While I agree with Croal's comments about historical contexts, I disagree with him on the lack of humanity shown by the natives. More could've been shown, for sure, but what about the native who's shown turning into a zombie (screaming and bleeding from his eyes)? I felt bad for the poor guy, and he's just a video game character.

When I first saw this trailer last year, the first thought I had was, 'Damn, that game is going to look AWESOME.' The second thought was, 'Damn, some people are going to interpret this as racist.'

I'll shoot black, white, brown, yellow and red zombies. I don't give an F. I wish people would stop getting all butt hurt over stuff that nobody would care about unless a zealot brought it to their attention and told them to worry about it.

Yeah, the one guy says that none of the gamers seemed to even notice it. Maybe that's because not everyone see's things as black or white, but more like right and wrong. Doesnt matter what color the zombie is, if they are gonna eat your brain, you gotta stop them.

The reason race is still an issue is because people dwell on it. I saw the trailer, said "OMG... this is awesome" and have just been waiting for the game, never once did anything like that cross my mind, why, because I don't dwell on it, just leave it alone, it has no place, especially in games.

Trying to look 'P.C' just makes things worse, if it's been this long and nobody has said anything than why bring it up? it obviously isn't Capcom trying to cause problems so just stop, is this really what it's coming to now? people questioning every single game for some reason or another just to stir the pot and cause publicity, whether it be good or bad.

i agree. this game looks amazing. it doesn't matter that the zombies are black. it didn't matter that they were white in the previous games.

oh yeah. and it's just a game.

I have to wonder though ..... maybe Croal's comments should've been more out of concern for the way the mainstream media and non-gaming public will respond to it? Because I agree with you all: I think a vast majority of gamers won't notice, and not because they're oblivious, but because a zombie is a zombie is a zombie. Plus, at the end of the day, it's just a game, and Resident Evil has never been one for social commentary. I do have to say that I'm a little concerned with how it will be received by those outside our community, who are constantly looking for a way to trash our beloved hobby.
