Good, long game     On: 2010-07-07

This game is alot of fun, It just gets a little reptitive. Dont plan on using the online. Last time I went online there were 2 people total online. This game easily takes 15+ hours.
Different - Not Necessarily Better     On: 2010-06-30

Need for Speed took a very different direction with this particular installment. There were no police chases, no city streets, and the cover for all of this (that Ryan Cooper is trying to go legit) is rubbed in your face at every race day. Does that make this a terrible game? No! It is however called, "Pro-Street" which should indicate that it isnt about canyon battles, outrunning the police, or re: later in the series - going undercover.

The mechanics of the game are fine, so long as you set yourself on King and do not use the assists. This is probably one of the best games to play with a steering wheel and foot pedals as opposed to the controller which can be very trying later in the game. This is a more finesse game than the previous, and it can be incredibly frustrating at first when your stage one car responds exactly like one should. That doesnt take away from the game; it just pisses you off, which should be a motivating factor in a competitive game.

The story isnt really there, but lets face it these games were never huge on plot. Theyre mostly about fast cars, fast tracks, and hard turns. I loved many of the different events and I enjoyed trying to dominate and squeeze out that slightly higher score to break records on tracks. There were also entire events that I despised and couldnt wait to be through, that made me want to scream and tear out my hair or better yet throw my controller at the television.

In comparison to the other games in the series thus far and those that came after it, this isnt one of the best but it certainly isnt one of the worst. Its a "middle" game and shows that they were attempting to take a more family friendly approach, or possibly got some heat (judging by the disclaimer at the beginning of the game about not street racing) that they were trying to make up for. Still, its a must have in the series.

Pro: Plays like a car should, they suck at stage one and theyre ridiculous at stage three without proper tuning. Great game for a wheel (many games are painful if you use one ala Dirt). Wonderful party game that you can walk away from and check the grill without missing anything.

Con: Poor plot, huge step away from the actual progression of the series, handicaps do more harm than good for new players.
I like it better than the previous versions!     On: 2010-05-30

Everybody has already gone into details, so I will just summarize my thoughts.

I have tried a couple of the previous NFS versions. I dont like the "street racing" arena. I dont believe in street racing, as it is illegal and dangerous, especially to innocent bystanders. I think ERA did it right, by putting racing back on the track as it should be.

I really enjoy this game completely. It may not be ultra realistic, but no game is the same as really being in a car on a track. No game will give you that. This game (for me) is close. I know some of the cars seem to be sluggish and dont appear to run as they do in real life, but with tuning and tweaking, they do become much more realistic. The game is just as much about which mods and which tweaks as it is about racing. Thats how real racing is. Actually real racing is 90% mods and tweaking and 10% driving skill.

I only use a game pad and I can control the car well and I can beat all the competition by using racing technique. Come into a turn properly and leave it properly and you gain seconds off the competition. The drag scene is realistic, especially the burnouts. I really love to burn out with a 67 Chevelle hopped up to stage 3.

Overall theres a bunch of tracks, flavors, events, cars and mods. It should keep me going for a long time. So many cars to try out and learn and so many mods to use. I am really satisfied with this game and with ERAs choice to do a "track only" game.

3 cheers for doing the right thing and not promoting more illegal street racing.

Oh, use the patch found on ERAs website. Its needed to have the game be smoother (for XP anyhow).
.
**EDIT** After playing this game for a month or so, I feel its totally biased towards foreign cars. (Imagine that). Any time a Supra beats a Ford GT in Drag times, then its absurdly biased. The American Muscle cars are there, but only to get US people to buy. If you use Foreign cars, they win hands down time after time. I mean in comparison - All stage 3 parts on one versus the other. Thats just not right, but since nothing is made in the US any more, I guess its life...
Excellent graphics and cars I grew up with but no vibration feedback     On: 2010-03-20

GRID is a much better game with an E rating so my kids can play too.
Played it for maybe 2 hours... Wish I rented it first!     On: 2010-03-04

If I had rented this game first I would not have bought it. The feel of the game is not to the same high standard of NFS Underground 2, NFS Most Wanted and NFS Carbon and even the later NFS Shift. I think its fun to drive around the city streets and all of that in the earlier games but the poor game play is why Im rating this so LOW. Terrible feel and boring.

