Great game if you are a rainbow six fan     On: 2010-08-15

I enjoyed playing this game. It not only has a story mode to play in, you can also play small terrorist hunting games. The game also has split screen compition as well as cooperative play. It also allows for online play.
Improved Edition     On: 2010-08-05

Great game overall, the fact that you are able to play co-op history mode is a plus on this edition as well as the experience points you get during the game. Basically same stages as previous edition. But it was fun to play.
warzone     On: 2010-07-11

Great game will keep u busy especially when the heat picks up u will never be bored so go and save the world.
Good Action Game     On: 2010-07-07

Gameplay on this is superb. Over several years of playing the game, I have liked and appreciated it more and more. There is plenty to go back to and re-play in co-op as well as single. The "take cover" control is unique and I would like to see that on more games. But the game is short and wish some more extension packs would come out. The original Vegas is simpler, but I used it as an extension game for Vegas 2 to prolong the fun.
Fun game!     On: 2010-07-07

This game is loads of fun! I think the best part about it is how customizable everything is right down to the actual players outfit. If you want a game that requires a lot more skill and team work than most first person shooters, then this game is for you. This game is a must have for fans of first person shooters!
Love this game     On: 2010-06-21

the gameplay is great just wish they would make a new one with updated graphics but overall rainbow six is awesome
GREAT!!!!     On: 2010-04-15

I LOVE THIS GAME!!! PRODUCT CAME WITHIN THE TIME FRAME PROMISED AND WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION!!! I WOULD DEFINATELY PRUCHASE FROM THIS SELLER AGAIN.
The Perfect FPS!     On: 2010-04-03

This is the best FPS game ever made. Ive owned or played many of the FPS games on the Xbox 360, and this is the one I constantly go back to. This is a FPS made for the adult Xbox player and many of the people I play with on Xbox Live are in their 30s, 40s, 50s and even 60s. This is not a "run and gun" game like Halo or Call of Duty, at least not in Terrorist Hunt. R and G will get you killed in a heartbeat and is one of the primary reasons the "kiddies" stay away.

This game requires skill and patience as did the original Vegas but in my opinion it is not as difficult or as frustrating.

I love the ability to kick players in a game Im hosting. Dont ever lose that ability! The ability to host your own game and select the map is also madly missing from many FPS today! Demand it from developers! Theres nothing that sucks more than being stuck playing the same stupid map over and over again because you cant host! This is not a worry in this Game!

Hugging a wall and shooting around corners is a perfected design in this game. Others have tried to come up with their own method of "hugging a wall" and failed. Ubisoft got it right in R6V and it is still great in this sequel! Other developers need to take note and copy!

Ive played this game for a few years now and seen several changes for the better... Keep in mind during my review that I mainly play this game in Co-op terrorist hunt on Realistic High setting so some of the particulars of the review will reflect that setting in the game.

Several reviews on here have mentioned several bugs that have not existed in this game for some time. The spawn of terrorists in front of you has been gone for well over a year.

This game is a massive improvement over the first Vegas game. Several reviewers on here have apparently not noticed the gaping huge differences!

First off the ability to allow others to join in progress during a game is a fantastic feature but you can still turn it off if you wish. Also you do NOT have to wait for someone to join your host game before you can launch it as you did in R6V. Start the game and play the map as others join!

Every kill adds points towards your leveling up! Unlike the first game, in this one, whether youre playing offline single-player or in ANY mode online, your adding points towards leveling up. Your teammates kills, add points towards your leveling up. Truly, a team oriented game!

You can run now!

You can select 2 primary weapons to carry as well as your pistol now!

You have at least one respawn in terrorist hunt unlike Vegas 1 where 1 life was all you got.

Weapons are a little more varied than in Vegas 1 but Ubisoft, seriously, add a 1911 sidearm already! A few less HKs and a little more variety. Seriously, only one AR/M16 variant?

Several new maps have been included. Wed like to see many more, even if its just the rest of the maps from Vegas 1. Thanks for the bonus Comcast map! It rocks!

Map selection in multiplayer is far superior in this sequel. The host merely needs to select change map and select the new map from a drop down list unlike the squirrely map queue we had to create in R6V.

I love that the map packs are free downloads for both R6V and R6V2!

Awesome!     On: 2010-03-04

I played co-op with a friend for Vegas 1. Even though its co-op play sucked, the game was awesome. When I got my Xbox, this is the first game I played. Sure, don;t expect anything radically different from Vegas 1, but its an awesome game. Only thing I dont like is the guns are many of the assault rifles don vary in stopping power. and two of the LMG are the EXACT SAME GUN. Seriously, the same gun. Also, I cant imagine beating the last Act on anything higher than normal difficulty, but then I havent spent countless hours playing it. Kudos to whoever can.

Also, the co-op gameplay is so much better! You play normally, with just an extra guy to run around with you, so you can breach three entrances at once! Definitely worth playing if you liked Vegas.
Can be a lot of fun, if you learn to play around the game     On: 2010-02-11

This game is a hate love relationship. The story is okay, typical action stuff. A bad guy, a city, a bomb, you need to stop it. I will admit though, how it takes you there is pretty cool, but nothing mind blowing.

The gameplay is great...somewhat.

you can command your team to throw grenades, take out bad guys, clear rooms, ect.

However, you team AI is VERY incompetent. They stand in the line of fire (yours and the enemies) they refuse to climb ropes and ladders (even though they agree too, some kind of glitch prevents them from climbing) they throw grenades into walls right next to them, the list goes on.

Your team AI is bad, to put it shortly. It can really make you frustrated, when you keep dying or failing a mission, simply because of your team AI. When thats the only thing keeping you from completing a level, it can drive you mad.

You move around similar to Quantum of solace. You control from a FP perspective, and you go against walls in 3rd person. You can customize your character with the points you get from killing the bad guys. The more bad guys, the more points, the more gear.

This game isnt bad, not at all. I suggest playing with a friend in co op if youre going to do the story. The ai ruined it too much for me.

Although, if youre a multiplayer nut, this game has a great multiplayer too.
Pretty good game for a decent price.     On: 2009-12-28

Got this game from the buy 2 get 1 free promo back in Nov. Pretty good considering I got it just before COD:MW2 and Borderlands. I like the multiplayer shooting part of the game. Havent played the story yet. So far so good though, especially for the price ~ $20.
Lacked, But Well Compensated.     On: 2009-12-11

Far superior in gameplay than the first one, RSV2 still definitely lacked. For instance, in the campaign mode, wheres Vegas? It is titled part 2 - which would imply that its following the original, right? And why is it that theres only 2 players allowed to enjoy the story mode? The first Vegas had a four player option which was fantastic. WHY get rid of that?

The only thing about this game that saved it for me is the online multiplayer. Terrorist Hunting, Attack & Defend and Deathmatch are present with two new modes called "Team Leader" and "Total Conquest". In Total Conquest, you have 3 satelites to capture (by pressing and holding A for a few seconds) and hold them for a certain amount of time. In Team Leader, you have to escort your leader (via killing all enemies giving resistance in your path) to get to a certain location on the map and/or stopping the opposing teams leader. Very fun modes. One great improvement theyve made is that you no longer require XLIVE to gain XP (Experience Points) to rank up. They took the old point system and made so that what ever game mode your playing, on or offline, your points add up toward your next rank as well as leveling up in "A.C.E.S" points. A.C.E.S are bonus points that get you new weapons, gear and bonus XP for performing kills in a specified way (headshots, killing enemies from behind, sprinting enemies, explosives, in very close, etc. Not bad. You can now sprint for brief moment by holding LB which is something that shouldve been in the original. As far as my knowledge of the military goes, SOLDIERS CAN RUN.

Of course, it isnt without its problems:
*Just like it the first Vegas, enemies in Terrorist Hunt randomly come out of nowhere and surprise you with a quick death.
*Ive also seen enemies shoot and walk through walls as if they were gods. *Achievements sometimes have trouble unlocking JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL Vegas.
*Downloadable Content (maps) Dont show up in my list of selectable arenas to play in. To be honest, this could be just my system that does this...but either way, Ubisoft isnt releasing anymore maps since they pretty much gave up on this title. The maps they DID release are lame duplicates of maps that already exist. Why the hell would I play those same maps at night or "dark"? Stupid. They couldve been new ones to enjoy!
*You still take TOO LONG to peal off of corners and walls because god forbid an opponent should be near by or behind you to silence you.

Im probably the only person who questions the company that makes this game..."Ubisoft Montreal". Theyre in Canada. Um, WHAT THE HELL DO CANADIANS KNOW ABOUT WAR or even making war games? lol Its no wonder RSV2 has so many glitches and thankfully minor issues. Perhaps they shouldve had Iraq as a realism consultant.

Graphics werent as good as the first, yet the gameplay compensated for that. Controls are simple and adaptable --especially if youre an RSV veteran. The sound is naturally great, easily complying with the next-gen era. So with a few issues thatll sometimes aggravate you, they can be overlooked with the fun thats actually there. Well, over XLIVE anyway. The game really is enjoyable, so give it a shot.
The Rainbow Six Legacy Continues     On: 2009-10-27

For the price, this is a pretty good game if you are into the Rainbow Six franchise. The play is very similar to Rainbow Six Vegas.
Best shooter game I have played to date     On: 2009-09-24

I only write reviews when I have something worth reviewing. There are some products that are so bad that you have to comment on. There are some games that are just too good you are obligated. Rainbow Six 2 is one of those games. If you dont want to read the rest of my review, I love Rainbow2 because it is fun, pure fun. I love the enemy AI, the layout of the maps, the weapons, the extra replayability from the terrorist hunt arcade missions. For me, it is one of the best shooters I have played.

Great Game     On: 2009-09-14

Tom Clancys Rainbow Six Vegas 2 was one of the most fun 1st person shooter games Ive ever played. The weapons are realistic and the graphics are amazing. I would recommend playing this game just for the campaign. I have not had the chance to play online for the mere fact that I am deployed in Afghanistan. But every solo console and linked console game play is great.
Great Game     On: 2009-09-13

Tom Clancy and Ubisoft deliver once again in the new Rainbow Six. R6V2 is a great game. Realistic and challenging.
Great sequel still needs work however     On: 2009-09-06

While this is still a fun game to play, a lot of people railed on it more than I would after playing it for a while. It is true that theres barely a difference between the first vegas and this vegas, but vegas 2 has an entirely different way of earning guns compared to the first one, which I believe completely ups the replay value. Still has hit detection issues, spawning issues, and ultimately lazy programming including ais with a reaction time of less than a millisecond... But still a great game and a great sequel, good buy if you loved the first one.
I Might be Getting More Tom Clancy Games After This One     On: 2009-09-03

When you start the game, it takes a while to install the software and load. It took a little longer than other PS3 games Ive played, but thats very minor. If your patient, you should get to playing the game.(BTW, I didnt play the first RSV) Heres a little review of what I thought of the game:
--Guns: 10/10
I dont know much about guns, but theres a wide selection to choose from. You have your shotguns, your machine guns, your sniper rifles, etc. and they all have different features that you would want in battle. You can also choose a gun thats equipped with a shield, which I find to be pretty useful even though it doesnt make you invulnerable. Youre still vulnerable with the shield but it takes away a lot of damage. Then there are guns like sniper rifles. You can zoom in with these guns, obviously, and take out enemies that are farther away easier. Im not going to start describing all of the categories, you get the idea.
--Other Weapons: 10/10
Again, I dont know much about grenades and all of that stuff but there are, again, a lot to choose from. You can easily use these weapons with the press of the circle button. Theres a variety for this, too. Theres one that emits smoke and covers up your movement. Theres the classic grenade that just blows up. Theres one that emits a dangerous smoke that damages your enemies a little. I dont know their names, but theyre useful.
--Character Customization: 8/10
First you choose the obvious stuff like gender. Then you choose their face, their equipment, etc. You can even change the color of the equipment to match the environment (ex: woodland camo for a daylight area with some plants, black for those missions in the night, etc.). When I made a female character, there wasnt much faces to choose from and when she commanded the team to an area ("go, go, go!") she sounded sort of weird, like some monkey. I havent played with a male character, so I dont know about them.
--Graphics: 8/10
You dont always get the feel of realism when it comes to graphics. Theyre well done, but Ive seen better. I dont care much about graphics, though, so thats all Im saying.
--Other Actions: 10/10
Other actions include hiding behind walls, using ropes to get into places, and commanding your team around. There were a lot of actions to use and I liked commanding a team of two people around. You cant do that in a lot of games.

I just beat the game, and this is how I feel about it. I think its pretty good, even if you dont have two people you can command around following you all the time. The end was pretty quick. Just shoot the guy at the root of everything, so there isnt any concept of a final boss in this game. Overall, a good buy.
Great Buy!     On: 2009-09-03

This game is a great buy. What I liked so much about it is that it is challenging, and you just cant put it down. Terrorist hunt and co-op are both a lot of fun, as well as versus. The graphics may not be top notch, but they do not disappoint. Overall, it was well worth the money. Recommended.

More Options Than RSV1 Great Shooter For The PS3 Oh By The Way, The PS3 Slim Is Fantastic...
can't give rating - game never received !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     On: 2009-08-29

It is a shame to let individual sell items on your site and not provide any response!!! Take our money and run!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rainbow Six Vegas 2     On: 2009-08-23

this game is worth the money i bought it to have a game to play during summer break and i can say it did its job. The single player is where i played most of the time and it is fun and takes about 8-10 hours. if your a fan of socom or fps this game is worth it
A must have game for any console     On: 2009-08-18

Now that this game has been out for a while the price has dropped and I have to say this is a mush have game for all consoles. I have it for the 360 and the game play is very realistic.

Game Play:
Much different from the first installment Vegas 2 is a much faster paced game. It is still fun and for the price now I recommend this game for everyone of age to purchase it. The game is still realistic and the controls are much like the fist but now with sprint capability. Body armor still seems to be the only unrealistic part of the game. A fully loaded soldier should not be able to sprint with every pice of heave armor on. My two cents though. At times there can be frame rate issues and this is much more common in multiplayer online mode when there are 10 or more grenades going off at the same time. Also there are random spawns so there is no more spawn camping as there was in the first game.

Bad:
Online players seem to choose the same 3 maps over and over so that gets really old but if you have patients you room should fill on other maps. There are random spawns but this leads to players spawning right behind you with a spawn shield. Very bad... Some frame rate issues. Other then the things I have mentioned this game is beautiful addition to my collection.
Decent game... Could be better.     On: 2009-07-28

I never played the original one, but recently worked my way through to the last level on this one. Overall I think its a pretty sweet game. I love how you can customize the character to your liking in the game to fit the mission. However, the one thing I think that the developer missed on was the playability. Generally speaking, once you get to know the controls - you are good... But if you are used to something like Call of Duty 4 or World at War, I think youll probably be a little disappointed. But again, once you get used to the movements - youre good. I would categorize the playability of this game just below Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway.
Awesome Shooter!!     On: 2009-07-03

Excellent first person shooter with a great storyline and the multiplayer terrorist hunt modes are awesome!! Highly recommend!
Most fun I've ever had in a shooter     On: 2009-04-26

I never played the first Rainbow 6, I just jumped into this one. All I can say is R6V2 is the best shooter Ive ever played. The single-levels are super challenging in either lone wolf, team, or online modes. The control is superb. Using cover in this game is better than in any other game Ive played. I have a lot of fun playing this on XBOX 360. I used my XBOX camera to apply my own face to the character on-screen, some people apply bogus pictures to their characters such as T-800 or Darth Vader, pretty creative fun little extra. If you liked any Tom Clancy, SOCOM or COD game, you might like this one best of all or at least as much. Plus, as with most Tom Clancy games, there are TONS of great FREE dlc available.
A relatively solid game.     On: 2009-04-22

I didnt really have a problem with the game. Then again, I did like Army of 2, so take from that what you will. I will tell you the main reason why I did dig Ao2, is the 2 player co-op. I never played the solo story, which I am going to assume much of the fuss originated. Me and my brother usually kick the snot out of co-op games together, such as GoW, Ao2, and this game.

