message to HoZT, You may not be able to be on live but your consideration will be heard. I also don't think Diablo should be made out to be a "bad guy" He Spoke his mind.............. Then was hit critiizism from everyone(including me) I hope you stay around Diablo as i am sure you were just typing and shit got carried away. Peace all |

| Posted: 6 months ago Sorry for my delay on getting back to this thread. I have been traveling the last couple of days and before that working my ass off and getting ready for my trip.Let me clarify about "some of us have real jobs". This is a poke at myself as I am an independent programmer and usually does have a very flexible schedule. I often say that one of these days I will get a real job, meaning something 9-5, benefits, health insurance, etc. You are reading too much into my comment if you think I meant anything else. I am political, but bite my tongue when talking about video games. As for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and I will only say that I have total respect for the troops and am grateful beyond words that others care so much about this country to risk their lives fighting for it. If only our leaders had such conviction. Back to the podcast. In 52 shows we have only had a handful of these that have been live. It does take a bit more coordination to make a live show happen and they can be technically challenging. I would love to make every show live, because it is the community that makes this. We have had a hard time scheduling 3-5 of us for show let alone everyone in the world. Diablo, I do appreciate your suggestions. Keep in mind I nor any one else that is a part of the site or the podcast has made any money on it. If I added up the amount of software I have purchased, server expenses, bandwidth fees, gear that I have invested in, let alone my time that I spend coding the site, editing the podcast, and updating the site I would cringe. I have received tons of great suggestions how the site and the podcast could be improved. I have been very receptive and stoked by some of the suggestions that people have come up with. I also have several of my own big ideas of how I would like the podcast and the site to to expand, but the fact is that I am only one person and can only do so much. The best place for suggestions is in the "Site Discussion" forum. I go back through what has been posted from time to time and it helps me keep track of things. Do not think that just because you have not seen your suggestion implemented that it will not be. The custom nature of the engine that powers the site makes anything possible. Some ideas take more time than others. Now about our podcaster's Hero was here from the beginning and flat out rocks even when he is rambling. If it was not for Hero, the podcast would never have happened. Gunnz was there early on and brought a very open minded and humourous perspective to the show. If you take some of the funniest lines ever that were uttered on the show, Gunnz said them. When he left, I seriously considered throwing in the towel and quitting. Lord Bling was a huge addition to the show with his deep knowledge of the gaming world. He would have us all laughing our asses off before each show. He sent me a note that I missed for like two months about his desire to be on the show, I wish I had found that earlier. It was a sad day when he announced his retirement, but he had to get a real job. Miles started being a part of the show off and on a couple of months after Lord Bling. He is a hardcore gamer that has some great gaming knowledge. He has been one of the most flexible in his availability to be on the show, is funny, and has been a good addition. Keep in mind for every 1 member on the site we have at least 3 to 5 hundred silient listeners. Just because we do not have many members that are Women, we do have lots that listen to the show. Early on I wanted to have a female perspective on the show so we would have a wider opinion. This brings me to Flames. Firen Flames has been our most controversial member of the podcast. I have heard from people that love her and those that say she should not be on the show. She does not spend as much time as other podcaster's do on the site, but when we have a show she takes her preparation seriously. She is always ready to go and and prepared. She does give us some diversity and good banter during each show. Her radio experience does come through during the podcast and she has given us lots of great ideas on how we can make the show better. TheDaddy was another terrific addition to the podcast. He has contributed more to the site than anyone next to myself. To the show he brought a deep understanding of the news, a unique European perspective, and he can be funny as heck without even trying. Having additional timezones to the scheduling is a challenge. I have said before I would like to have a weekly show. I want every show to be live and take calls and bring more of you into the show. Ideally the time would alternate every other week so one week it is in the afternoon PST then the next week would be later. Do I know what lies ahead for the podcast? Nope... I am sure that there will be additional challenges that will have to be overcome if we are to survive. By now I have undoubtedly offended or pissed off somebody. As someone who just read through all of this from start to finish, you can see both sides speak with passion and conviction about this site. I can only apologise for speaking my mind but after some cheap shots I had no choice but to defend my position, real job or not., I do not wish to carry on the debate any further from this point on here or xbox live.I have enjoyed my time here but I will trouble the forums no longer.