I was so disappointed when playing this game after being so excited to open it up as a Christmas present 2 years ago. I havent even got it out to play it once since the first week I tried to play it.
HOME RUN ¨PROSTREET¨IS SUPER COOL.     On: 2009-09-28

I RECOMMEND IT, YOU CAN RACE DRAG, GRIP, TIME ATTACK AND DRIFT. THE AMERICAN MUSCLES AND THE EUROPEAN MOST ATTRACTIVE CARS ARE ALSO INVOLVE IN THIS GAME TOO.
Another HORRIBLE NFS game, just get Midnight Club: LA     On: 2009-08-30

NFS: ProStreet is another HORRIBLE Need For Speed game. Just save your $$$ PLEASE. If you want a GOOD racing game get -> Midnight Club: Los Angeles instead.
This is by far my favorite game for the series     On: 2009-08-21

Ive enjoyed the Need for Speed series and the open street racing. I dont particularly like dodging traffic but the games have always come easy to me. Pro Street takes you away from the street racing circuit and into organize racing which is more up my alley.
Personally I dont really care where I race just as long as I get to race all my favorite cars and just about all my cars are in this game. I like that I have the option to buy the cars with my Microsoft Points. Without even playing the game I was able to unlock everything. Once I unlock the cars I can buy as many of them as I want and doesnt cost me anything.
The customization feature in this game is sort of a hit and miss. I can create my own designs. Unfortunately I cannot save my designs and apply them to all of my cars which would have been a nice time saver. So every time I add a car to my collection I have to customize it myself and each time I apply my design it takes about twenty minutes.
The driving mechanics in this game is very easy for me to pick up. In fact I was even able to master drifting which is something I was never good at. They added damage modeling to the cars. I know most games want that realism in their racing games but I dont. You dont have the option to turn it off so Im stuck with it. Fortunately I am good enough to race without damaging my car... well most of the time.
Graphically the game is a step backwards because I purchased Grid before I purchased this game. The car models are still pretty good. They look almost like their real world counterpart. I could do without the music. At least I can turn that off. I wish I had the option to create my own race day without having to compete online. For some reason the game wont even allow me to race the cars from my garage. I didnt go through all the trouble of customizing my car to end up racing a different car. Come on Electronic Arts!

Dull game     On: 2009-06-17

I played it for a week and got bored. There are not many variations in the game play, just the basic 4 types of tracks and it sometimes becomes to difficult to complete a level when people upload unrealistic stats.
Disappointment     On: 2009-03-16

When this game come out, I waited for other people to waste their money on full price. I saw the videos and they were amazing... that is how I knew that this would not live up to those videos. I played the demo before it came out and was impressed with the cars but with need for speed, when is being impressed by the cars an issue? I have had various need for speed titles that go back to before xbox like hot pursuit. I have enjoyed every need for speed title. I have not played undercover and probably will not by it until the price is below $20. So what I am saying is, I bought this game for less than $10 and it is a lot like Forza Motorsport 2 (it even has the red/yellow/green arrows around turns), which I did not like. Need for speed tried to make this an actual simulation of driving and it just flopped. You have to designate cars to race in a very specific category and cannot use one car for everything. If you have played Forza and love it then you will love this game. If you are a need for speed fan then you will not like this as much as the other games. I enjoy this game because I know that I did not waste that much money on it.
This is a good game!     On: 2009-01-30

Pritty nice game with low price for one of the best racing game for xbox360. Excellent graphics and game engine.
I Retract my previous statement!     On: 2009-01-30

I first got my hands on this game around a year ago, and like everyone else, I was quick to get rid of it because it was no longer free roam, nor the cops where taken out of the picture. However, I have recently picked the game up again used at gamestop for $17.99 and for anyone debating if they want this title or not... Let me tell you what factors make this game alot of fun: 1. Its the social aspect that really makes this game shine, you are able to play split-screen, and the coolest part with this is when you are going high speeds on the long streched out highway and crash, you get a cinematic camera view of your car crashing. Hours of fun when you have a friend come by to hangout. 2nd. Like most other racing games you get the choice between manual and automatic. Well on Prostreet you get the option to use a manual with a clutch. My friend and I found this to be one of the key conponents to the "fun factor", with this game. And 3rd. Like many others in the series you get to customize your rides again...