What I really dig about this game is you get to create your dude, fully customize him, etc. You get to pick your weapons, much like Ao2 but without the intricate customization. Furthermore, it even plays like GoW and Ao2, but without productive blind-fire, unless you are blind-firing close-quarters with a shotgun. Unlike Ao2, using silencers and whatnot is actually useful. Me and my brother by the end of Ao2 just went ahead with the pimped weapons and dropped our silencers because it made little difference in the gameplay. Having the option to go either way was good. Im more of the silent type anyhow.

I dont know what to say other than I really enjoyed the game. The thermal vision somewhat skews the depth perception, almost like looking through a funky lens and... Maybe as it should be, depending on how close the enemy is will determine if he picks up on the thermal scan or not.

Really, the only big beef I have with Vegas 2 was "faux pause." Im really surprised nobody mentioned it, but all pause does is bring up the menu while the game still runs in the background. I considered that the utmost of pathetic, you pause and get up for a second, coming back to find you died. Its sad to think you have to be in some kind of "dead zone" to pause the game. This is where my rating comes from, since there is no kind of "breaking from the game" without the risk of a game over.

Other than that, I digged it.
Vegas2!!!!     On: 2009-03-31

Ive liked this game since the first one it has longer campaign and some changes in gameplay like sprinting, and ranking up just by playing the campaign... Good game overall online is just as fun great multiplayer maps and their free!!!
The Best First Person Shooter Ever Produced!~!     On: 2009-03-21

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is the best shooter game ever made; If you like, enjoy and value; (1) Realistic small arms warfare engagements, headshot is a headshot. (2) Advanced Customization of your online character that will affect your play because you can decide how much, and where to place different types of anti-ballistic armor. (3) Being able to use active duty small arms weapons used by special forces all over the world ! Pistols, Snipers, Machine Pistols, Light Machine-Guns, Shotguns and the most commonly used, Assault rifles. The assault rifles are quite mathematical in this game as, they each have unique recoil patterns after being shot, put a 6x scope on yours to experiment!
I havent been able to play this game, because i scratched the R6V2 disc, and i like this game so much, now that i cant play it, i dont even play xbox360, because this is the only game worth playing, if you are all about hardcore realistic shooting game, play HIGH STAKES if you have true skill!

Dont miss out on this game, COD and halo cant compare because they arent realistic, they are made for kids, this isnt a childrens game , as there is much blood, especially when you get headshots, buy this game for sure!
If you dont have xbox live, this game is still replayable and will last long, if you do have xboxlive, your good to go!
Rainbow Six Vegas2 Review     On: 2009-03-18

I buy games in order to have fun, this game is fun. The game play looks realistic, but one thing would improve game play and that is the ability to go prone. Imagine being in a real battle and not being able to lie down to hide or snipe. Still, the game is entertaining and worth buying.
still holds up     On: 2009-01-25

i know that RSV2 is a relatively old game, however, i would suggest that any FPS fan buy the game. if you like COD4 or other realistic FPSs this is the game for you. the single player campaign is intense and always interesting. i would rather play co-op single player than live. this my favorite game that i own.
Excellent game     On: 2009-01-07

Lots of fun, and given that its generally cheaper than full retail now, worth picking up
life ruiner     On: 2009-01-06

this game has ruined my life because all i do is play it...it is so fun.
Awsome Game     On: 2008-12-14

I Beat This Game, And This Game Was Fun. I Didnt Get A Chance To Play Part 1, But I Was Able To Play This One. This Was Worth The Money And Time. I Really Enjoyed This Game, This Was Worth Buying.
Great FPS for One Player or Multiplayer     On: 2008-12-12

I picked this game up as soon as it was released. I was a huge fan of the first series and this series is improved upon. The XP system works well. You still get XP from your teammates kills. There are A LOT of upgrades available in this game and I am still working on them. The way to upgrade is through 3 different kill requirements: Close Quarter Combat, Marksman, and Assault. You gain points by doing different tasks which fall under each category. The ability to dash is a plus. The online play is a huge improvement with some old maps with a lot of new maps included. There are a variety of modes to play. I like the ability to jump into any game instead of having to wait for a timer countdown or for a specific number of players to join before the game even starts. The online play is HUGE improvement over the first Rainbow Six.
The campaign plays well, yeah, there really isnt any "Vegas" involved but that doesnt have any negative affects on game play. One gripe is that the difficulty level could be taken up a notch. Im not good at tactical FPS but I was able to "breeze" through realistic mode too easily I think. One last note worth mentioning, the commands to control youre A.I. teammates is very easy to use which comes handy when youre in the heat of battle. Overall, anyone looking for a great offline and online co-op shooter game should add this game to their collection.

Unbelievable!!!     On: 2008-11-30

I am 31 and have played a lot of games in my life. This one is the most addictive and coolest game ever!
A Shooter for the Intelligent Gamer     On: 2008-10-22

Gameplay - 9 of 10
RSV2 stands out in a crowd of shooter and FPS games that inundate the markets today. As a tactical shooter you have to actually use your brain to stay alive - much like real life. The action is SWAT type. In this case youre hunting down terrorists. Being able to kill quickly and efficiently will keep you alive the longest. Running into a room guns blazin will get you killed quicker than you can say Halo. A full cover system is implemented just as in the first game. Youre able to hide behind anything that will not expose your body and some that you can still be killed while behind. You are then able to reveal yourself from the side or the top of the cover. Here youll need to stay behind metal or dense materials to prevent getting killed while behind cover.

Youre of course able to pick up dropped weapons left from dead terrorists. A really nice feature is the ability to mark two enemies at a time with red boxes over their heads. Youre teammates-Michael and Jung can then target them first. Along with this thermal satellite is available on occasion to see where enemies lurk. Snake cams for under doors is a great help and almost necessary to keep you from getting killed. So many real life gadgets were implemented into the game to provide amazing gameplay. For some reason this game was not marketed at all or it might have done much better.

Features - 7 of 10
Unfortunately RVS2 is not a feature filled game. You have three essential parts: your achievements (rank and A.C.E.S.) terrorist hunts and online play. Despite this it keeps you captivated. Your rank follows the hierarchy of military protocol, youll start out as a Private and by gaining experience eventually get to the rank of Elite. Experience is gained by killing terrorists; 10 xp on the realistic difficulty 5 xp for normal and 3 xp for casual. If either Michael or Jung kills someone youll earn half of the aforementioned xp, unless they are "marked." Along with this you have three other ways of ranking up much much quicker. This is called A.C.E.S. Within this you have Marksman, CQB (close quarters battle) and Assault. For example, if you kill someone who is very close youll get CQB points normally 2 or 3 at a time. On the other hand if you shoot someone in the head, youll get points for Marksman. So on and so forth. On the lower levels you may only need 100 CQB or Assault points to the next level and the reward.

After reaching a certain number of A.C.E.S. points youll level up. This is separate from ranking up. And with the level up youll earn rewards such as new camo, weapons or clothes. Terrorist hunts are a way to hone your skills to advance in the storyline or play better online. There are a dozen or so maps loaded with terrorists waiting to kill you. These are also a good way to gain rank. Online play is an absolutely necessary part to todays videogames. RSV2s online play is pretty standard, kill the most of the opposing teams players to win is one of the few game types. Surprisingly it is fun. People are a lot less high strung here than on other online games. If youve played Counter Strike back in the day this resembles that. Youre able to pick all your equipment at the beginning of the game or at your respawn. The maps are direct derivatives of the mission maps.

Story - 5 of 10
Bishop is your character and he appears to have been with Rainbow Six for a while now. He looks like a man of 45-50 years old. The first mission is diffusing a bomb in the Alps or something which was five years ago. Essentially you kill terrorists and then the classic Greek tragedy happens.

!!!!! Spoiler !!!!!!
Bishops old friend and teammate is behind all of the terrorists and is the person youve been chasing the whole game. Im not really sure how much more cliché you can get. But I didnt buy the game for the story so it really isnt a big deal.

!!!!!!Spoiler!!!!!!!!

Weapons and Armor - 8 of 10
Possibly my favorite part of the game is the weapon choice youre given. Submachine guns, shotguns, sniper rifles, pistols and assault rifles are all on the itinerary. What makes the weapons quality is that they are all real. From the classic HK MP5 to the P90, these guns are what bring true realism to the game. Each has characteristics of range, damage, accuracy and magazine size. And the differences show. There are also tons of add-ons and changes that can be made to the weapons. Laser sight, ACOG scope, rifle scopes and many more accessories are available. Explosives come in six types: frag, incendiary, C4, smoke, flashbang and breaching charge.
The weapons are just so well executed. Being able to change the rate of fire is really impressive. Some weapons even have three rates of fire. Each weapon has a clear difference when shot as well. When you shoot the shotgun, the recoil throws your aim off by about 5 feet, while the SMGs will take a whole clip to do the same. When you hit the enemy there is a satisfaction when the bullet hits. The real challenge is being disciplined enough not to blow all your clips. Accuracy is paramount not only to survive, but also so you dont have to pick up the lame terrorists weapons. My only qualm with the weapons is youre not able to use some of them until you get quite deep into the higher ranks.

Graphics and Animation - 6 of 10
The graphics are forgettable at best. Weapons and people look decent and have a good amount of detail, but lack the super realism everyone is wanting now. The rest of the visuals really resemble a polished xbox game instead of a 360 game. Light and reflection seem to be missing. Most lines are blurry and the detail is unfortunately an afterthought. The guns do however look very close to their real life component. Camo has the most detail in that the shapes are clearly defined and lines give a very realistic way to hide your character. If youre a graphics connoisseur more than a gamer, youll be underwhelmed. Animation and character mapping on the other hand, is fairly lifelike. When you shoot, the weapon recoils and Bishops shoulder moves back. When you kill a terrorist, he falls to the ground in a heap, instead of doing a double backflip like in the movies.

Controls - 9 of 10
I hardly ever give a perfect score to one aspect of a game, and this is no exception. However the controls in RSV2 are just brilliant. The right trigger does what youd think-shoot. Left trigger is the cover button, which makes a lot of sense. These are the two things youll be doing the most. The (A) button gives orders to tell your teammates where they should be. (B) throws grenades. (X) brings up a graphic which changes your weapons add-ons and rate of fire etc. (Y) changes your weapons (this can be done more quickly by just tapping (Y) instead of holding it.) Right bumper gives night vision or thermal goggles. The D-pad allows you to determine where and what type of grenades your teammates should throw. The back button switches from weapons free (shoot on sight) to return fire only. The control sticks do what they always do. Grenade throwing is the only serious downside. It is VERY slow and clumsy. Youll hit the (B) button and the delay is about 2 seconds. Not to mention you cant throw accurately more than 15-20 feet.

Conclusion
1.) Top notch gameplay
2.) Rock solid cover system
3.) Extensive real life weapons cache
4.) Controls that rival the best FPS
5.) Rewards for leveling up

If youre looking for a departure from the normal shooters, you might find this to be a diamond in the rough and an easily overlooked game. 7.5 out of 10.

R6V2     On: 2008-10-02

Great shooter indredibly fun. Although a lot like Rainbow Six veags 1 it still keeps me entertained. Online is fantastic and has a ranking system similiar to COD4. Highly recommend is a heap of fun. If you like COD shooter this is a MUST buy.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas for a reason.     On: 2008-09-13

Ubisoft has managed a rare treat with Rainbow Six Vegas 2; they managed to accurately portray what its like to go to Las Vegas. Vegas is an interesting city, even if you dont gamble or party its a fun city to go to just to visit and sightsee. Youll go and have a great time and when you get back, youll start talking to other people trying to plan a trip back. The thing is if you go back too soon, you realize Vegas isnt all that fantastic. The city hasnt changed, but its not as good as you remember.

This is Vegas 2. The first Rainbow Six Vegas was a fantastic game with an interesting backdrop of being in Vegas. While the sequel doesnt add anything, the game plays the same and it feels like an expansion of the first game. While not necessarily a bad thing, somehow Vegas 2 just isnt as fun as the first game. If youve played Rainbow Six Vegas, youve played Vegas 2, but now theres new levels. Let me make this simple - graphics, audio, gameplay all the same as R6V.

The biggest addition is the A.C.E.S. (Advanced Combat Enhancement and Specialization) system. In which you are awarded points for the various ways you can kill enemies. Whats nice is the A.C.E.S. and rank arent restricted to multi-player; you can now earn XP and A.C.E.S. in the single player game as well. Now, you can go into multi-player after playing the story and have better weapons and armor unlocked. It also means, you dont have access to the full arsenal of weapons throughout the game, but luckily enough you keep enemy weapons you pick up. It can easily make you change the way you would normally play the game. If a certain weapon you want is opened up at a certain level in the assault A.C.E., you might try to earn those points and change up your own style. Its nice because it can add some variety and almost forces you to experiment with the game play.

The enemy AI is pretty good, theyll try and flank you and take cover when available. The problem is that its very easy to get stuck at a part and have to re-do it multiple times and if you do you can know exactly where the enemies will be because it doesnt change. For the most part, I have had some encounters that played out differently, but it generally is "cover here, shoot here, that alerts this other guy here, now shoot here", etc., etc.

I really liked Rainbow Six Vegas it was one of my favorite games of 2006 and I thought it was better than a lot of the stuff in 07. Unfortunately, like real Vegas, Vegas 2 is exactly the same, but just not as fun. It did feel more like an expansion than a full-fledged sequel, and Im glad I didnt pay full price for it.
Co-op comments     On: 2008-09-02

My neighbor and I enjoy playing co-op split screen first person shooters. We played R6V1 and felt it was very entertaining in its tactical gameplay. R6V2 gave us more of the same. There are few split screen co-op games out there for the XBox 360 but this is one that I would recommend. Not as much fun as Gears of War or Halo 3 but better than some of the others (Army of Two, Kane & Lynch). If you are looking for this type of gameplay (two player, split screen), then I would recommend GoW first, then Halo 3, then the Rainbox Six series. You may want to put R6V1 between GoW and Halo 3, not because its a better game, but to mix it up a bit and not have two military FPS games in a row.

There are several others coming in Nov 2008 (GoW 2, Saints Row 2), which should add to the fun.
FIVE STARS NO MATTER WHAT.     On: 2008-08-28

Alright..... yes..... it feels more like an expansion than a real sequel..
But i still give it five stars.
The enemy respawning thing is awfull...... they give you things like sniper rifles to ..... kill your enemy from far away, as you can do in the ghost recon series, because they populate the map from the beginning of the match, but here, you just have to wait until you arrive to a checkpoint to see eight or ten tangoes popping out of the air in front of you.... no surprise factor at all...... you are the only surprised one.
BUT............ FIVE STARS.
Not so many new weapons, but.......... five stars.
WHERE IS THE M14???????......... but ........ five stars.
No VINTOREZ either..... but.... five stars.
This game, like its predecesors, is the best CQB FPS there is.
If they manage to populate the maps from the begining of the matches with enemies, they will score seriously and gameplay will improve drastically.
FIVE STARS to this game.
Over Too Quickly     On: 2008-08-22

Pretty much everyone who picks up Vegas 2 has completed the original and knows that the ending is just the beginning. Except that it isnt. Instead you step back five years and complete a mission that doesnt really seem to make a lot of sense unless you look very closely at your team. Of course, they dont wear name tags so they have to get wounded for you to confirm their identities. So, you play through the memory scene and pick up the action in Vegas before Vegas 1 actually begins.

