I do not think us males have any concept of what is must be like to be a female and to play on live.

 It is always the way whenever I get in a room and there are females. I'd say it doesn't happen often but more likely it is just that girls don't talk very often.

Good article. Very true in everything I've encountered. The replys to the article on that site just show exactly who the article is talking about. There are days I wish I could just play and not have to go through the whole "IS THAT A GIRL?!??" thing everything 5 minutes.

I haven't had those reactions in a long long time. Even now that I've been playing Warcraft I don't get them, but yet my brother makes a female character and 2 seconds into the game some guy is hitting on him(LOL). I think it's a vibe you give off, I go for the "leave me the hell alone I don't need, want or require your help, all you're doing is pissing me off" and thusly vocalize it when necessary.

It sucks when that stuff does happen but when you finally get over the stuff and start fighting back you'll just get the harassment for being a girl(a.k.a: disgruntled guys getting embarassed for getting owned). But at the same time there are girls out there playing it up and making every other female look bad, it is something that truly enrages me and I call those girls out whenever possible. Just like any other stereotype, can't break through when some are playing into it.

i think its directly related to age. most of the younger lads tend to hrass the honeys more. Women do deserve to be left alone when playing, but thats like telling the alligator to eat only vegetables.

Really first of all how do you really know that there a girl. They may just have voice problems. People are people. Not like youll get anything out of playing with a girl nothing will happen. How would you feal to be in that spot. Mabey not in the spot of gender but in the spot of racism? Same thing. Leave it alone play your game and move on. I hate people that do that stuff in games it really piss's me off. Its like the male race has no ablity to control itself. Like hungry dogs. Okay mabey you can go a little crazy in real life. But xbox whats the point? Im a male and i go crazy to the hot fine girls. But i dont do it on xbox live. It could be some girl that is like 20 years old and looks like a man and is about 450 pounds and 4'3. Really think about it?

I don't like to verbalize any of the "leave me the hell alone"/rage because really all that often does it make them talk shi*t the whole game. I personally find it ridiculous when I listen to people trash talking throughout an entire game, so I try not to do that myself.

I think the single thing that pisses me off the most is guys generalizing about what I look like, act like, etc because I'm a girl who likes to play video games.

The hitting on is worse in my experience with the older guys I've played with. I have 24 year olds who will send me 10 game invites/voice messages telling me literally "I will throw my 360 out the window if you don't come play with me."

Live is VERY ENTERTAINING. I love just watching my wife play online because of all the attention she gets! Kids in GoW go nutz