So besides all that, of course you have your draw backs: no police, no free roam, and sometimes not the best framerate. But for the cost of this game now, I say its definitely worth a try to check out; you know you have a fun racing game in your collection when you have a friend that absolutey hates racing games request that you dont return it!

In a previous review on nfs undercover, I took a negative shot at prostreet, but as its listed, "I retract my previous statement". Due to the fact of the fun social factor this game presents. Hope I was able to help out
Lots of fun and not very difficult     On: 2009-01-17

This game has gotten some poor reviews on here, but for a value race game, this is better than many others Ive played. The career is fun, upgrading the cars is a good time, and the different race modes are outstanding. Drift is a little tricky at first, but fun once you get the hang of it. The drag races are sweet as are the regular races. Its not a blockbuster hit by any means, but solid for the price.
Need for Speed: Prostreet     On: 2009-01-06

The XBOX demo didnt do this game justice. I have enjoyed all the NFS games, "Most Wanted" being my favorite, but "Prostreet" still carries the flavor of NSF, but with a definite variation. I am enjoying this game a lot more than I thought I would.
Atleast it was cheap     On: 2008-12-04

I think I have to agree with a few of the other reviewers already on here with out a free roam option it just isnt as fun. But being able custimize a bunch of new cars is kinda fun for a while. All in all Im glad i waited for a while before buying this since its definitely not worth more then the $20 I paid, maybe not even that much.
Just plain lame.     On: 2008-12-01

NFS: Underground 2 was a pretty fun game. Yes, the riceboi take on it was weak, but all in all it was some good, goofy fun. NFS: Carbon which followed was something of a disappointment, though not exactly bad. But Pro Street was crap.

The storyline was weak to the point of being nonexistent, the racing was awkward much of the time, the selection of cars was shamefully small, and the rules for what cars could participate in what events was, frankly, nonsensical.

If you want a proper racing game for the 360, get Forza Motorsport 2. It lacks a storyline (which is actually less of an insult than Pro Streets vestigial story), but has dozens of tracks, hundreds of cars, and just takes itself a lot more seriously.
Just what I expected after reading other reviews     On: 2008-04-03

This is my least favorite of the modern NFS series. From what I understand, the next game out in the series will be going back to their origional roots bringing it back to city driving. The graphics are good and the new machine will help in the future games.
Ripped off the street...     On: 2008-04-01

Free roam, gone.
First choice for car, gone.
Fine tuning most aspects of the engine, yeah its gone. Replaced with a few sliders. You dont even get to choose your own name. This game has been stripped of so many of the things that made NFS great. I really hope that this game gets better further in. cus the plot seems pretty stupid so far. (Ooh, he said he doesnt DIG my racing skill...GAY!) Didnt people try to hill you in the underground series?
Great simulator     On: 2008-03-24

This game is a great racing simulator. Not really true to the Need For Speed line -- no cops or no running away, just racing. However, it does the racing fantastically. From optional racing assists to a clutch button (which is very helpful, if not difficult to master), this game is only outdone by Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport as far as realism is concerned. Amazing graphics!

Not recommended for arcade style players!
It has consumed my life...     On: 2008-02-29

...which may speak of having too much free time. But whatever. I got this game from a friend who hated it, and traded it immediately. He has know idea what he did. If you are a car guy/girl, you will immediately fall in love with the options this game gives you. Tweaking your SRT-10 Viper to make 1000+ hp is just a car guys dream, and since it aint gonna happen in reality, its a blast in virtual land.