The interwoven storyline is one of the best features of the non-technical side of the game. It still seems ridiculous that Rainbow has randomly stashed crates of weapons and ammo throughout Las Vegas and that you seem to carry some sort of universal sound suppressor for every conceivable weapon (except sniper rifles). But realism has never been Rainbows strong suit.

While the game is harder than the first I did not find it too difficult to complete as a single player. The realistic setting will ensure that youre zapped by a tango sniper any time one is around. Situational awareness is key in Vegas 2. The new scenery is fantastic - especially battling through the backyards of the cookie-cutter houses (reminded me of Phoenix really) and the sign graveyard.

Technically, I had no issues with the game and believe that Ubisoft continues to put out polished work. The controls and layout are easy to work with and customization is pretty easy to figure out.

Overall, the game was a blast to play - although the final scenes took some frustrating replays (have to take my own situational awareness comment to heart). But I have to say that the game seemed quick and was over sooner than I would have liked.
Rainbow so so     On: 2008-08-12

This game is just alright, after a few thrills and maybe chills, its a regular shooter. Nothing about it seems original or unique. However, the game is rather entertaining to play online if there is no lag. Bottom line, there are other games out there Id rather play. But thats just me.
Decent shooter but very hard     On: 2008-08-09

Basically the same as the the first , but very hard. Some missions I must have played 10 times or more to get past.
Great CQB Team Shooter     On: 2008-08-08

Looks like Ubi did not put too much effort on the visual design, and maps are usually small and inside buildings. However, teambased online gameplay is great and emphasizes on simulation detail. E.g. different weapons and ammo provide different results, tactics help. Nice one.
As fun as the original     On: 2008-08-04

I am enjoying this game as much as the first Rainbow Six: Vegas, they are very similar games. If you have not played the first one I highly recommend it to fans of FPS games.

There are some differences in part 2 - you can sprint now but I dont use it often since most of the time Im hiding behind a brick wall. There are armor options I dont remember from the first game and some other neat tricks - like now you can have your AI partners throw grenades which is nice.

All together, nothing revolutionary here but as a huge fan of the first game I wasnt looking for much to change, more of the same is still a lot of fun.
R6V2 is worth playing     On: 2008-08-03

R6V2 was the first purchase I have made of this series. I have to admit, its a great game and worth the purchase.
Finishes what the first one started.     On: 2008-07-20

Not enough new here to stand on its own but for those who liked the first game its a worthwhile completion of the story.
:0)     On: 2008-07-19

Gaming wasnt bad for me but i was disappointed with the online gaming. ok wasnt worth the keep after beating the game.
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2     On: 2008-07-18

This is my favorite game for PS3 by far, I love the ranking system and the online play.
The Single player is fun as well, but I love to play online.
xbox360 rules, ps3 sux     On: 2008-07-17

any game played on the 360 is awesome, but this game was amazing. graphics are great, gameplay is sweet only thing i wish there were more maps. and terrorist hunt needs to allow for more than 4 people while on system link. other than that a 10 for sure
Worth every penny     On: 2008-07-07

Ive played quite a few FPSs in my day, and this one sure is a lot of fun to play. In addition to the expansive single player story, the Terrorist hunt missions are a lot of fun too. I have a blast playing online with my buddy who just moved to another country. I highly recommend this game.
Great game for first shooter lovers     On: 2008-07-04

Raimbow Six Vegas 2 meet my expectations but it is not the best first shooter game available in the market. Once you complete the game in every mode, the multiplayer mode is not easy since it is very realistic. So you can not play like a wild soldier (i.e. Call of Duty 4). In summary, it is a great game, the history mode is new given that you play with a new character (not as Logan - Raimbow Six Vegas 1) and there are new abilities that will enjoy them. You can also customize your character every time you advance to a upper level.
Only bought it for the bonus!     On: 2008-06-30

I bought it ONLY for the poker chip keychain for the bf. He loves the keychain but the game, well, he already played it. Whatever makes the man happy. =) I do remember watching him play it and the graphics were quite good.
Great Shooter game     On: 2008-06-29

Im new to the Rainbox 6 games and Vegas 2 Limited Edition is my first time I ever played a game like this and I now see what Ive been missing! The limited ediition comes with an extra CD that has a lot of helpful hints, strategies and tips on how to play the game on and off line. Being a newb to this genre of gameplay getting the Limited Edition version helped my gameplay a lot. I would definately suggest anyone who hasnt played Rainbox 6 before (like me) and looking for a fun shooter game get the limited edition. Play the game for a week then watch the extras CD. It definately helped me to understand the strategies within the game.
Excellent Game     On: 2008-06-29

This is an excellent game! Better than the first R6V, in many ways. The Co-Op though the entire campaign, and over XBL, then the bullet penetration for the kill through cover moves all make this a very worthy step up from the previous Rainbow Six games. I have enjoyed every moment playing, and then to be able to just drop into a friends game to help him through a difficult area makes for a great gaming experience.
I can only say that the only drawback that I have seen is the continuation of the triggering the enemy system. Where you enter an area and then get to a specific spot and then the enemy comes barreling out of all corners. I really wish that they could have taken a tip from early Ghost Recon games and just set up static roaming patrols, and then also your stationary guard this point enemies. The triggering system makes for an unrealistic gaming experience when you tend to scope and snipe, before moving into an area.
But that does not take away from the overall gaming experience for me. I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy playing this game, both solo, or with friends, and across XBL. I would defiantly recommend it to any FPS fan.

The EXACT same thing     On: 2008-06-28

I played through the first game and had a fun time with it, and I bought the second because of the lame ending of the first. If you liked the first game, youll like the second. I cannot really tell a difference. Move checkpoint to checkpoint and kill the terrorists in between. Thats basically the game.
good game     On: 2008-06-20

got into this and beet it in like 8 hours mabey less, the onloine fun is there, but no improvments, still have your buggs they never fix
720 at best !     On: 2008-06-17

I was really disappointed with this game, although I only paid 29.99$ for it when it was on the lightning deal, but still I was shocked when I put it on and it only supported the 720 output so my HDMI cable was absolete I could have gotten that on the component.

The keychain looks cheap, actually the whole case looks cheaply made.

Overall its OK.

Not as good as RSV1     On: 2008-06-16

If you get this thinking it is a sequel, going to start off right where RSV1 stopped then you are not going to be happy! This is more of a paralell story than a sequel. It should not have been called Raibow Six Vegas Two. Maybe RSV1.5 but not RSV2. I really wish the very first mission would have started out exactly where RSV1 left off.
The game is short, and online offers nothing better than RSV1. Basically, it does not live up to the hipe and expectations. I gave the fun level 3 stars as I do enjoy this style of gaming but enemies span in right in your face and kill you in terrorist hunt, not all shots are equal. One shot from a shotgun might kill one bad guy but the next might take an entire magazine. The AI pulls miricle shots, shooting with thier gun facing a different direction but you die anyway. Campaign may be short but it is nice going through it with a friend.
It seems they pulled a GRAW to GRAW2, should have been downloadable content instead. At least GRAW2 added some "new" toys RSV2 only added the ability to sprint. Play Call Of Duty 4, it is better.
Hard for me to understand the LOVE for this game.     On: 2008-06-10

I rented it. The graphics are average at best. That alone tuned me off. I play COD4 and its just not close. The player customization is crap, again because the graphics are so poor, especially for the times.

This game could have been GREAT. Id give it a 7 and thats being nice. I just dont understand these 9 plus reviews.

The game is flying off the shelves it appears.
Awesome Shooter Type Game     On: 2008-06-09

One of the Two games I bought for my PS3. The other was GTA4. As I got older, Ive been playing less games, focus more on work, work and a bit of sleep.

Ive watched my nephew playing RainbowSix Vegas 2 on his X-Box. Never care for it, was a bit afraid to even give it a try. Didnt know how to use the controls. Then on Memorial Day, got a PS3 with the games as a gift from my honey.

Ive played with RainbowSix for a couple of days and I was hooked. The graphics are EXCELLENT on the PS3. I had my setting on 720p. The controls are smooth. The Bots are pretty smart in this game, they dont stay in one place shooting you. Stilling learning as I continue to play this game. But most of all playing as a team with my honey is the best.
A big let down     On: 2008-06-08

I found the first Rainbow Six Vegas to be much better than this one. RSV2 seemed like a mediocre expansion pack as opposed to a sequel. I expected to see more of Vegas throughout the game. Aside from the nightclub, one casino floor, and portions of the convention center, the locations were boring and bland. There are more graphical options in this one than in the first (can enable AA, etc) however that doesnt make up for its shortcomings. Its also a shorter game than RSV1, and in certain areas you can tell they increased the difficulty in an attempt to extend the gameplay (since everytime you get killed, you have to start over from a checkpoint which can get maddening.) If you havent played the first Rainbow Six Vegas yet, get that one instead- much more variety, better locations, and more fun in general.
Online Update Ruined The Game     On: 2008-05-28

I was a big fan of the first one. And I liked this one before the software update which ruined the tactical aspect of the game. If you are interested in this type of game, buy Call of Duty 4, its a much better game in every aspect.
awesome if you never played the first     On: 2008-05-28

This is a great game. Best cover system around. The main gripe by most people was that it was not that different from the first RB6V. So if you havent played the first one, pick this one up for sure. If you liked the first one, expect more of the same.

Also, they have released an update(patch via Xbox Live) that fixed most of the technical issues at launch.
A tiny step up from the last     On: 2008-05-28

I am a big fan of FPS and this series in particular. I wasnt going to buy this one, but when Amazon marked the Limited Edition down to $29 and I had a $25 coupon credit (with 2 day free ship) I couldnt pass it up. The series is tight, and a top 5 FPS on any system. If you cant get a deal, I would wait as it is not much of an upgrade.
quite a bit rushed     On: 2008-05-27

having enjoyed the original RAINBOW SIX VEGAS i was really looking forward to getting this. i was looking forward to playing this online. man was i disappointed. almost to the point of being p****d off. no respawns on ranked play. as soon as youre dead thats it. and i thought SPLINTER CELL sucked. i wouldve given it another 6 months to fix all this crap that couldve been done. if they wouldve waited longer fore more to be done or given us regular deathmatch as a download then i wouldve rated it better. Mr. Clancy we want a better installment for RAINBOW SIX VEGAS 3 this time.
Good game but only if less than 30 bucks     On: 2008-05-27

Well, it is a good game with nice graphic. Fun game play fast action. Enough maps to choose for multiplayer. Easy control, even I played with my kids thru LAN. The new game cost $ 49.99 but now dropped down to 29.99. Good buy. I got mine from ebay with 19.99 + shipping. about 24 bucks used. As I mentioned, you should buy this game if it dropped cheaper than 30 bucks. You wont disappointed, believe me !
Retread of good game equals junk     On: 2008-05-26

I just finished wasting my time on yet another video game. As you can tell by the title it was Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. And as you can also tell by the title I thought it was a total piece of crap. Now, I really liked the first one, Rainbow Six: Vegas. It was a lot of fun. The story is kind of vague but enough to pay attention to and know what was driving the story. This game, Vegas 2, is like the ultimate phoned in piece of junk I have ever played. Somehow they took a fun game and made it tedious and repetitive. Zero new in the game. Somehow the AI is dumber. Audio mix ALL over the place. half the time I had no idea what people were saying because of fire too close by, or we were in a helicopter or they appeared to be mumbling about something I assumed was plot related but usually didnt matter since you cant really get lost or proceed past your objective. I really cant say anything good about this game. When it was too hard it was like pretty insanely hard at the normal level. When it was not hard it was just repetitive and annoying.

Possibly the lamest thing was that the fact that your AI soldier guys say like 3-4 things MAX. So if you like hearing "WHO-AA!" or "Anyone keeping score?" or "Tango Down" or some variation youre in for a treat! If not it get really boring fast. Next thing about them is that they get stuck. Like in a puddle of water. Or behind a barrel about 3 feet tall. And when that happens they wont come when you call. The only way to free them is to nudge them out from what they are stuck behind. This happens when there is clear way around the objects they are caught behind. Its some weird glitch. So more than a few times the game comes to a halt and you have to go back and figure out where and what your guys are stuck behind.

Then there were audio glitches where the sound of a machine gun would go on and on and on for no reason until you paused the game. Also if you ran to fast you could see the bad guys generating. So youd sprint ahead and look into an empty building and then pop suddenly there is a guy there and he is shooting at you.

Go back, buy the first one and then pass on this one.
A Disappointing Return to Sin City     On: 2008-05-25

When the original Rainbow Six: Vegas was released, it took the gaming world by storm, quickly gaining a large number of dedicated fans thanks to its unique blend of first-person shooter and duck-and-cover gameplay styles, its groundbreaking online multiplayer, and its compelling storyline.

A year later, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 has hit with much anticipation from fans, and the results are largely a mixed bag. Well start with the campaign.

The games storyline is a bit of an unusual route for Ubisoft Montreal to take with its much-hyped sequel, opening with a prologue that takes place years before the events of the first one. It serves largely to set up the characters that will impact the narrative later on. From there, the game moves to the present, specifically a matter of hours before the original. The majority of the game serves as a prequel, and then the last two levels pick up during and after the events detailed in the series previous entry.

In the game, you play the part of a grizzled instructor for the Rainbow Counter-Terrorist Organization named Bishop, who is called back into action when Las Vegas is brutally attacked by a large terrorist cell led by Irena Morales.

The campaign, while only about seven hours long, is a blast to play through. Although the story lacks the ability to draw you in like the first one did, and only the last level of the game feels like a necessary part of the Vegas storyline, the gameplay mechanics have remained largely the same, except for the inclusion of the ability to sprint, which comes in very handy when the enemy is raining fire down on you. The squad commands and cover system are unchanged, giving players a sense of welcome familiarity.

But the majority of Rainbow Six players are in it for the multiplayer, which is where the game is lacking. All of the multiplayer modes (team deathmatch, retrieval, etc.) return and have been mostly unchanged. The first disappointment players will notice is the lack of new maps. While there are a few, the majority of these are just updates of maps from the last few Rainbow games, with slight changes that are barely noticeable.

Another problem with the online play is that in team deathmatch mode, players are now respawned at a random location rather than having a set home base, making it nearly impossible to work tactically with your teammates, which is what the original Vegas game was famous for. Now the online play feels more along the lines of a run-and-gun rather than a tactical shooter.

Besides this, the online is extremely glitchy. I cant count how many times Ive seen a random object floating in midair or how many times Ive been pointing my weapon straight at an opponent and unloaded only to have them survive taking thirty rounds to the chest.

There is one change to the multiplayer that was a smart move on the developers part, though. In the previous game, a player ranked up according to how many rounds theyd played. Now the ranking system relies on individual kills, making it judge the player off of skill level more than anything else. This also gives people an incentive to play all the way through the campaign, as kills against AI enemies also gives you points with which to rank up.

Overall, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 isnt a bad game, but in the wake of the original, one cant help but be disappointed. Even though the campaign is enjoyable, the storyline is hindered by its unnecessary need to be both a prequel and a sequel, and the multiplayer is (for the most part) an unfortunate disappointment.

