Why do news stations never do any stories about the good in video games? Why does everyone have to always be so negative. --------------------------------- My husband is an Italian Hero... the person not the sandwich. |

for people that dont fit in in sports or anything else sometimes video games are a good getaway and can be something they can be good at |

| Posted: 13 months ago Hozt has got it right. Myself as an adult had to turn my Xbox off because of some bigoted, racist idiot last night on COD4.
If you dont want your children to hear it, dont let them on live.
Can you turn voice comunication off in the parental settings? That would be the other option if they have it? |

Parents want to complain about stuff like this but nobody ever thinks about this little fact: who are the ones exposing the kids to this? They can't buy it themselves now can they? I was carded for Saints Row the other week and I'm older than the girl that did it! If you want to bypass the ESRB, the verbal warnings from friends and even store clerks, and the commercials specifically stating 'not for children under___" then DO NOT COMPLAIN. You're bringing it into your own home not anyone else so take the responsibility of being an adult and a parent and just don't do it. --------------------------------- My husband is an Italian Hero... the person not the sandwich. |

| Posted: 13 months ago My son is 15 and he regularly is able to rent mature games without any questions so just having a game rated Mature does not always solve the problem.
This gets back to how the mature rating get watered down when a game like Halo 3 has a mature rating. Parents see the game is no big deal and then can think that every mature game is just like Halo.

But do you know that the games are rated Mature when he gets them? But there are parents that have no clue about this stuff (and apparently can't read) and buy it without thinking it through, then go and complain when they see their 12 year old sawing someone in half. You have to take responsibility is my point. If your son rents something that you later don't approve of I'm sure you wouldn't try to sue or start a group to combat 'games that are 'lethal' to the youth of america' or anything like that. And if you're buying it for him I'm sure you think it through first, correct? my whole point. --------------------------------- My husband is an Italian Hero... the person not the sandwich. |

You can turn off the voice and text communications in the edit profile-> privacy settings.
I have even found myself doing this on nights that I just don't wanna hear all the crap that goes on during a Live match. I have even contemplated turning my voice to friends only from time to time, permanently. --------------------------------- WTFavre!?