Also, the game mechanics and controller input is realistic but the learning curve is not insanely challenging. Seriously, my main gripe with driving games is the cars all handle like crap and I never feel like the games are newbie friendly. NFS:PS is, and makes the transition easy. Your skills build quickly, you feel like you are making progress, and you get cooler and cooler stuff as you go along.

Did I need to buy that Mustang GT-500 that looks like Elenor from Gone in 60 Seconds? No. Did I buy it just to say I own it? Yes. Its that kind of game, one that has a high replay value just to buy that next vehicle, to drop your 1/4 mile drag time under 7 seconds, and to get that level 4 upgrade on nitrous.

I love this game, and Ive got the blood-shot eyes from too many late nights to prove it.
Lame.....     On: 2008-02-25

Very lame game compared with other quality racing games. Dont waste your time. PGR is much more fun as is Forza.
Another weak Need for Speed title     On: 2008-02-21

EAs mediocre machine has churned out another snooze-fest with an abnormal amount of product placement.

You are a potential client of many corporations. Electronic Arts lets you know this from the very first time you pop in the ProStreet disc. Yes, there will be pandering. Of course theres stereotyping of the "import culture". Its got everything you expect in a modern NFS game from an annoying announcer that wont shut up to a music selection consisting of only current pop songs. Its obvious that the game was developed by a committee of suits who are using it simply as a mechanism of further sales.

I suppose theres an in-ad game in here as well. Im not sure what EA was attempting to do in the game when it comes to car control and physics. It seems like the developers played a game with decent physics like Forza 2 and then emulated it in the worst possible way. Theres a poor mash-up of arcade and simulation physics in here and the result is an unsatisfying "feel" when driving. FWD cars will oversteer when you increase the throttle after turning off all the assists (to do so requires a trip down a few menus). Light to moderate braking doesnt lighten the tail of the vehicle as expected. Unfortunately, your choices for control range between simple button mashing and an uncontrollable mess.

Some of the race modes are unfairly designed (such as Sector Shootout). This is because whoever sets the fastest time on a particular section of the track gets all the points for that section. The problem is that you will always start at the pack of the pack and thus the lead AI vehicle will consume most of the points on the first run around the track. There are times when you will compete against vehicles significantly better or worse than your own car which makes the game feel cheap all around.

Theres a nice selection of cars but winning races doesnt earn you much money and thus you wont be able to afford them using in-game currency. Which brings up another issue: Micro-payments in-game. When you car is damaged you can spend real money to repair it. If you want a new car or more modifications you can buy it using real money. I believe its fairly obvious why EA made it hard to earn in-game money. They want you to reach into your pocket and pull out a little bit more green. Apparently, shelling out the money for a video game up front isnt enough as now we are expected to pay to enjoy the game as well.

Id avoid this stinker and select something more enjoyable.
ProStreet Rules!!     On: 2008-02-13

This game is totally cool! I have spent hours and hours playing and tricking out my rides. It is totally realistic, Go for it!
ProStreet isn't so sweet     On: 2008-02-08

I think its fair to say ProStreet is almost as big a disappointment as Carbon. Most Wanted brought us a great environment, good (albeit cheesy at times) cop chases, but most importantly: a game that, when you played it, felt n smooth and creamy - opposed to choppy and slapped together.

But lets quickly examine the pros:
1) Car detail - the 360 (and surely the PS3 as well) pumps out some amazing detail. Tread on tires, creases on the panels, and even the inside dash - cant go wrong.

2) Car upgrades and tuning - Very precise (or so it seems). Customize each aspect as you like it - and they even give you a "test" to estimate how you will function on the road. Great for shaving split seconds off your race time.

3) Works nicely with a racing wheel.

The cons:
1) Track Racing - I think the most obvious downfall of track racing is the ease of - and over use of - using the same piece of track for about 300 different races. And prostreet does this perfectly - EVEN WHEN AT DIFFERENT BATTLE MACHINES (supposedly different geographic locations). And all the other cons with track racing follow too: plain and similar backgrounds, lack of excitement, no traffic, and certainly, no cops. Lastly, Nascar has some great tracks - boring, in my opinion, but many love it - which is probably better suited to the track lovers.