Storyline: 7.5/10
Graphics: 7/10
Sound: 8/10
Multiplayer: 7/10
Overall: 7.3/10
Grade: C

More fun then the Last Vegas     On: 2008-05-24

This game is just what I expected from the folks at Ubsoft as a sequel. All the things that I was bothered with were fixed e.g. how you could not see where your rank progress was, opening of weapons, and other equipment. Plus now your weapon settings stay the same so you dont have to keep putting on your scliencer and single shot after each time you get waxed. Plus the AI are more difficult, and realistic. Some times you will be shooting at one AI only to be flanked by his buddy. Well done and I look forward to playing any other Rainbow 6 installments.
Great if Flawed     On: 2008-05-24

The original Rainbow Six Vegas was a well constructed game, and very fun despite its few problems. So I was eagerly looking forward to the sequel. I was not disappointed.

The core of the gameplay remains the same. All the mechanics from the first game are in here as well. In fact, if you ignore the new features, it would feel as if you were playing the same game. Unfortunately, this means that you kept the downsides as well, but more on that in a minute. The added features come as a welcome addition. The ability to do a scan and see the position of bad guys occasionally is really nice. It adds another layers of strategy onto of a already strategic game. Also, the ability to throw either grenade without having to switch which is equipped is also a bonus. It allows you to think more tactically in a situation, and react with more options.

The AI is still a problem, both for you and for the bad guys. Even on the hardest difficulty, the enemy AI is both stupid and prescient. They react in the strangest ways, taking cover in areas that are completely open and acting spastic. At the same time, even if you do nothing, they know exactly where you are and their aim is unerring, which is a little annoying. And as bad as their AI is, your team AI is worse. At times its like having to direct a band of retarded monkeys. They will often just stand getting shot at until you give them direction, not even bothering to get cover. When assaulting, they will move to their attack points, and stop. Their aim is as bad as your enemies, and you will find yourself having to do most of the heavy lifting.

The story itself is passable, and eventually picks up at the end of the first game, which is nice. It is still the standard, goofy FPS plot-line, but what can you expect.

Overall, this is a fun game to play, and worth both your money and your time.
Screams unfinished.     On: 2008-05-23

I really wanted to like this game. I was really hoping this was going to be a more polished version of Vegas 1. Instead the game seems to have started that way but was pushed out the door long before completion.

The story mode seems to feature more attention to detail than the rest of the game. Multi-player story mode is fairly nice as far as the maps and the gameplay. I really wish they had not trimmed it down to just 2 players in that mode. The AI teammates controlled by player 1, are not incredibly useful other than to act as cannon fodder, luring out bots that have phenomenal accuracy and psychic tracking abilities. The overall storyline is quite forgettable IMHO.

Other gametypes are hindered. Terrorist Hunt has numerous issues. The way the bots spawn in is downright hideous at times. Features have been taken from the control of the player such as the number of respawns. There are countless bugs in the game some major, and many minor. They scream "unfinished" or "hastily slapped together" and it is my belief that this game was released before it was completed. These hinder what would otherwise be a very fun installment of Vegas.

Great game     On: 2008-05-23

Once again, I cannot believe the disappointing reviews given for this game. You have the right PC, and all the right equipment, the game works great. I usually only play story mode. And I have found no major issues with it. Very few issues, major or minor. Really only one or two. Mike and Jung keep getting stuck in certain spots of the game. You have to go back and push them around to make them come back with you. But, this problem occurs very rarely and only in one or two areas of the game.

As far the story goes, two things puzzle me. Mike and Jung join Logan after they storm the theater with Bishop. Gabe disguises himself as an NSA agent and misleads Bishop all the way in the train yard. This happens on July 3rd - the same day when Logan, Mike and Walter go to rescue Gabriel from Dantes Casino. The time span is very small - Gabriel sure travels extremely fast between the two locations. And I guess we have to assume that Bishop was unconscious for a really long time after he was knocked out at the train yard. If not, Bishop would have already informed Logan about Gabe being a traitor, before they hit Nevada. This part of the story is really confusing.

While I believe its a great idea to have your design your own character in the game and while I believe that it was thoughtful of the creators to allow female rainbow fans to choose a female character as the lead, I seriously think Vegas 2 needed more of Logan than anybody else. Or alternatively, they could have made it look like Chavez was back in the field temporarily in a time of crisis. A new Bishop character was both unnecessary and unrealistic, when viewed in light of the previous rainbow stories.

It is also unimaginable to see Logan playing such a small role towards the end after he took down a major character in the previous game (Irena). I dont know if this is the actual Tom Clancy story or not. So, I am not qualified to comment on the story.

But, overall, the game is great. None of what I mentioned is sufficient enough to warrant a rating less than five stars. Graphics are excellent, far less difficult than Vegas 1, which may or may not be a good thing. Music fit the levels and situations perfectly!
Another really short first person shooter!     On: 2008-05-23

I like almost every thing in this game the weapons, scenarios, controls, and the characters, the only down size is the fact that the game could be ended in 6 to 8 hours with no hurry, so for the non on line player thats a huge down size even though Ill give four stars because I really like the game play.
Great stuff     On: 2008-05-21

This is a great game. The most amazing part of the game was definately the terrorist hunt. Playing the terrorist hunt in lone wolf mode was great especially when you play it with a friend. Great game and Ubisoft should just keep em coming!
A resounding Meh     On: 2008-05-21

Single player was fun, but the multiplayer was a frustrating experience. I sold this game.

I was hoping for more. I was hoping this game would overtake CoD4 as the best multiplayer game, but it certainly didnt. I had fun with the single player, but I just couldnt get into the multiplayer. It was not worth $60.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2     On: 2008-05-18

The folks at UBISOFT have done it again. From the very start it is action packed. Lots of new suprises in the game that continue to make it one of the best running PC games on the market. I look forward to the next episode in the series.
Great Multi-Player.     On: 2008-05-12

I picked this game up a few weeks prior to GTA IV coming out. I really enjoyed it, and feel that the multi-player is really where this game excels. While I do enjoy Halo 3 for what it has done for the gaming community, I prefer "real" shooters to "futuristic" shooters. In other words, I enjoy shooting true-to-life weapons versus plasma alien rifles.

The single player, story mode is a short, but I can easily fill in the time with the multi-player and terrorist hunt modes. Clearly not as good as C.O.D. 4 - simply for the record.

As many others have mentioned, if youre looking for a "continuation" of the original Vegas story, then you might be disappointed. If youre looking for a solid XBox 360 shooter, this is where its at. Worth the purchase.

Good Tactical First Person Shooter     On: 2008-05-09

Great addition to the series. The lead character from the previous game has been removed in this installment and you now have the option of having the player create his or her own character to play through the campaign, very cool. A few new features as running for a short distance and being able to give some new commands to teammates such as throwing grenandes is a big plus. On-line play a big plus. Overall, nothing groundbreaking but a good tactical shooter.
COOL game     On: 2008-05-09

i played the 1st vegas & i liked sooo much ,maybe "NOT" the best of shooter games but it was fun to play ,& now the 2nd is released ,well if the 1st was great then the 2nd will be the best ;)
Great game if that is the type that you are looking for.     On: 2008-05-07

I purchased this game without knowing too much about it and also without playing "Tom Clancys Rainbow Six: Vegas 1". I had recently been introduced to "Call of Duty 4" and immediately became obsessed with the multi-player aspect of the game. Many people online playing "Call of Duty 4" were all talking about this new game coming out and how great it was going to be (referring to "Tom Clancys Rainbow Six: Vegas 2"). I was in such a first-person shooter frenzy that I bought RSV2 as soon as it hit stores. I must say the gameplay in RSV2 is very slow moving compared to the run-and-gun style that COD4 is, and that I have come to love. RSV2 is a tactical game and you need to take your time analyzing the situation before you take any action. Not my style, but that doesnt mean its not your style. So like I said in the title, A great game, if that is the type youre looking for.
Vegas 1 is still the king.. but this one isn't too shabby...     On: 2008-05-06

I am close to a 1000/1000 score (less than 10K XP to go for elite) and I thought it would be a good time to review. Overall the two games are very similar. Graphics are slightly better in V2. I like the new XP system- ranking up to elite is much easier than V1 (more obtainable goals = more fun to play in my book). Villa is a great MP map. Also T-hunt seems more fun to me on V2 (albeit tougher AI). That is where it ends though. Vegas 1 had (hands down) a better story mode. The MP maps on V1 had a much more classic feel- better balanced. Fortunately Kill House and Streets made it to V2. I was going to buy V2 for a friend (uninitiated) as a birthday gift but now I am seriously considering V1 instead. It is just a better game. V2 is still a decent sequel though 4/5 stars for me. V1 gets 5/5.

Gave this game to my grandson,he loves the game, but has had all sorts of problems with saving the progress of play.It saves your game for you,but it has also erased his progress 3 times. Not a happy boy.We have had problems before with games made by UBISOFT.So beware!!!!!!
Seriously in need of a patch     On: 2008-05-02

Check the UBI forums before purchasing so you know what youre getting into. If you can get it to play correcty, its a great game. There are, however, MANY issues that render it unplayable for many people. I myself had to do a few reg tweaks, ini edits, and multiple updates to drivers for it to even play playable. Its still has some highly annoying issues, but is really fun to play. I havent tried story mode, but I hear it has even more issues than online mp.
Better than the last one     On: 2008-05-02

The game play is just like the last game with a few minor exception(running and tagging hostiles) that just improved game play.

Great co-op, but not at the expense of solo campaign     On: 2008-04-29

Despite giving the impression of a "more of the same" sequel prior to launch, RSV2 managed to win my heart in ways the first could never imagine. There are still a few problems, but overall the game is adequately polished and highly addictive.

A tactical shooter, by definition, is geared toward teamwork and strategy. It only seems natural that such a game should offer a truly superb cooperative experience and RSV2 does just that. Be it split-screen, co-op campaign, or even terrorist hunting, there is a heap of great team-oriented play to be had here.

The best part is that in delivering a co-op smorgasbord, RSV2 (unlike certain other co-op focused games) didnt sacrifice the single player campaign. With seven acts consisting of several scenes each, youve got hours and hours of solo play available as well. The scenes and environments, though not particularly unique to Las Vegas, are extremely detailed and offer wide variety. My favourite place involved an indoor rock-climbing facility- an extremely creative idea, in my opinion.

The pièce de résistance for me was the character development through experience. Your character, complete with the myriad of possible unique armour, clothing and weapon combinations, are persistent throughout any game mode- online or off.

For all its glory, though, the game is not entirely without flaws. As cool as most of the unlockables were, some just didnt make sense. Who thought that pink camouflage was a great idea for a high-level reward? The AI is also still more A than I, with terrorists stupidly running into your crosshairs despite how many already felt your wrath. Your teammates can also be complete dolts when it comes to ordering grenade tosses or staying within the cover of their own smoke.

In spite of these minor blemishes, the bigger picture of RSV2 is still quite magnificent. Online or off, there is enough replay value here to last a very long time. If you can only buy one shooter right now, this may be the one you want!
To every game maker- Keep trying     On: 2008-04-28

This game is worth the purchase. The best thing is that you CAN play split screen COOP with someone else in your own living room, which is mostly how I play it. The worst: tossing a grenade is a joke. Be ready for a limp wristed toss that falls far short of your intended targets and blows you up. This is not the case in COD4. Another surprising problem is that you cant climb every rope that enemies use to repel down. Why not? This game is NOT as entertaining as COD4 and has nowhere near the production quality nor story quality in single player. Online play may be good. I am still hoping for a local coop mode in a COD game. When that happens I may buy two just to up the sales stats to show there is a demand for it. Come on IW, get with it.
Excellent Game     On: 2008-04-28

An excellent game and is very fun to play. It is quite difficult, but with time, you will get the hand of it.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2     On: 2008-04-27

This game is very much like the first but has sprint, new guns, and new maps. The maps I think are a little worse then the orginal but the guns I think are suprior to it. The sprint is definetly a huge benefit.
Okay considering the poor graphics,     On: 2008-04-27

I got this for 20.00 on amazon...I knew it was going to be a poor game in so many elements. You cant use SLI with it or you get problems--not that you need it if you have 9800gx2s like me. I maxed everything out on this game and it still looks like an xbox game...lol. As for fun, well, its pretty bland in that area as well. Grainy graphics, stupid AI. Your teammates with get stuck in holes..lol. You have to push them out of walls, etc..what a joke! However, as a fan of the original, I wanted to pick this up for cheap. I feel sorry for those people who paid 60.00 for this game on consoles. This game is worth about 20-30 dollars. Its that poor! More or less, its like an expansion. Dont buy this game for more that 30.00!
Where is Vegas? Expansion Pack Really, Bugs make it unplayable     On: 2008-04-26

My favorite levels in R6V1 were the casino levels, without that you would have just your typical generic shooter terrain and this is what we have in R6V2, theres absolutely no reason to have Vegas in the name. If youre going to have a "sequel"(Full Price Expansion Pack) to an amazingly beautiful game like the first one dont let us all down in the same way GRAW2 really blew it with a short storyline and the generic terrain.

I played the first one through many times, this one I dont see playing through more than twice so the value is just not there; like most sequels they get you with the first one and phone it in after that, dont pay full price for this game, you can get the first one for five dollars and get a much better experience. I would not pay more than fifteen dollars for this one.

The many bugs in this game make freezing and CTD a common thing that I just took the whole thing off my computer it was so frustrating. I patched to 1.01 and it was actually crashing more! This game has technical issues as bad as Gears of War did and of course ubi is no help. So avoid this one for a while if you are looking for a smooth game that is worth the price.

The controls are the same as the first one, which worked so well so why change it?

For me the customization is meaningless as I play single player only and to me seems a little tedious with the colors, etc. The weapons are all pretty much the same, one thing I didnt like was the locked weapons and the stupid points system to unlock them, please do this for online only where it makes sense.
It would make more sense to have the advanced weapons available at the more advanced difficulty settings during the single player campaign.

In sum Ubisoft and the R6V team really let us down with this one and dont reward them by rushing to buy this , even if you loved the first one and have waited anxiously for a sequel like me.

I didnt finish Vegas 1 because the graphics were below average. I had just finished COD 4, so maybe I expected more from Vegas 1. I bought Vegas 2 used, only one available and I think it scores high next to COD 4. The graphics are great, but I do have a concern with PS3s on line play. I had a lot problems playing on line with COD 4, so I cant provide online reviews for this game. Im strictly single player and not on line. So far its worth buying for the story mode. I usually start the play at a difficult level, but I recommend you start off on the lower difficulty level so you can learn the game play.
Ubisoft best foot foward     On: 2008-04-25

The best way I can describe this game is extension pack. No different than the first one. As a former fan of the Rainbow six series Im embarrassed to say that I was a fan in the first place. Ubisoft has indeed let its loyal fans down in its long awaited answer to COD4 with this game. As much as I hate to say it I guess Rainbow might have peeked to its peek, I guess its time to take ol Rainbow to the back of the barn and put her out of her misery with a COD4 air strike. Ill defiantly be returning this game back to Gamestop for a real game.
Same Vegas     On: 2008-04-24

R6 Vegas with new maps. The graphics are a little better but no Crysis. There are some bugs that have not been addressed. The campaign seems way too short and with ammo crates every twenty feet, its too easy even on realistic mode. The best part about the R6V2 is the co-op story, with dialog (as apposed to its predecessor). The ability to customize your character as you progress through the story was cool.
Better graphics than its predecessor is about all you get...     On: 2008-04-24

My friends and I enjoyed the first rainbow six vegas game, even though it had its fair share of quirks ( no 1080p support, online issues, no co-op ). In buying the second game I expected quite a bit in terms of improvement over the first, but I was definitely let down. The graphics are improved, the story mode is anti-climatic, the online play is broken and suffers from disconnects and plenty of lag. At best this game deserves to be rented, I wish that I had waited to read some reviews rather than picking this game up on release day.
Yeah! Where is Vegas? Vanilla Levels     On: 2008-04-22

I completely agree with the previous reviewers point, where is Las Vegas in this game? My favorite levels in R6V1 were the casino levels, without that you would have just your typical generic shooter terrain and this is what we have in R6V2, theres absolutely no reason to have Vegas in the name. But what is with that, if you are a 3 man team saving the world youll have any weapon you want from the start. It would make more sense to have the advanced weapons available at the more advanced difficulty settings and leave the points crap.

