Guitar Hero: World Tour can use Rock Band instruments
(via Xboxer) - Aww, that's nice, then. Activision have decided to reach out to owners of 'other' music games and announced that Guitar Hero: World Tour will be compatible with non-Guitar Hero instruments. Obviously, this is largely an attempt to lure fans of Rock Band into the Guitar hero fold, but the game is also throwing open it's loving arms for owners of random 3rd party kit as well.

Metallica to release new album via Guitar Hero III
(via Xboxer) - Well, isn't that a turn up for the books? Metallica - the band who famously killed proto-filesharing network Napster using only the power of whingeing and lawyers - have performed an about-face and decided that, actually, downloading music IS 'really metal' after all. The same day that their ninth studio album Death Magnetic is released into the shops, gamers will be able to download the entire thing as a track pack for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

Dead Rising Headed to Wii
(via Gaming Today) - One of my favorite Xbox 360 games, Dead Rising, is getting ported to Nintendo’s waggle-happy system, according to the latest issue of Famitsu. And I do mean ported — this isn’t a spinoff or sequel, which may or may not be a good thing. It’ll be interesting to see how Capcom handles the conversion on a number of levels, specifically in terms of visuals, controls, and gore.

Rock Band controllers to work with Guitar Hero: World Tour
(via Xbox 360 Fanboy) - Filed under: News, E3 At Activision's non-E3 conference Tuesday, Guitar Hero director Brian Bright surprised attendees confirming that any guitar and drum controllers players own for other games on the Xbox 360 will be compatible with Guitar Hero: World Tour. This news comes as quite a shock considering the current state of controller compatibility between the two music franchises -- a recent update apparently made all guitar controllers compatible with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith but we've heard of some issues.

Joystiq E3 hands-on: Silent Hill: Homecoming
(via Joystiq) - Filed under: Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Adventure, E3 A few things. First, I love the Silent Hill series. Second, E3 really isn't the venue for demoing a Silent Hill game. Even in Konami's relatively quiet meeting room, it was impossible to hear any dialogue or music in Silent Hill: Homecoming -- headphones were available, but they were broken .