2) Informational Messages - Im just plainly sick of EAs tree hugging "dont race" messages, this is a game not a defensive driving course - save it! I also imagine their "dont race on the street" message has something to do with the track racing the game is based on, and their lame attempts to convey the gratification of local race track notoriety - bah! Not so important, but feels good to vent about. :)

3) Car damage - Im unsure if this is a good thing, a bad thing, or just out of balance. Lets just say its not horribly hard to rack up a repair cost twice the value of the income from the race - especially since YOU pay when THEY hit YOU. They attempt to offset this with repair markers, but the whole system feels off - decide for yourself.

4) Cash or microsoft points? - So how do YOU want to spend your hard earned real life currency? If you have enough, you can simply buy your car - and its upgrades! Microsoft points are interchangeable with game cash, the average car cost is about 200 MSP - roughly $2.50 US. I imagine the question that EA answered with this feature was, "How can we make money off people renting the game?" Heck, lets take it one step further: Exactly how much do you think the upgrades will cost, in both game and real world currency, for that car you couldnt afford in the first place? Im guessing the real genius of this plot unfolds at precisely this point - when you realize you your in-game check book cant balance the costs and you start waving around your credit card for more MSP.

5) No Cops - But why should there be any? It was only the BEST feature of Most Wanted - and Carbon took a stab at butchering this aspect by implementing nothing but straight roads, where losing cops isnt realistic, likely, or even fun (imo, anyway). The cop chases, which for me was the defining aspect of replay value - was probably replaced by the xbox live online portion.

So let me sum this game up quickly: Your driving your choice of many real world cars around a variety of tracks that pretty much all look the same, you cross the finish line a few times as #1, you dominate a "race day" - which wins you a few bucks and a choice of 6 prizes - many of which, part-wise, you probably already own (mostly lvl1-2 for a while). When youre done, you begin the same thing over - at a new "battle machine," with strikingly similar backgrounds, but probably one major difference: off the road... is SAND not dirt... Or dirt, not a fence...

No short cuts, no speed breaker (not entirely horrible, mind you), very little variety, but great looking cars. Are you ready? o=

Great Game!     On: 2008-02-01

Im an adult who plays the occasional game to unwind or with friends. I dont own many games and I dont play very often. But this game is so much fun, not only did I buy it, but I was motivated to write this review.

I havent been a fan of racing games in the past. -They become boring too quickly where everything is the same but the graphics. So I stopped playing them and therefore cannot comment on or compare to any other racing games.

Im amazed with the subtleties in performance between all the different cars. And Im really impressed how much the game lets you modify your car, not only the looks with graphics, paint and add-ons, but with engine tuning and fiddling with the aerodynamics. You really can notice the difference on the track! Faster parts bring dangerous speeds and the need to tune everything just to keep yourself on the blacktop.

The game is actually hard to beat and still fun to play a second time.

Finding the right cars for the right tracks and getting them tuned to your liking will steal more of your valuable time than youll likely admit to your friends.

The downfalls: In story mode, the bosses are really pretty easy. If you have the skills and the right cars to get to the bosses, you crush them with hardly any effort. And as with most story modes, when you do beat the game, you are left craving more (more cocky jerks to win pink slips from) *EA has already come up with a couple solutions to extend our game-play in addition to racing on xbox live.