Well, I beat the first RB6V a month ago. I just bought RB6V2 and the game is an improvement over the first. Sure, it looks the same as the first, but there are some new features. First, you can customize your character on the story mode. Then, there is a points and rewards system. Here, you can get different kinds of points for different things that you do. This is called the ACES system. For example, if you are more accurate with your shots, you get Marksman points. Using gadgets, such as breaching a door or using a grenade gives you Close Quarters points. If you successfully opponents defenses of shield and cover, you get Assault points. This is just a hint of the points system. The more points that you get, the more you can move up in rank. Moving up in rank can unlock different weapons and gear. This has a little more to offer than COD4 because you can unlock differnt things, such as helmets, more heavily armored vest, uniforms, etc. They seem to be copying COD4, but they actually reward you more for your achievements. Plus, you dont have to play online to do so. You can also run in this game as well. Like I said, the game is pretty much the same, but it has improvements that makes the game rewarding to play.

RB6V2 is the absolute best shooter out right now. I have them all and I enjoy this one the most. I loved the ability to customize your character to your own liking and the ablity to save your rank as you progress. Not only in the story and multi player mode, but online as well. This is a great game. I can never put it down.

game play was ok, but online was more like a chore, my son is the gamer(27) and he was really disappointed after all the hype he heard about it!!
More like Ghost Recon, but still fun!     On: 2008-04-19

Excellent squad shooter! Why did the US Govt only send three men to fight off an entire army of terrorists that have invaded a major American city? Fun? Yes! Plausible? No. Customizeable Character? Heck-Yea!

All said, I miss the original-style Rainbow Six 6 format of Clancys initial vision of anti-terrorism/hostage rescue military operations. The graphics are great and the game play is fun, so Im not really complaining. I just wish the folks running the R6 development would pick-up Tom Clancys R6 excellent novel and get back to the true roots (at least as I saw it). One level being a significant plausible event of terrorism/criminal activity calling for highly skilled SWAT-style intervention with all the tangos dead on the floor.

I personaly would prefer that R6 series does not become a Call of Duty clone. Running street battles and major combat contentions are great video game material and extremly fun, but its not what R6 was supposed to primarily deal with. R6V2 is a great squad shooter and worth renting or buying.
Fun in bursts, but rent before buying if you can     On: 2008-04-19

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is overall a solid game. However, it is not without its problems. Its generally a guarantee that, with the right person, split-screen will be more fun than standard single player mode, although this is the case with almost any game of this sort.

Story mode is entertaining. Its a standard iteration of the Rainbow Six games for the most part. You have your weapons loadout to start missions, where you can choose from a variety of assault rifles, submachine guns, sniper rifles, etc to help you on your mission. As you finish missions and gain experience, you can increase your rank in the game, which comes with upgrades to appearance.

In addition to leveling up your rank, you can also earn three specific lines of upgrades by accomplishing certain goals in one of three categories--get a headshot to score marksman points, kill an enemy in close range combat for "CQB" points, or blow an enemy away with something explosive for assault points, for example. There are 20 ranks in each category, the rewards of which alternate level by level between giving you experience toward ranking your character up overall, and unlocking new weapons to use from your weapons loadout.

Ultimately, the game has a few problems, mostly enemy related. It can be frustrating seeing enemies who know where you are even if youve been just about dead silent, and remained out of sight. It doesnt happen often, but when it does, it is nearly bad enough to merit yelling at the TV. The other problem I have is enemy spawning. Its worst in "Terrorist Hunt" mode. In R6V2, enemies spawn as you approach certain points in maps. I suppose its to save processing and graphical power, but still, its problematic. There have been occasions when I have opened a door, gotten ready to charge in with a smoke grenade and my thermal goggles, and before I could do all that, I had to take out an enemy that literally appeared in front of me. His back was turned so I got the first shot, but even so, this sort of thing is sloppy and takes away from the gameplay.

Still, the inclusion of split-screen makes me happy, as does certain abilities, like the ability to equip a silencer on most weapons, or switch between full auto, burst, and single shot mode.

Ultimately, I would recommend this game to anyone who wants to play locally on one TV screen. If, on the other hand, youd prefer playing a shooter online, I would advise checking out Call of Duty 4 as an alternative. They are 2 somewhat different games, as CoD4 is not based on squad actions, but in the end I think it is a higher quality game, unless the split screen/cooperative gameplay is a big deal to you.
Disappointed     On: 2008-04-19

I bought this game a couple of days ago and started it immediately. Played through it the first time on normal and beat it within in 6 hours. Thinking it would be more challenging on realistic I switch the difficulty. First off lets just say the AI is retarded, they are in the same spot and do the same actions as normal difficulty. Second they still cant shoot, I died once on realistic, only because I forgot about a sniper. If you are looking for a challenge, look somewhere else. For online game play I cant speak for that as I havent played it online. This game is a disappointment for graphics and gameplay in the story mode.
Should have been called 'Rainbow 6 Vegas 1.5"     On: 2008-04-18

I was totally disappointed with the game especially after loving the first vegas. My problem with this sequel is that it played it too safe. There was not enough change to make it feel like a sequel. The gameplay is still a blast but it was just as fun two years ago so I felt like I was playing an older game. This is a bummer because games should make one feel like their playing something new even it it is similar. This game suffers from a lack of imagination. Even the story of the first game was better than this. Generally the game is enjoyable but definitely not worth $60. I would recommend waiting until this game is $20-30. Even the multi-player does not stand out out with games like Call of Duty 4 out there.

First of all there are not many games i would buy. This is one im considering going pick up. great co-op play.. i have membership with gamefly cause after beating games i dont play em anymore. i only own 1 game rite now, Halo 3 (Great Multiplayer & ONline Play). let me say COD sucks, i didnt like that game. i totally love tom clancy games rainbow six and my favorite series Ghost Recon. This Vegas 2 game is better than first game, settings save for your weapons. ya i live in vegas, only the convention center was similar to actual thing. i rite away put on realistic setting, its tough. I consider myself pretty good at games, but not great. the guy who said he beat this game in 8 hours, ya what on easy setting. the solo mission rite before airport is fricking tough. i rent games often and this is one of the better ones i played in a while, its worth buying it if you like tom clancys first person shooters. the online is the board mission with online players, which it should of been maps verus 8 other online players would of been more fun.
this is a great fun game     On: 2008-04-17

This game is fun and great. Theres nothing wrong with this game you people should give things a chance either that or you suck at shooting games, but this is a fun game. The story mode was great the stages were great with nice background and design, and the graphics are nice. Terrorist hunt is fun to even when 2playrs, so this is a fun game.
this game is great     On: 2008-04-17

whoever put garbage need to stop sniffing that crack cause this game is awsome this is way better than part one people put comments like that either cause they wasnt giving it a chance or they really suck at shooting games pity you otherwise this game is great tom clancys games are all ways fun realistic and the way you play it is great awsome game
It could be better!     On: 2008-04-16

I have been a Rainbow Six fan since the begining of the franchiese. There have been some good ones and some bad ones. The first Vegas was owesome, I spend countless hours of fun in that game playing retrieval with friends, but in Vegas 2 I am dissapointed because theres no Retrieval. I think Ubisoft released R6V2 too early because the game is full of flaws. Ive finished the story mode in Realistic but it didnt gave me the achievement for it, neither the achievement for Private First Class and some times when Im playing my screen goes into slow-motion. I think you can still have fun if you play with a bunch of friends over XboxLive.
Great Tatical Shooter     On: 2008-04-15

I usually dont buy tactical shooters because they are too complex, but R6V2 called my attention because of the co-op component. After playing the demo for the first game I decided to buy this one and have been pleasantly surprised. The gameplay is solid and the A.C.E.S. system is a good new addition. My only complain is that so far Ive had the game slow down on me several times which causes a severe framerate drop and audio delay. This is frustrating since I die often as a result and to fix the problem I have to turn off my Xbox 360 to continue playing normally. Other than, that this is a great game and I highly recommended it.
Great game!     On: 2008-04-15

One of the best FPS games Ive ever played. The single player campaign is short, and while some may say the story is forgettable, I found it gripping. There was never a dull moment throughout the single player portion. Multiplayer has so many options, that it will allow almost any fan of the FPS genre to find their niche and have a great time.

Production values are an improvement from the original Rainbow 6: Vegas. The game is visual stunning while the ambience of the music sets the mood. Sound effects for weapons and equipment are realistic, however some voiceovers of the terrorists are repetitive.

Overall, this is one of the best FPS games to come out this year. It will give any fan of the genre limitless options in their multiplayer adventures, yet still provide a solid single player campaign. A must buy!
A little old, a LOT of NEW     On: 2008-04-15

I may be a bit biased writing this review, since my love for the Tom Clancy series of games is widely known. I will try to do this as objectivly and non-fanboyish as I can:

Pros:
This game has been very well designed from the start and improving on the first game, I thought, would be quite difficult. However, the graphics are sharper, the weaponry is more real-world (i.e. the guns in silenced are less accurate and have less punch) and they added an XP points and achievements system to the co-op and story mode portion of the game, instead of just in multiplayer. The addition of the last thing and the co-op story mode made this game 1000X better than CoD4 or any previous Rainbow 6 title.

Cons:
While there arent many, Id say that most of the maps are either too small or too big and Id like to see some more variety in the Terrorist Hunt missions. I think the controls can still be a bit clunky at times, although fine motor skills are way better in this game than the first Vegas title. The one other thing Id like to see is better/smoother online experiences. The servers are too slow and they still have a "host advantage" at times. Nothing is perfect and it depends on connection, but hopefully they can iron this out soon.

Overall:
9 out of a possible 10. A good buy if you love FPSs!
Same 'Ol Reliable FPS     On: 2008-04-13

Sure, I miss the glitz from the first game, but the series has always been pretty much the same w/the exception of its ever-evolving control and command scheme; These games are now 2nd nature to fans in terms of control, and everything worked smoothly for me. If only Army of Two had taken a nod from any of the Tom Clancy games in this regard. I also appreciate the fact they put in a casual gamer option. While not for me, I know people just starting out on console gaming, let alone a FPSs, could use the help at first. Colorful and intense, this game is just fun and great at what it sets out to do. We all know what to expect from the series by now, and this delivers more of the same...in a good way. Nice ranking upgrades in single player mode, as well as weapon selections and upgrades. The character model selection is also kind of fun. However, some better locations and more shiny, bright lights would have made this a five star game.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2     On: 2008-04-12

Engrossing! I loved the gameplay improvements, storyline, and the replayability of it. I have always been a Rainbow Six fan. This game has all the heart pounding action and set in a realistic background. The storyline ended a little too movie like though. Myself I would like to keep the cliffhanger thing going so that I will stay hungry for the next installment. In a nut shell I had a great expierience playing this game. And thats what counts. If you want a game you can get lost in with real weapons, really smart bad guys, great location, huge sets, and the ability to kick some terorist butt? Then look to this game to give it you. This game should be ranked right along side of Call of Duty 4. Myself I love the online play better than the game, because of the people you meet and fight with are just like christmas (you never know what you going to get). As a recently retired service member this game has more realistic action than people who have never been in a fire fight would care to know. Buy this game!!!
A break from CoD 4!!     On: 2008-04-11

I love my PS3, most would agree that there arent a lot of titles out for the system yet but things are seeming to be changing. Since January 08, I havent been able to put down CoD 4, I havent even beaten the single player mode; all i play is the online portion! In my opinion, CoD is the best title right now that Ive played. Based off of the demo, Uncharted looks good, Burnout Paradise is nice, Resistance is cool, DMC 4 great, Stranglehold garbage, Medal of Honor is a rental, Tiger Woods finnally grew on me, and a few others just, barely stood out for me.

On to Rainbow 6 Vegas 2. I have a dilemma because I didnt play the first one so I have no gauge like the rest so I cant say hoew similar or disimilar the two are. As far as I know Vegas 2 is the best of the series. Its no CoD4 where it allows you to just "run-n-gun" The gameplay is strategic and its a good idea to use the team they give you. Features like the snake cam will allow you to peer under doors with a camera is a cool feature. You can tag enemies according to which one you want to attack first and then open the door, throw a flash bang and carry out the assualt. The controls arent overly difficult either like the old Rainbow 6s. You aim at a point and hit a button and thats where your team stacks up to, the commands are really easy to learn and execute. I had no issues with lag or framerates, could be my equipment.(not cheap) Or it could have been the updates that fixed them, so no probs there. All I know is, this game and Burnout Paradise have been the only games to get me away from CoD4.

Edit: 4/15/2008. Found some thing I didnt like. If you join a game online and the "host" has a slow connection, the game is very glitchy. I have Cox HSI running about 24 Mbps Down and 5 Mbps up, when I host a game its flawless. Its starting to get repetitive with the snake cam under doors, and the open and clears, and the breach and clears; its alomost too easy-technically you dont even have to ever shoot at enemies- just send in the troops and if they get hurt, you act as a medic and hit em with atropene or morphine or whatever. All in all I still am digging the game though; Still not as good as CoD4 but it still provides a break from the heated multiplayer antics of CoD. Itll probably end up collecting dust or get traded for store cred at GameStop once GTA IV lands provided that GTA lives up to the hype, and it probably will, just like it always has.

Garbage     On: 2008-04-10

What a disappointment. Aside from the fact that its basically a rehash of the first episode, my copy of the game was/is plagued with all kinds of bugs /technical glitches...the most annoying being the fact that the game cuts out 3/4 of the way through playing the primary storyline. I get a Disc Unreadable error and then it craps out. After several attempts to get ahold of ANYONE at Ubisoft, Ive resigned to just selling it at Gamestop without even completing the game. Awful.
Rainbow Six Vegas Ver. 1.5     On: 2008-04-09

Lets be very clear; Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is a very great shooter BECAUSE of the implimented cover system and the experience points system. WIthout these two things the game would be just another boring shooter. Sure, the tactical squad based commands are very neat, but your A.I team mates are so stupid that its easier to just take on the enemies yourself.

I was never a huge fan of the original Vegas title, having only played it for about two weeks and making it through only about half of the campaign mode and a few online Terrorist Hunts. I can honestly say that Vegas 2 only marginally improves upon the original in terms of controls (Ubisoft added a run button) and a slight graphical overhaul. Everything else about Vegas 2 is pretty much a mirror image of the original Vegas title.

The campaign mode is fun, if only for a little while (once you play online the campaign becomes moot), but the A.I of the enemies and your team mates is really atrocious. Your team mates will face in the opposite direction that the enemies are, they will shoot walls, and they will act like idiots. Your enemies are no better, as they will sometimes stand still while you shoot them, or they will run into your grenades. Seriously, we are in the 7th (?) generation of video gaming, you would think that developers would have nailed A.I by now. I mean, these are supposed to be ruthless terrorists, yet they act like cardboard cut-outs most of the time. I guess Im being a little harsh, since in practically every shooter the A.I is bad.

As far as a storylines goes, I pretty much ignored it. That is to say I could care less about it because it wasnt that interesting. What more do you need other than "Go here, shoot this"? Sure, they try to incorporate Tom Clancy cliches here and there, but for the most part I gave up trying to understand what was going on.

