Best Buy Ad Shows Xbox 360 Price Drop Microsoft
(via Kotaku) - Another retailer has shown that Microsoft is planning to drop the price of the Xbox 360 20GB model — formerly known as the "Pro" — to $299, as a Best Buy employee has forwarded us (obligatorily blurry) cell phone pics of an upcoming weekly ad. The model currently retails for a suggested price of $349 in the United States.

PSN boss disses Xbox Live's interface, game de-listing
(via N4G.com) - Joystiq.com writes "No sooner does Sony (briefly) improve the PS3 user interface with the much-talked-about version 2.4 firmware update, than some at the company feel cocky enough to start badmouthing the competition's interface. Speaking to Next-Gen, PlayStation Network Director of Operations Eric Lempel took the bait in taking a few moments to compare Sony's redesigned PlayStation Store to Microsoft's Xbox Live Marketplace.

MGS4 helps PS3 catch up with Wii in Japan - Xbox 360 still dead

DC Universe Online Wants You for a MySpace Pal

Not that I visit MySpace much, only when I need comic relief, but it is probably one of the coolest pages I have seen on there. No create-a-track mode in Rock Band 2
(via Xbox 360 Fanboy) - Filed under: News With player created music tracks playing a pivotal role in Guitar Hero: World Tour, many may be wondering whether or not Rock Band 2 will also be incorporating such a feature. The answer, sadly, is no. In an interview with the Associated Press (the same interview that confirmed RB2 would have more than 80 tracks), Harmonix head Alex Rigopulos made it known that Rock Band 2 will not have any sort of player controlled track creation.

Ninja Gaiden II Mission Mode Coming This Month July Is Ninja Month

In ninja paradise, you'd all be dead. Infinity Ward says: No Trophies for CoD4
(via 360 HQ) - If you head over to Infinity Ward’s forums and poke around you might find this topic and read that Infinity Ward has no plans to add any new options at all, not just trophies to COD4. In the forum post Rob Bowling has confirmed that Trophies aren’t going to be added to the PS3 version of Call of Duty 4 and went on to say: “At this time, we have no plans to patch in Trophy support for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the PS3,” he said.

Halo board game coming September

EA apologises over FIFA anthem blunder
(via N4G.com) - Electronic Arts has today apologised for a culturally sensitive blunder in FIFA 08 – in which the Northern Ireland football team stand to The Soldier's Song, traditionally sung at United Ireland sporting events. A regional newspaper in Northern Ireland reports that fans reacted with 'surprise' to hear the anthem represent their national team in the game.

Enterbrain: MGS4 Helps PS3 Close Wii Sales Lead In Japan
(via Gamasutra) - Though the Wii outsold the Playstation 3 6-to-1 in Japan in May, Sony's console managed to narrow Nintendo's lead in June, bringing that hardware sales ratio down to 1.7-to-1, according to a report from magazine publisher Enterbrain, made available to Reuters. Nintendo sold a total of 235,990 Wii consoles in June, with Sony selling 139,494 PlayStation 3 units and Microsoft trailing at only 10,964 Xbox 360 units sold.