My suggestion... Buy it. Its one of the few games Ive played that is worth the giant price tag.
WE DON'T NEED A RACING SIMULATOR!!!!!!!!     On: 2008-01-30

This game is a racing simulator, like gran turismo or Forza. The problem is that Need for Speed NFS is supposed 2 be arcade-like. Its not supposed 2 be realistic. I love great graphics, but I want another Most Wanted or Underground. I felt Most Wanted was the best by far. The free roam and the cop chases were amazing. In ProStreet, they took out everything that made underground 2 and Most Wanted great. THERE IS NO FREE ROAM AND NO COPS. The smoke sucks to. For some reason, the game doesnt give the sense of speeding like Most wanted, Underground 1 and 2, and Carbon gave. I didnt like Carbon much because of the layout, the streets became annoying since there was no looped freeway. It doesnt look realistic at all, it would be better if they took it out. The races are very routine and boring. The announcers become annoying as heck. The reason I gave it a 2 for fun is the customization and the selection of cars. I also like that it does have daylight. BUT SERIOUSLY PEOPLE, NO COPS NO FREE ROAM= NOT NEED FOR SPEED!!!!!! If i wanted a racing simulator, i would have gotten Forza 2 which I have. But I was wanting an arcade like game without the overdone powerups and completely idiotic jumps like midnight club. I wanted something inbetween midnight club and Forza2, and Most Wanted was that, but Prostreet is not.
My son LOVES this game!     On: 2008-01-19

Online play is great as well as single player. I have not hardly seen my son unless I go to his room where is xbox is! He loves it!
good game, not so good packaging?     On: 2008-01-12

I bought this for my son for Christmas & it was loose in the case. I was worried that when he opened it for Christmas, that it would have been all scratched up, but it wasnt. This is his opinion of the game:
I think the i got is really fun, and i get really addicted to it too! Im really thankful that is wasnt scratched up when i got the game. If the game WAS scrathed up, i wouldve been mad Fans of NFS - Don't buy this!     On: 2008-01-12

Im a huge fan of Carbon and Hot Pursuit series. Prostreet takes two steps backwards.
Fans of NFS - Don't buy this!     On: 2008-01-11

Im a huge fan of Carbon and Hot Pursuit series. Prostreet takes two steps backwards.
A suprisingly solid performer which departs from the traditional NFS theme     On: 2008-01-09

I have owned every Need For Speed game since the original game, and this game is the one of the best ones yet. Before receiving the game I was somewhat dissapointed by the games radically different structure as compared to recent NFS games, (no cops, no free-roaming etc.) and even more so by some negative early reviews. However, Prostreet turned out to be an excellent game overall.

The game is set in a totally different environment than the traditional Need For Speed. Instead of being an illegeal street racer you are a legal sport car racer participating in events held by different sanctioning bodies. The total immersion into this environment is where the game really shines. You get to travel around the world and race on real life tracks, and partcipate in realistic competitions which feature announcers that really bring the game to life. The car selection in this game is very good, even if you dont consider the many cars available for download, and the graphics and damage modeling are top notch.

Im really glad EA decided to take the NFS in this direction for this game, and more importantly Im happy its not some half-baked game like NFS Carbon was. However, I definitely hope EA returns to traditional NFS theme for whatever title they release in 2008. This should remain a "special" NFS game like what NFS Porsche Unleashed was. But, it made perfect sense for a game like this to be created. NFS Most Wanted is still a great game (one of the Best Need For Speed titles ever) for those who like open road racing and cop-chasing. NFS Carbon is one of the worst games of the series, and is basically just a "carbon" copy of Most Wanted, with a bad storyline, watered done police chases, a drab city, much shorter "time to complete", and overall a terrible production value. Anyway, NFS Prostreet is sure to satisfy me with its "different" style, until a true sequel to Most Wanted hits shelves next fall.

What is with the "YO YO YO HOMIE"?     On: 2008-01-04

Simply put I do not enjoy playing this game and it is now collecting dust. The "DJ" at the racedays, with his "YO YO HOMIE" would be laughable if it wasnt so irritating. Drag racing? Why? News flash! A drag racing video game is boring....It is probably a hoot in real life but to hit the gas and drive straight is, well, lame. But it is part of the game for some reason. I have tried to like this game but its so hard. The cars slide off the road at 30mph. I know you start with a basic car but a 1975 VW bus handles better. Rent it, maybe you will like it. But please do not buy it without trying it.
wish had more cars     On: 2007-12-26