The notable feature is the cover system (think Gears of War or Metal Gear Solid). This seemingly minor feature really changes up the game play. Since Rainbow Six is a First Person Shooter, a cover system really helps out the gameplay. Being able to sneak around and hide behind boxes, walls and doorways is an awesome feeling. I cannot even stress how important it is for a modern shooter to have a cover system. It should be standard by this point in gaming, but alas it is not.

During the campaign you have the ability to commmand two team mates. You can have them move anywhere you want, breach a door way in a number of ways and disarm bombs. This is a fun feature, but since the A.I of your team mates is very poor and inconsistent, the implimentation of this particular aspect of game play can be pretty pointless at times.

Another cool aspect of the campaign mode is the snake camera. Similar to the snake camera in Splinter Cell, you see what is behind doors before entering them, further adding to the "sneaky" aspect of the game.

The campaign is somewhat short, but it does have its share of fun. Fire fights can get pretty intense, but there are no major "WTF!?" moments (think Call of Duty 4 Nuke scene). No, the real meat and potatoes of this game lies in the online portion. There are a variety of modes to choose from, you can either go at it solo in deathmatch or in Team Deathmatch. There are also different variations upon the team deathmatch (some protect the leader/kill the enemy leader game type). By now, in our 7th generation of gaming, these different types of deathmatch are all standard fare for a shooter such as this, but they are fun nevertheless. It is in the online portion of this game that I truly fell in love. I cannot describe the feeling I get when I am sneaking around the map, searching for camping enemies; the sound of gunfire and grenade explosions erupting in the distance. It is such a rush.

Another amazing aspect of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is the experience point system. Similar to Call of Duty 4, you gain experience for every kill you make during an online match. Unlike Call of Duty 4, you also get experience for every kill you make during the campaign mode as well. You can also score points by how you kill as well. This is called the A.C.E.S system. Headshots go towards Marskman points, up close and personal deaths cout towards CQC (Close Quarters Combat), while grenade kills and breach-type kills count towards Assault points.

Graphics - not so great. I mean, they are worlds above the original Vegas title, but in comparison to games like Gears of War or Call of Duty 4 or Bioshock, the graphics just look dated. Come one Ubisoft, why are the graphics so bad?

Well, I would highly recommend Rainbow Six Vegas 2 because I think it is a very fun and highly engaging game online. The campaign is lacking a little and the graphicals are certainly not up to snuff, but there is much enjoyment to be had here.
Great Sequel and Enhancements over Rainbow Six Vegas     On: 2008-04-09

This is a great sequel to Rainbow Six Vegas. The new A.C.E.S. system lives up to the hype. The ability to rank up offline is a great attribute to have and really makes you think a bit more about your game play style.

The unlocking of weapons not only by rank but by A.C.E.S has made things more interesting. If you really want a weapon, you either need to find it in game and pick it up (and never replace it until its unlocked - what I did for my D.Eagle.) or you need to focus on the particular A.C.E.S. type activities to get to that level.

The guns overall are pretty nice, FAMAS is still the noob weapon of choice. I personally prefer the SCAR-H CQB and the M468, both rock.

Having a silencer on a snipper rifle is also great to have. Several areas in the game its a lot easier (and more fun IMHO) to sit back and pick most if not all of the Tangos off one at a time w/o the rest even realizing it.

Also, getting experience for Kills is great (even getting some from your AIs kills helps out)

The first few days it was out the online gaming was basically dead, but now that its been out for a couple weeks, theyve got most of it fixed and Im finding plenty of games w/ no-lag.

Also, going through the story mode, I only saw one place were the frame rate dropped - this is actually a better experience then usual when comparing to many other FSPs.

Great game, worth the money.
A different Vegas     On: 2008-04-09

Not the Vegas we all know. But, a pretty good game nonetheless. I like the new terrorist hunt for quick killing. I do think the AI is a bit better and natural. I did find more bugs than R6V1. I would occationally, unexpectedly just die...no enemies in sight...just dead. I would also sometimes randomly drop into a part of the map Id previously been. Near the end, as I was about to fastrope to the airport hanger with the white lear jet, I suddenly was transported back to the previous map, in an area I could not get out of....trapped. No biggie, but anoying. I dont regret this one. I just wish they would bring back an updated Ghost Recon or Island Thunder titel....now that was awsome controlling two teams and be able to switch to any of the characters. Loved that one and want another...
Gets an A for effort... at least they tried     On: 2008-04-08

I was fairly excited to play Vegas 2 online. At first, the game was exciting, but after a while of play, the faults of the game were just too obvious. This is without a doubt one of the most frustrating games to play online. The blame lies in both the developers and the players. Ill explain the problems further below.

List of my likes and dislikes:

* Customization of your character is fun and exciting. No two players online will be the same. On top of that, you can make custom faces (i.e. your own face) to put in the game. I havent tried this feature, but just the thought of being able to do so is thrilling. You can customize everything from clothing, armor, and camouflage. A big plus to the developers on this one.

* You unlock new weapons by going through the A.C.E.S. I forgot what it stands for, but Ill explain what it does. The ACES is divided into three categories: Marksman, Assault, and CQC. You add points to each categories based on how you score a kill. After so many points, you gain a level (up to 20 levels per category) within the category and you can either get a new weapon or more experiences toward your overall rank. I thought this was a pretty cool idea, but some of the weapons within each category make no sense. For example, in the Assault category, you mainly score points by using explosives, but yet the weapons within the category have nothing to do with explosives.

* Finding a match online is just flat out frustrating. The lag is nearly unbearable. It seems like the host needs a very good connection in order to host large amount of players. Indeed, the developers cant control this, but Im guessing they could at least minimize the lag by sending smaller packets.

* You will get kicked and banned a lot in this game. I dont know why too. It just seems like every other game I go in results in me getting kicked or banned. I have a mic, and I usually dont talk.

* Small maps and same respawn points. Im assuming the developers made the maps so that you play one round then load another map. The problem is most game hosts use unlimited respawns, which sometimes cause losing teams to be stuck at their own spawn point and unable to get out of it while the other team sits and wait for you to come out of your spawn point. You do get a 5 second shield, which makes you invincible for about 5 seconds when you first respawn. Problem is some people are clever enough to wait outside of the spawn point near a door such that your 5 second shield is gone. I would have loved the game if the developers made it smart enough to respawn at another location on the map once the other team overrun the current position.

* Some guns look unrealistic. For example the 92FS looks like it has a huge hole in the center. Other ones look funny enough to me. I thought I was using a supersoaker when I first saw the M468.

Overall, I liked the game. But the flaw of the respawn system and the constant kicking and banning and the unbearable lag makes the game not worthy enough for me to play online. Please dont purchase for the full price. Wait until it becomes 19.99 and get it then. The price and content just dont go together. You pay too much for something that seems broken.

R6V2     On: 2008-04-07

I got this game a few weeks ago and i love it! The gameplay is awesome though the story is short the guns amour and online make up for it.
If you like tactail action then buy this!

Good work Ubisoft!
ok, but not great     On: 2008-04-07

The graphics look very cartoonish compared with COD4, however the sound is great with surround sound. Nice to have terrist hunt co-op with split screen.
The Perfect Shooter?     On: 2008-04-06

Ill keep it short and sweet, this game isnt the perfect shooter. This is just R6V1, With a shiny new cover, some unimpressive features, and without Las Vegas. The game lags in key battles, The guns and armor are almost all identical, and the guns are the same, with a couple (3-5 maybe) new additions. If your a Gamer, please pass on this game and rent it for a cheap thrill, if you like being bored after 1-2 weeks, or if you like to promote sub-par games, so we keep getting junk games to play buy away! Bottom line, the game could have been good, maybe great, but it was just thrown out to sell quantity, and not quality, dont be fooled. Thanks!
Slow and disappointing     On: 2008-04-06

I love FPS games and was expecting more from R6V2. The story mode consists of a team mode and single player mode. In the first few chapters, you have two computerized companions who obey your commands (most of the time). You have to tell them to "Stack Up" at every door which becomes tiresome pretty quickly. Then all of a sudden, its solo time. Thats when it really goes down hill fast. My character has the heaviest and strongest body armor and caries to LMGs -- which is more than adeqaute for most situations (except maybe sniping). Since its a game, I not too worried about the over-penetration of bullets that the game warns you about (LOL). Anyway, my tank player is slow to say the least but he should be bullet resistant. Not so in R6V2, he dies consistantly with one shot. Go ahead and walk into a room with 3 "terrorists" and see how long you last.

My other comments are related to gameplay. First of all if any real action occurs (like youre shooting somebody who is shooting at you) the game gets jerky and skips for a few seconds (WTF?). Secondly, it takes forever to reload from a checkpoint after you get killed (easily 10-15 seconds). And lastly, the checkpoints are really far appart (like every half an hour if you do everything right). If Ive been down the same set of stairs 10 times killed 15 terrorists 10 times, I dont really want to do it next time I respawn.

When the opening credits ran and I saw Unreal Technologies, I new instantly I was in for a disappointment since Unreal Tournament 3 was such a let down too. I hate to say I told you so -- but I told you so.

In my opinion, Call of Duty IV is the the best FPS game ever made - Period. End.
A Frustrating "Suck" Game     On: 2008-04-06

Never buy anything made by "Ubisoft". R6V2 is a frustrating game that has no rewards, poor artwork, and no help. In other words, a typical "Ubisoft" game. I cant believe "Tom Clancy" underwrote this game. He must have made some "bad investments" and needed the money, or maybe he is going "senile".
The bottom line: Save Your Money. Buy something else. Anything else. Popcorn. Muffler bearings. Hats for your cats. Anything but this game.
Write this on a rock: Never buy anything made by "Ubisoft". You might as well just throw your money down the toilet and flush with great vigor.
This game is frustratingly "stupid". If I could have given it "no stars" I would have. First thing in the morning Im going to load the R6V2 disc into the "clay pigeon" trap and launch it across the creek. Let the Coyotes treat it like the "limp rabbit" that it is. Good riddance.
fun but just another FPS     On: 2008-04-05

this i pretty much like any other tom clancys game. great graphics and control. it uses the same unreal engine that so many FPS are using.
Tons of fun, until...     On: 2008-04-03

This game cruises along nicely and is a lot of fun, until you get to the oil refinery level where they take your teammates away and give the bad guys super human powers of observation and the ability to kill you when you are not even in their line of sight. At this point the game totally bogs down and after a few hours of constant dying all of your neighbors will know what you think of this game because you will be screaming at your T.V. about how bad this game sucks.
ITS VAGAS BABIE!!!1     On: 2008-04-03

alls I gots to say about this game is that its VAGAS BABY VAGAS BABY! This shooter is a first purson shooter (and then but sometime its a 3th person shooter but well get to that l8r) and i dont even have to tell you that it take place in VAGAS BABY!!! (you know, like in the olden times there was this movie about these 2 boys, and one of them boys kep on sayin VAGAS BABY VAGAS BABY!!!!!!!!! and the other one then start to say VAGAS BABY too and now a days when you talk about vagas you have to say VAGAS BABY because it cool and fresh and dope and ill even though its like a 12 year old saying it dont matter cuz everone who yells VAGAS BABY is totally cool and feels like a milion bucks because its a cool think to say) so thats what this game is about.

VAGAS BABY!!!!!

This game is not like gaylo or Calls from Duty 4 or nothing else. You are a member of the Rainbow Bright. You cant just run round in this game powning noobs and yellin out really smart comebacks like "youre MOM!" (which is the coolest comeback ever totally cuz when you say it your talking about someones MOM DUDE!!!!!!!!!

no in this game you gots to creepe real slow and get under some covers because the bad dudes are all shootin at you and they are good shoots too no fooling in only one shoot they will have shoot you dead. so be carful and go slowly and stay under the covers and ull be okay.

The graffiks are top nodch in this game even the smokes look real and the bad guys look real and they even say SWEARS like real bad guys would!!!! So dont let youre mom and dad hear them swears or its no more VAGAS BABY for you know what Im saying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game transperts you to famous VAGAS locations like a health club, a library, a wearhouse, a convention center, and even a house in Casta Rico. Now that;s VAGAS BABY!!!!! If youre a playa like me then you been to VAGAS BABY and you hung out at the library and the health club like Frank Sinata and Jerry Fallwell use to do cuz they old skooll!!!

The story in this game is typecal Tom Cruise story like the other games like Tom Cruise Ghost Recon and Tom Cruise GRAW, and Tom Cruise Splinner Sell. It got lots of tecnical words and Raidars and lazer pointers and maps and thats pretty much the whole story. You play as Bitchop who is a mean dude and plays by the rules and he been betrayed by some hipspanic guy who was also a Rainbow Bright. Then you (Bitchop) goes hunting down vazquez or diaz or whatever his name is and you chase him to Casta Rico which is the tropikal part of VEGAS and then you kill him and thats pretty much it.

I recommed this game because of it kicks a$$ and you can pown noobs and its totally not gayee and its VAGAS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!! What more can you say?

Game of the Year!     On: 2008-04-02

I love the new additions from RS:V and the new weapons. Best game on Xbox Live right now!
Much bias on a great game.     On: 2008-04-01

The only reason Im writing this is because, as usual, all the reviewers want to bash this game because CoD4 is "Sooo much better". Yes, CoD4 DOES have a well-done multiplayer, and yes, it DOES have somewhat good gameplay, but it is not without flaw and neither is this game.

I stayed over at my friends house this weekend and we went out and bought it on Saturday. We stayed up most of the night playing through the campaign, which wasnt very long. Typical with nearly all of todays games besides the MMOs and certain RPGs such as The Elder Scrolls. I found this a great improvement on R6V1, primarily because the story ended completely, the new experience system, and the ability to shoot through walls. Ill split this up for you to make it easier to understand:

Pros:
Overall I found the gameplay great, we had no known glitches occur (Besides one that happened within killing the VERY FIRST guard on the VERY FIRST level. My characters arm got stuck out at an odd angle where I was shooting my gun using only one hand. This had no real effect on the game though, and cleared up as soon as I died.) and there are lots of opportunities for cooperative play. This is great for people who prefer a more tactical type of gameplay. Youve got tons of options for attack, I prefer a silencer and headshots. Although, I did find the enemy a bit tougher and more resistant to damage than you are and that your characters always died much easier than in the original, but you can get used to that and it helps you play better as a whole. What a lot of people dont get is the emphasis this game puts on silent, precise attacks and not just charging into a room, guns blazing, and expecting everything within sight to die or explode. I also found the character customization options very versatile, as far as equipment and clothes go. The facial options arent very wide, but that doesnt really matter if youre wearing a balaclava or goggles.

CONS:
Okay, most the reviews Ive seen have put this game down simply because "CoD4 is better". That is NOT a con. I will not say this game is bad because another is simply better in most peoples opinion. I will, however, say whats bad about it in its own way.

If youre used to playing the original, youll notice that the enemies have suddenly become A LOT stronger. And that your own characters have become A LOT weaker. The armors dont affect anything much, my friend was wearing no armor, a tank top, and the cargo pants and he died just as hard as me and I had on the Goliath complete armor. I didnt really see the use in the protection and mobility aspect because they dont really do anything. Sniping is also a bit annoying, I snipe a lot, and I found the lack of semi-automatic rifles difficult. I hate it when you miss that precise first shot and have to zoom out and chamber another round with the bolt actions that seem to dominate your options for long range rifles. The ability to shoot through walls was a bit of a double-sided Pro/Con. Occasionally the enemy will shoot you on cover because it was made of wood, or thin metal, or whatever. Its not that they shouldnt be able to and that you should, its just that they shoot too precise when they shouldnt be able to see you at all. The game itself may be a con for some people as well, because its not a shootem-up-bangem-up game. This is NOT a Halo or TimeSplitters where the object of the game is to bunny hop as much as you can and throw grenades or unload your ammo as fast as possible. You have to sneak and use cover more often than actually shooing or running.

