Installing and using the Xbox 360 HD DVD drive with video
(via Engadget) - Filed under: Gaming, HDTV Installing the Xbox 360's HD DVD drive wasn't as simple as we might have expected -- it actually required an install disc instead of having 100% of the support built in with the fall update. The upshot here is the install was totally seamless (as one would expect), and only took about 3 minutes.

Rainbow Six: Vegas Duck and Cover gameplay video

Saving the hostages from execution in this kind of "weather" condition makes it even more difficult for the Rainbow Six team to complete the mission. When enemies fire at will upon seeing you and your team move inside the Calypso, you know you gotta "Duck and Cover".

Independent Review of Sony PS3 Online Service
(via Ozymandias) - I wrote earlier about Sony's online network being broken; not surprisingly, some took umbrage at my statement. Glenn Entis of EA: beware unrealistic graphics like Final Fantasy
(via QJ) - Better graphics isn't enough. If you just increase the polygons, you will end up with better-looking characters, but that doesn't mean they'll look more "realistic." You need to improve the motion physics. And you also need to improve gameplay. This is the point made by Glenn Entis, Academy-Award-winning senior VP and chief visual and technical officer for EA games (he was formerly CEO from Dreamworks Interactive).

(via Kotaku) - Last week I let me son check out the Sixaxis with Ridge Racer, today I videoed him playing Excite Truck using the Wii Remote and asked him what he thought of the controls. The end result, it seems, is that he likes the Remote best, the Sixaxis next and the Xbox 360 last.