Another year, another Need for Speed game...
by: kinggrim    On: 2007-12-15

Ah yes, its holiday time kids, and you know what that means. Its that time of year when EA lets all their new installments of flagship franchises out on the gaming world, and yes, theres another Need for Speed game. This time around, its Need for Speed: Prostreet, which is a departure from the previous installments, Most Wanted and Carbon. Lets be frank here right off the bat, the best part of the past few NFS games were definitely the cop chases, which are nowhere to be found here. What we get instead is some solid, albeit unspectacular, street racing. That in itself isnt so bad, but considering the run-ins with the law were what helped make Most Wanted so good (and Carbon to a lesser degree), losing them is a huge disappointment. Instead, we get more of the same here with Prostreet: pretty decent looking graphics and cars, a very nice array of online options and solid XBox Live support, and of course, product placement and ads galore until your eyes bleed. Theres simply not nearly enough here to seperate Need for Speed: Prostreet from other games of the type, and its nowhere near as good as Most Wanted, but youre going to check it out regardless of you dig the Need for Speed series. Whether or not you want to lay down that much cash for it though is another question altogether.
worth it     On: 2007-12-07

This game is so under-rated. I think thats because its very different from previous nfs games. And because its so different, it takes a while to get used to. The game is way more realistic. The graphics, gameplay scenery, cars, speed, and pretty much everything is more realistic. It doesnt have an over-the-top story, but in a racing game that doesnt really matter. The racing is top notch. Its difficult, but only if you want it to be. The driving assists make it fun for anyone who wants to play. Casual will make it so you can press one trigger and it will control throttle and brake, Racer will provide a braking assist in difficult turns, and King gives you full control. The game offers things that no other racing games do. The drag racing and wheelie competitions are fantastic. You go through staging to heat your tires before each race, you have to start and shift in the right rpm, but shift too early and you can get a false start, it is definitely the best drag gameplay Ive ever seen. The drift racing takes a while to get the hang of. You have to either use the handbrake or clutch-kick to start the drift and counter-steer to keep drifting. The speed races are insane. It takes nerves of steel and a good reaction time to handle the 250 mph+ on a two-lane bumpy road. The grip racing is great, lots of different and challenging tracks to keep you on your toes. The game is long compared to the other nfs games. Lots of bonus racedays and competitions will make sure you get your moneys worth. The multplayer is similar to carbon. You can jump in and leave a raceday that people make themselves. You can also share racedays and car blueprints. There is a big community for prostreet, which is another reason why Id strongly recomend this game. And to the people who rent the game, actually get near the end and/or good part of a game before making a review!
I believe this is the best NFS yet.     On: 2007-12-07

I was actually quite impressed by this years NFS Pro Street. It is more track related, and alot more realistic feeling as a game. I was not a fan of Carbon, and I really liked Most Wanted. The fact that there are no cops in this one doesnt really matter to me. I prefer the feel of the cars and the realistic damage. Overall I think this is the best NFS yet.
worth it     On: 2007-12-06

Shifting     On: 2007-12-05

I have this and Most Wanted. Most wanted was great, but this isnt far from it overall. What stands out most is if youre into manual shifting for games, this is the one. Its so real it has a clutch unlike most games. U can still set iit for auto, but that takes away from the experience. Plus it has drag racing and pop a wheelie competetion. Instead of cities n neighborhoods it has closed circuits. Its more hit or miss but I enjoy it
Another title to the NFS line up     On: 2007-12-03

Granted most people wont like this game because they dont like how it feels. There is a learning curve that most people have had and are having problems with. Once you figure out the games little quarks on how it works its not bad at all. Its hard to push the cars on the easyest setting because it has auto brakes and more times than not it ends up with you losing control and end up in the dirt.

Once you get farther into the games and have the diffrent cars and upgrades it becomes fun. But it will take time to get there. Your not given the best car right off the bat you have to really work at it to get there.

But with any game try to rent it and play to see if this is something you really want to spend 60 bucks on.