Overall, I enjoyed this game a lot, especially the ending because it cleared up loose ends and had a massive firefight. There are some moments *cough*attackhelicopter*cough* when it seems a little unfair or the FPS slows down a lot, but those can be looked over. I had fun with it and Im sure a lot of over people will too.
Dissapointment in Vegas     On: 2008-04-01

Finally a game where I think that the cover gimmick is perfect and the game is over in the blink of an eye. Clearly this game is just a dressed up online PvP game with a single player mode to provide some training. Just to be clear, fun game, good mechanics, nice level complexity. Co-Op is great as you can invite a friend to join your single player campaign on the fly. The downside is the AI and campaign. Once you figure out the AI its easy on hard which a game should never be. The story is paper thin and the end scene is stolen from CoD4. If you have a choice pick up CoD4!. If you are a die hard FPS and Rainbow fan then this is a must. All others, I think 60 bones could be better used elsewhere.
What a let down     On: 2008-03-31

I had high expectations for this game after playing call of duty, what happened. The characters move extremely slow with or without body armor. It seems as though a lot of the maps have just been redone from the first one. Hardly anything seems new in the game. I played it for a couple of days and sold it. I am back to playing call of duty now.
The most original game of the year     On: 2008-03-31

Uninspired graphics and useless teammates. The only good thing about this game is being able to customize your character (offline). The ranking system to unlock new weapons and armor is nice too, though Im pretty sure its been done before.
Did I just play a game?     On: 2008-03-30

My word how short this game was. In the space of a weekend it was already beat. I was a little disappointing that I paid for this game instead of renting it from gamefly. Replayability is ok, but not great. In several scenes it took a minute for all the polygons to render which I thought took away from the realism of the game.

If youve been playing CoD3 as much as I have, getting used to a different button layout can take some getting used to. I grenaded my team more then once (or myself) by accident. But, you quickly pick up the layout of the buttons and get into the action. The story moves along briskly, perhaps too briskly, and the story unfolds at a rapid clip. As is typical for a shooter, you dont do much besides shoot. Your lackeys (I mean teammates) do most of the work and you stand around and/or shoot people.

One other quirk, when you first meet the hispanic woman whose family and friends is being held hostage, do you think they could have made her stay out of your way more? I tried to crouch behind the wall and shoot around the corner and she was so close to me I couldnt because of some glitch. Very annoying.

So, would I recommend this game? Sure, but I wouldnt pay $60 for it. Id rent it and return it. Its not that good and its not worth $60.
Wait on this one!     On: 2008-03-29

Ahh! I expected more from this game! Yes, is fun but it does not worth the $59.00 Game play has little new to offer and Multiplayer is a way below COD4. wait until it drops price or you can get it used at a lower price at Amazon.
garbage     On: 2008-03-29

do not spend the gas money or the time buying or playing this game garbage
You got another thing coming     On: 2008-03-28

First off, I only played the single player version. I cant speak for the online game.

Compared to R6V1 the graphics and physics are improved at the cost of performance. There is some annoying lag in graphics-heavy scenes. Otherwise its nothing dramatically new. You have to take Tangos down, break out the rope, make your mates hustle, enter doors, etc.

The biggest downer for me compared to R6V1 is that while in the latter I had the feeling of being immersed in a movie-like story, having to find Irena with a somewhat surprising plot unfolding, R6V2 made me ask myself "so why am I here again?". Not so good either is that the game crashed on me once, enforcing a reboot. My team mates several times became uncontrollable. I told them to fall in on me, they answered with "yes captain", but they stayed in their spot. Trying to make them go to a specific location had no effect either. I had to walk back to them, try sending them to a close-by location several times until they finally moved, and then they would follow me again. That problem, however, I also observed with R6V1, only not so frequently. It seems to me frankly the developers tried to implement many good, new AI, physics, and graphics features but were forced to release the game prematurely without enough time for testing to get rid of all the bugs.

The beginning acts and scenes of the game were easy. Then it got to the point of being killed a lot. This and what I said above led me to quit playing without finishing, simply due to having lost interest. That only happened once to me before.

I had looked forward to this game very much and frankly found it a disappointing sequel to a good thing.

Reminds me of how much fun FPS can be     On: 2008-03-28

I tried this game shortly after it came out, shortly after I had finished the first RSV, and didnt like it at all. It crashed on me, there was a lot of annoying lag, I found it a disappointing follow-up, and the AI seemed to lack the I.

Almost a year later I picked it up again and loved it.

Good:
You have to think. It is a tactical shooter, and you cant just run in the open and shoot around.
Graphics, sound, music, animations, characters, weapons, and the controls are excellent.
The game is quite realistic in terms of gameplay and current standards of game physics.
I havent had this much fun with an FPS in a while.
The game didnt crash on me this time around.

Criticism:
There are many scenes, not only when there is smoke, where lag is rather noticeable. It didnt bother me that much though. Its something you have to be able to ignore.
The story seems compelling but especially upon completion I feel it is a little thin. I can still enjoy the game for the games sake.
The single player is relatively short. It seems longer because in some scenes you die a lot until you figure out a strategy, but one can finish this game in a few days.

If you liked the first RSV and can deal with a follow-up that has similarities (could be boring for some) yet also differences (could be disappointing for some) then you should be able to enjoy this.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2     On: 2008-03-28

This game takes the shooter to a new level. Allowing you to rank up while playing the missions is great. Why dont all shooters do this. The new maps are great. I only miss LVU.
Not COD 4, but it's okay     On: 2008-03-28

Ill be honest, I read the reviews on this game before purchasing it; and did so with doubts in my mind. I am stationed overseas and just bought the PS3 the other day, our exchange is severly lacking in video game department so I bought R6V2 just for something to do until my COD4 gets here from Amazon. First, let me say that it isnt as bad as some people have written. I havent played the story mode the whole way through because I mostly play online, but it seems okay from what Ive seen. The grafics are very nice and the controls seem to work reasonably well with the game (could be better). As my reviews title says, this is no COD4! This game is fun to play online, but I wasnt terribly impressed. Very glichy, if you catch my drift. Also, Im not sure if its my internet connection or the game but, playing online I get this awful repeating noise that lasts an entire battle. No, its not someones machine gun shooting me. So, if anyone knows how to solve that problem and wouldnt mind sharing the knowledge, Id really appreciate it.
Fun game     On: 2008-03-28

if you love the rainbow six trilogys youll love this one, a little slow, and its only 720p witch was very disapointing, but overall a good game. what really sucks is the 30 minutes I had to wait for the PS3 to download updates for the game, then another 15 min for the game to upload...ya that kinda Sucks!!
Disappointing     On: 2008-03-28

Sadly, this game does not live up to the first Vegas at all. Perhaps, if this had come out a year ago, it would have seemed like a great game. But for todays games, it is just sub-par.

The graphics are improved over Vegas 1, so that is one of the few pluses to the game. The other really good feature is that you can create a character and play as that character in every mode. Truly a cool feature that I hope more games will use. However, the SP mode is fairly boring and visually blah. There are also frame rate issues that crop up on a couple of levels in the SP mode. The way the story is wrapped up felt cheap and made the entire story less meaningful.

But really, most of us got R6V2 for the MP. And that is what makes it most disappointing. Because the MP guts what was great about the first Vegas. The levels are far too small. In the original, it was easy to go 20 minutes on an Attack and Defend. In the newer levels, 5 minutes seems to be the average. Because of the size of the levels, the tactical aspect has been lost too. There are very few places to duck down and defend a room from. Instead, youre mostly either standing and waiting, or running and shooting wildly inaccurate weapons at each other until one of you dies. This is really the biggest letdown for me. I was looking for more of the same in MP and instead, it is not enjoyable at all. Add to that the poor matchmaking and lag and its just not a fun experience. Its not the worst game by any means, but it doesnt live up to the first Vegas at all.
A single player point of view     On: 2008-03-28

Let me start by saying that I primarily played this game as a single player. I do not play online or co-op all that often.

As a single player campaign the game is great. I am playing through on the Realistic setting and it is a good challenge. There have been a few times where I get bogged down in an area and I have to replay it a few times until I get past it, but I enjoy that.

A few new perks to the game include the ability to shoot through cover, sprinting, enhanced AI (more flanking attempts, more aggresive when the terrorists have an advantage), better teammates (they actually can hit something they aim at!, they can throw grenades)and, more grenades (5 instead of 3) to name a few.

The Terrorist Hunt Mode has a few improvements for it as well. You can now bring your teammates with you and the terrorists are a lot more aggressive. On the Kill House board I never had to move from the first room to beat the board, they kept coming to me.

The experience point system is new to the game as well. It is an interesting way to unlock the weapons and gear but the scoring system seems to have a small flaw. There are three categories, Marksmen, CQB and Assault. You can only get points in one category. If you kill someone from distance with a headshot from behind, you will only get credit for one of the feats not all three. That however would be my only complaint about this game. It is a great game and I recommend it to any person that enjoys a FPS.
XBOX Live has destroyed the single player experience.     On: 2008-03-27

I bought this game yesterday. I played on and off since then, between classes and a few hours at night, and then this afternoon... until I finished it. In less than 8 hours. Are you serious???! XBOX Lives popularity seems to have single handedly killed the single player game. I dont use XBOX Live. I dont need a 60 dollar paperweight. Dont buy this if youre expecting an immersive, detailed single player experience. The continuation of the story from the first Vegas is nearly unexistant. This isnt to say that the gameplay isnt fantastic, but when it ends so abruptly, youd be disappointed too!

I am a HUGE fan of the first game and this game really let me down. If you havent played the first Vegas yet, get that instead. You dont lose out on much from the "improvements" in R6V2, and the story was much better and longer.
Online servers are fixed...     On: 2008-03-27

Do not judge this game base don the bad reviews for the servers... When the game was released the servers were horrible, however as of about 6-7 hours ago they have been fixed and everything online runs fine... It is just a matter of whether or not you like the game play... It is a very similar game to RB6V1 like the other poster said, so if you liked rb6v then you will probably like this...

But the main thing to remember is online is fine now, dont judge it on that anymore...
One step forward, one step back     On: 2008-03-26

This game made some improvements over the last Vegas. I cant stress enough how much i hated being required to play with people to advance in PEC, and thankfully, theyve done away with that.

Im also an enemy of any game that forces you into a character, so I like how this one uses what ever you make.

However, at the same time, they took Rainbow Six Vegas worst problem, and made it even worse. Terrorists spawning at point blank range with shotguns. That alone pretty much negates all forward progress this games made, in my eyes.
Cool Game, Poor Performance 3.5 Stars     On: 2008-03-26

Ive had it since it came out; Im playing it right now. I have upgraded Road Runner high speed, COD4 looks and runs awesome in my house. This game lags in SINGLE PLAYER MODE offline!!! The frame rate is awful and it took me forever just to find where to even PLAY online and when I found it it seems you can only play in small 2-4 player coop matches? I may be mistaken but I tried even THAT and after 5 unsuccessful attempts at joining a match I gave up. This game is okay in single player mode, I think the the graphics lack compared to COD4 (Compare the detail in the rifle you carry for example)

I borrowed my friends EYE TOY and put my actual face on my R6V2 character....very cool. However, after playing this all day and switching to COD4, its like a fresh glass of lemonade...Makes me not want to play this game but the storyline and sequence are mildly entertaining. Personally I will play this game until I beat it or get stuck, after which point I will trade it in towards a future game....the next SOCOM perhaps? Already put down for GTA4..... :)
Right up there with Call of Duty 4     On: 2008-03-25

Ive been playing Call of Duty 4 for a long time now and that game was downright the best game of all time on any system. I love shooters and military games and this game vegas 2 is right up there with any of them.

There are some negatives:
1. slow down when too much action is in play
2. difficulty of game is pretty challenging
3. Cant play 4 player co-op split screen like COD 4

After getting this out of the way, the game is spectacular, the graphics are very nice, the speed is just right - not a run and gun like COD 4 more realistic and the sounds are authentic. I love hearing the clicking of loading a clip or hearing the grenades explode - so realistic! Also, the looking around the corners and shooting is so fun. Unlike COD 4 you can play co-op with a friend offline and this is really the best part of the game in campaign or terrorist hunt.

Finally, Ive been looking for a game that reminds me of my alltime favorite PC game Counterstrike and this is it! Just picture counterstrike with much better graphics and sounds and even more realism and thats what VEgas Six 2 is......counterstrike affectionaidos rejoice!

Not Extremely Impressed     On: 2008-03-25

After playing RSV and beating it within a week, I was anxious to get my hands on RSV2, thinking that the challenges that faced me in it would be greater, the excitement higher. While I like the changes that they made to the game (the ability to personalize your character), the other things that are lacking make that one change pale.
After RSV being based soley in Vegas casino drive, I expected the second one to be based in the Vegas casinos as well; however, there is only one scene in the game that actually occurs in a casino. You dont even realize that you are continuing from the first game until nearly the end of the game. The screenplay/script lacks....RSV you had an idea of why you were doing what you were doing....RSV2 doesnt really put any excitement into it.
All in all, the game wasnt too difficult to play. I bought it on Wednesday and completed it on Sunday (not playing it for more than a few hours here and there). Im glad I bought it because I got to give Gabriel what he deserved, but other than that, I wasnt impressed.
Enjoyable/Interesting Features     On: 2008-03-25

to start: this game took a while to load. It might have seemed even longer to me, because when I got it on the 24th of March PSN also released a Systems Update. So I had to wait for that to download/install. I started the game. RB6V2 had a patch (1.10). So I had to wait for that to download/install (this one was short). After that the game had to install itself. This took about as long as the Sys Update. It was just kind of ironic since I was anxious to get started.

RB6V2 is a good sequel. I had tried out the first, and it was just ok. The sequel is more enjoyable in my opinion. The ranking system and the new ACES system that allows for you to gain XP and weapons based on your style of play is a nice / welcome touch.

Within a couple of levels I noticed my "Marksman" and "CQB" XP rose very quickly as opposed to my "Assault" XP. So it depends on your personal style of play. Tag a headshot on a guy through a window while repelling will earn you points toward Marksman, while chucking a grenade into a room will get you well on your way towards the next Assault tier. And every other level rewards you with another weapon; while the Ranking system (total XP) seems to be more geared towards personalizing your character.
I especially liked this feature, and am looking forward to unlocking some features later in the game. Just remember that while outfitting your character, certain camo-styles are NOT appropriate for all terrain/situations!
(Kinda like Corky Romano, Brick: "Nice tie." Corky: "Thanks!" Brick: "It should give some lucky sniper a nice target to aim for.")

I also like how you can play through Single-Player (or Co-Op) to gain XP, which can be used Online as well. CoD4 had a similar system, but XP was only gained for ranks, and could only be gained online.
Heh... speaking of which, unfortunately it took me a second or two to get used to the controls after playing CoD4, the L1 is now "Cover" as opposed to the Weapon Scope, which is R3. Made for a couple "interesting" firefights when I first started.

ehhh.....     On: 2008-03-25

This is it? Nothing new on this one really. Is it just me or does this game lag a little bit during tense moments? Not worth 60 dollars if you ask me.
Awesome Game!!!     On: 2008-03-25

All together, the game is awesome. The only thing I didnt like is that the story was too short.. Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2 are the best games out.

Way better then halo...WAY WAY Better!
An amazing advancement for the series.     On: 2008-03-25

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is an extremely polished game that you can tell has a higher amount of thought put in their multiplayer levels. There are a million different strategies for each map and they all have their chance to work. The multiplayer modes are also very well done with the introduction of the Team Leader game type that is hours of fun and great for clan matches.

