Gates Blasts Nintendo and Sony
-- In an interview with the San Jose Mercury News, Gates was confident
in the future of Xbox 360. He claimed that Sony wasn't the big player
in the console market any more. "We wanted to swap positions with
Sony," he said. "We wanted to not be a year late, not be a big box, not
be a more expensive box. How are we doing on that?" "Sony has always
been our most direct competitor. Nintendo of course is a competitor.
But look at the resolution you get with a controlled experience like
that".

-- "It's going to take [Sony] a couple of years to get up to speed on
this, and I'm not sure that they necessarily have the talent, or it's
built into who they are as a company. . .They're struggling with some

another five million in the next 90 days. But this business is about
hardware, software and services now. And the consumer expects that. .
.It is not in Sony's DNA to be able to get that up and running from

In a recent interview with IGN, Peter Moore
commented on the PS3, saying that there wasn't anything on the PS3 he's
jealous of. "I really don't know what I would look at there that we're
really missing," he said.
Moore couldn't resist admitting that he is a big fan of Nintendo's Wii
however, claiming that it's what Nintendo need to do - "It ties
directly into their strong intellectual property that is more youth
oriented and more family oriented."

Microsoft dismisses rumours of revised Xbox 360 hardware (Picture)
- Rumors started coming out on an updated Xbox 360 with and HDMI after
some pictures were posted on Engadget. In response Chris Satchell head
of Microsoft's game developer group told GameSpot, "At the moment,
everything you might have seen is just looking at our experimentation
back in Redmond, not really a product that we're thinking about
announcing".
Microsoft Expands XBLA File Size to 250 MB
- The Xbox Live Arcade file size was capped at 50 MB to accommodate
customers that consumers a 360 without a hard drive. Strong rumors from
1up confirmed that the site has increased from 50 MB to 250 MB and with
Microsoft's approval, that size can be expanded to 450 MB. Microsoft
said, "We do not comment on rumor and speculation and so we can not
confirm that rumor. Aside from the exception we granted for
'Castlevania: Symphony of the Night,' we have not announced any plans
to alter the file size standard for Xbox Live Arcade games."

Bungie admit Halo 2 was 'screwed up'
- In a interview with EdgeOnline, Bungie's Technical Leader Chris
Butcher admitted that Halo 2 just wasn't as good as they were
expecting. "We miscalculated, we screwed up. We came down to the wire
and we just lost all of that. So Halo 2 is far less than it could and
should be in many ways because of that." He even admitted that he just
couldn't play Halo 2 multi-player at all. . .he continued, "And that's
why I know Halo 3 is going to be so much better."
Restore your dead 360 with a Towel?
-- The claim is that a 360 that has 3 red lights of doom can be
temporarily brought back to life. Wrap the dead 360 with a towel, turn
it on for about 10 minutes, then turn it off, and then back on again.
Several people are reporting that using this trick brings their 360
back to life for a couple of hours.

- A frustrated gamer that has had multiple bad experiences with
Microsoft Customer Support Team is attempting to get even by exploiting
a Microsoft policy that states that they will ship your xbox 360 back
to you in whatever box you send it to them in. He is raising money to
send the 360 back in a forty foot shipping container. He needs about
$2000 just for the container, which is without delivery. You can donate
to the cause through his website using Paypal, and he has so far raised
over $900.
GRAW2 demo
-- Ubisoft has announced that a demo for Ghost Recon Advanced
Warfighter 2 will be on it's way to the Xbox Live Marketplace 'Very
soon, very soon indeed'. No details on dates or times as yet but 'very
soon' to us could mean today, tomorrow or even a week from now. Video
-- similar to the original graw with more control of your units and you
have the ability to switch to a first person view of a specific unit
and control targetting, etc.
Call of Duty 3-Map pack now fixed -- The "Valor Map Pack" (800 points)
for Call of Duty 3 with five new multiplayer maps was released on the
18th. Users started experiencing problems with it, "We understand that
there are problems with the Valor map pack once it is downloaded - we
are working closely with Microsoft on this right now, and we will have
the issue resolved as soon as we possibly can". Today the developers
announced that they have fixed the issues surrounding the Valor Map
pack and also worked out some of the bugs users were experiencing in