As for the Single-player... well it is much better than the first rainbow. There is two-player co-op and the A.I. on both sides is pretty damn intelligent. The best part of the game as a whole is that the rank for the character is increased from anything you play in the game. The game is all one but split up experience, Everything you play will increase your rank, but all the modes are quite drastically different.
R6V2 vs. COD4 vs. R6V1 and all the other reviews     On: 2008-03-24

Experience: I started with Tom Clancys Ghost Recon then Rainbow 6 then Rainbow Six Vegas for XBOX360. They were the games I played all year. (I did play Halo 1,2,& 3, Gears of War, FEAR, Half-Life but preferred R6)

COD4: Call of Duty 4 is the first game that took me away for the Rainbow 6 series. So,I was excited about R6V2, thinking how they were going to improve the previous game R6V and beat COD4! They didnt.

Why COD4 is better than R6V2:
As with EVERY review on here, I agree, COD4 beats R6V2 hands down. R6V2 felt like I put in the first R6V. After playing COD4, the R6V2 felt very slow. If you notice... anyone comparing COD4 to R6V2 prefers COD4. The people I personally know playing R6V2 are the one that never bought COD4.
I basically played single player and multiplayer for a couple of hours each and then put the game back, listed it online for sale, and put back in COD4. The entire time I felt "Why am I playing this game (R6V2) when I have a better one (COD4)?"

One reason to buy R6V2
Here is the one reason to buy R6V2. If you want to play co-op with a buddy or terroist hunt with 2-4 players. Everything else COD4 is a better experience.

COD4 -
1. Has a matching system so you play in a room right away.
2. Lets you continue to play in the same room.
3. Lets you bring friends with you to play matches.
4. Lets you set private matches and control diffrent aspects of the game.
5. Has different modes so you can play games like R6V2 search and destroy hardcore (no respawing and one shot kills) to Halo type games with lots of shots to kill, pickups and super jumps (old school mode). Normally it is a good blend of one to three shots for a kill.

I know I missed a lot, but my recomendation is COD4 and save the money till a better game comes out.

Excellent Sequel     On: 2008-03-24

This quick sequel to R6V is great; it offers more of the same (a good thing), but the devs listened to some criticism from the first game and it plays out much better. In my opinion, the story missions are way better than the first game - its shorter (the co-op campaign can be completed in under 5 hours), but its a more intense affair. The locales are decidedly different than the first, which provides some tactical variety. The co-op is second to none due to the actual cooperative elements in the environments (multiple entry points, cover tactics). The only thing dragging this game down is the crappy matchmaking. Whay arent we using a party system yet?!? The multi is a blast to play, with tight, choke-point centric maps, but having to search for every game and then play with random people in a sparsely populated map half of the time is unforgiveable. If you have a buddy to play co-op with, this game is a must-buy for action fans.
Disappointing...     On: 2008-03-24

The single player game is good. However if you are expecting a multiplayer experience similar to that of the first Vegas you will be disappointed. New match rules have been added to atack and defend games like a two respawn limit and a special attack and defend match where you disarm the bomb. Respawn limits take the fun out of the game because they literally stop you from playing. The matches end quickly, unlike the A&D matches from Vegas 1 that were played literally until the last seconds of a 20 minute match. And, if I wanted to play a "disarm the bomb" match then I would just play Call of Duty 4. Dont know what they were thinking when they made this one. My advice - stick to the original Vegas and dont spend the extra $60.
Complete Tactical Shooter     On: 2008-03-24

Everything the first lacked (crisp graphics, ability to sprint, permeable environment, many new guns, sweet co-op options, and smarter ai; enemy and ally.) money well spent.
Very Disappointed     On: 2008-03-23

My hot girlfriend and I loved playing the co-op portion of the first Rainbow Six Vegas. We both were very excited to hear that a sequel would be coming out. We pre-ordered the game, picked it up and started playing it the day it came out. Much to our disappointment, the game lacked the intensity and fun of the original. The first Rainbow Six Vegas had many levels at night and in very cool scenes in Vegas. The second game was almost always during the day, and the maps of the levels kinda sucked. The scenes in this one were very boring and plain. The mapping reminded me of the original Rainbow Six or Rogue Spear games from ten years ago. Many of the levels were overly repetitive and there was much backtracking through levels we had already completed. Rainbow Six Vegas was fun and kept your interest no matter how hard or frustrating it was.

The graphics are a little better, and the game play is about the same. Some little new improvements like your rank going up the further you get into the game and ordering other members to clear a room is pretty cool. Sound it good, but I heard tiny little clicks or pops from time to time. The game has its up sides; it is quite more real than the first one, but over-all, it really really lacked the fun and life that the first one achieved.

Multiplayer online is pretty cool. I died within the first 30 seconds, but still pretty neat. The non-story, co-op terrorist hunts were pretty fun and somehow the graphics looked better in terrorist hunt than in the actual game.

My biggest gripe is the game is really really short, and the ending sucks. My chick and I finished it in four days only playing a few hours a day.

All in all, I was immensely disappointed, but it had its good parts. If I could do it all over again, I would just rent it from Blockbuster and save my sixty bucks.

Vegas 2?? Where is Las Vegas?     On: 2008-03-23

Were supposed to believe that this is a sequel to RSV1, and all of the advertisements show the casinos, etc. However, only one Act of this game is based in the traditional "Las Vegas"-style setting. Most of this game is based on standard office buildings, high-rises, etc, with none of the glitz and glamour that the original Vegas offered. I got this game on Thursday and was done with the single player missions w/in 8 hours. Definitely a short game, because they want you to play online.

Not a real improvement from the first one.
SUB-PAR for the course     On: 2008-03-23

First off, a little background info so you know where i am coming from...

I AM:

1. an average joe
2. a casual xbox live gamer who spends less than 10-12 hours a week playing games.
3. a HUGE fan of the Rainbow Six series for the past 10 years and have played them all.

STORY MODE REVIEW

Pro: graphics have improved from the first one. not an incredible difference but noticeable.

Con: framerate is still low (Im guessing like 30fps) and when you pan to the side to aim quickly it can become a hindrance.

Con: framerate drops during some parts of the game.

Pro: there are less menus to sift through.

Pro: you can create your own protagonist and play him/her offline and online in both story/t-hunt and multiplayer.

The PEC is integrated into the front page as it is the central base station of the vegas experience.

Pro: you get a xp bonus if you are a returning Elite which puts you at specialist rank with a few unlocks like flight helmet and ballistic mask.

Con: I did not get the achievement for skipping Private First Class rank.

Pro: the first level is cool, set in a snowy mountain setting. Why couldnt they have this kind of environment for a multiplayer map?

Pro: Im liking the location settings much better in this version than vegas 1.

Pro: although still a "linear story scripting" experience, you are provided with multiple entry points, and a few options of how to take down a room. at least more so than vegas 1, and even more so than Black Arrow.

Con: the girl in the chopper has to spell it out for you though. You dont really need to think for yourself. She basically tells you all the options rather than having you figure it out with your team.

Example, there is one level you are in the rec center which is quite large. You need to go from area to area and clear each section. But you have a couple ways to do this. There is one part that you can go up to the roof and snipe through the skylight and have your team clear the bottom floors. Or you can enter from the 2nd floor, or the first floor. There are at least 4-5 different ways to take this section down. But the helicopter lady basically tells you outright what you should do.

Pro: they removed the on-screen radar in story mode and replaced it with "temporary thermal scan".

The way it works is you can trigger it when it comes online and it will scan the room for a few seconds, giving thermal signatures on the mini radar map. When it is all used up you have to wait some time before it comes online again.

Con: I actually find the thermal scan kind of a useless feature and i almost never use it.

Con: Incompetent teammates return with their running out in the open, getting shot and getting you killed trying to medic them all over again. Not much improvement in the player AI despite what Ubi claims. 80% of the time I leave them behind.

Con: enemy AI still has some problems such as standing out in the open while getting shot at, or sometimes they run towards you and stop right in front of you (if you dont shoot them) and just fire like a zombie rather than return fire defensively. I have yet to see enemies cover their movement as they advance to your position like advertised.

Pro: weapon attachment settings are saved and "remembered" each time you play.

Pro: in the first 3 chapters of the game so far, ive gotten healthy use out of my SR25SD rifle as enemies seem to spawn further out. Combined with large scale and open locales, makes for pretty good long range shooting.

TERRORIST HUNT REVIEW

Pro: its still fun to play for the most part with 4 friends messing around.

Con: same old same old... enemies still spawn out of thin air in front or behind you.

Con: really cheap AI that actually use the cover glitch against you.

Con: enemy Ai has not improved, as they still get stuck behind objects, run up to your face spraying P90 or magic Spas12 rather than cover their movements.

Con: still has a glitch where you "cant find last terrorist".

MULTIPLAYER ADVERSARIAL REVIEW

Pro: Team Leader mode is a good addition.

Con: They shouldnt have sacrificed VIP in its stead.

Con: Im having serious connecivity issues that many others are experiencing. I cant host games most of the time because sometimes no one can see or join my server. Also cant join any one elses server even when invited. This alone would be a deal-breaker for me.

Con: framerate drops even in MP (different from internet lag). The graphics slow down to a crawl (mostly happens when too many grenades explode).

Con: freezing and lockups. I have experienced quite a bit of game freezing.

Con: dubious amount of bugs and glitches. Most of the Vegas 1 glitches have returned unfixed.

Pro: multiplayer graphics are much better than they were in vegas 1. Now the MP and SP graphics are are a little more similar.

Con: lag and host advantage are still issues to the same degree as vegas 1 maybe even worse.

Pro: shooting through objects is a MUCH welcome addition to this game.

Con: COVER GLITCH 100% intact. In case you do not know what the cover glitch is, it is when someone takes cover behind an object that conceals his entire body from his enemy and he is able to freely shoot through the cover without ever exposing his body. Even with bullet penetration, you still cannot shoot back at a cover glitcher when he is behind "safe cover".

Con: shouldering aka perspective glitch aka cornering glitch still 100% intact. Shouldering is when a player is shooting very close the the corner of a wall and only a fraction of his body is visible to his opponent, usually just an elbow. Different from Cover Glitch in that this is done in first person not while in cover mode.

Pro: aiming penalty when popping out of cover is a welcome addition.

Con: "dotting screen" or "vision menu cheating" is still effective despite the penalty.

Con: radar toggle is individual option, not host option. Makes NO SENSE whatsoever.

Con: still lacks BASIC server toggles for many aspects of the game.

Pro: they kept the running speed of players slow, and even with the addition of sprint, this game is not hyper paced like many other shooters.

Pro: custom faces load quicker

BOTTOM LINE:

The graphics fall below par for the course as COD4 really set the standards quite high. This game lacks originality. All the gameplay elements are not new innovations. They are gameplay elements taken from existing games and implemented into this one. There is nothing innovative about this game. The best thing Vegas 2 has going for it is the ability to create a custom character with custom face and play it both online and off. I personally do not care for ACES or ranking up, or unlocking weapons, so none of those "features" impress me.

The story mode is short and lacks depth. This game has absolutely no replayability since the story mode is so linear (there is only one way to play it) and the online is non-functional and bug-ridden.

This game is not realistic IN ANY WAY. If you are a fan of the older Rainbow games, you already know this game wont offer anything for you as it is nothing like the first 3 titles (in a bad way). But then again many returning Vegas fans are very disappointed with this title as well.

This game has serious issues that need to be addressed, mostly crippled in the online multiplayer department. It is virtually unplayable. It is apparent to me that this game was rushed out the door with minimal testing. I feel this is not worth the $60 price tag and I honestly regret buying it. I will be getting rid of my game and going back to COD4.

Disappointing - Seriously     On: 2008-03-23

Just bought the game, and this was the worste 60 dollars spent. Graphics are nothing to brag about. Gameplay is nothing special, feels like I am playing a game that game out years ago. Tom Clancy needs to step his game up. I will be returning this game to EB Games ASAP. COD4 for the win.
Do Not Buy!!!
Very Disappointing, Especially If You Have COD4     On: 2008-03-22

This game is a huge letdown. The graphics, while good compared to most games, are not in the same league as COD4. The game, at least the online play, is not nearly as smooth as COD4, close combat is awkward, and the game is just lacking. The graphics lack the refinements, small movements and details that COD4 has. Im prob going to play for a few more days and just sell the game. Its not nearly as fun as COD4, and the camping, cheapness, etc. that existed in the first Rainbow Six, continue on in this game.
Unimpressed with the NEW R6     On: 2008-03-22

First the good
-The game has some cool new weapons and armor.
-Cool new features like getting points for your character in single player story mode.
-Sprinting has saved me a couple times..
-It is a fun game to play in single player story mode, its a bit harder than the first and you need a more tactical approach to the levels in this one.

Now the not so good
-Mainly the graphics! They REALLY disappointed me. They are sub-par for a game thats been in production for 2 years and it looks like not much has changed since the first one. The environments look blocky and unrefined! I was really bummed about this!!
-There are a few irritating bugs, like frame-rate drops for no apparent reason and some team AI quirks.
-The checkpoints in SP are horrible.
-Online play isnt comparable to other shooters, mainly COD4. Severe lag, short matches and is a nightmare to even get into an online match, for me at least.

My advise is if youre reading these reviews wait until the price drops or when you can pick it up used. In my opinion its not worth full price right now unless youre a fan of the series.
Tons on glitches and freezing     On: 2008-03-22

I bought this game on Tuesday and had several times where tha game has frozen to where my controller wont even shut down. I have also had alot of glitches where my teamates will jitter back and forth and not respond to where I send them. I have to go back to them, lead them to a different location with me and hope they dont freeze again. Wasted about 10 minutes getting them unstuck in the parking garage. I will be returning this one tomorrow. I think they ran out of things to do with this one.
Should be better     On: 2008-03-22

A fantastic follow-up to the best FPS in history. Halo 3, while it had a fantastic story, just isnt nearly as good as the Rainbow series in terms of gameplay. Ill start with the positives...

The weapons are fantastic. The way they shoot, the way they sound, and the way they look. They added a few new weapons, but Id have liked to see a lot more. In addition, only being able to put one attachment on is a little silly. If you put high cap magazines on, for example, you cant have a scope. Unrealistic to the point of being silly.

They allow us to once again play cooperatively via split screen, online, or system link. THANK YOU! So few devs are letting co-op play get the attention it deserves, and they wonder why their games dont sell.

The new leveling system is wonderful. In the first game, the only way you could unlock the cool looking gear was to play versus online. And guess what? Not everyone likes to do that. This version allows you to get all the experience either online in versus mode, or playing the Co-op story or terrorist hunt.

Wonderful multiplayer options. You have your story, of course, and terrorist hunt, which gives the game unlimited replayability. The new online modes are cool too, if youre into that.

A few "negatives" for the game. First, the difficulty. Some of the silly reviewers found it so difficult that they gave it only one or two stars. Apparently they felt it was just that bad. The game is certainly more difficult than the first game, it sort of has to be. It had to be balanced to allow multiple human players. So although it may be a bit tough on single player, it is perfect when you have your buddies playing with you.

The player customization feature is nice, but unusually limited. In addition, the facial features like facial hair--all look the same. The pictures look different, but when its mapped onto the actual character, they dont really look any different at all. The goatee version--doesnt even have a goatee, lol. This is a mild complaint, because with camo and gear on your head, you never see the face much.

Not a lot of new weapons. Some people may not like the new "kit" system, but I think its pretty nicely done overall.

In a way it does feel like an expansion, as there arent a lot of new features, but who cares? The first game was the best ever, and Im perfectly happy having a bunch of new levels to play. They did add the sprint button, which is nice as well.

The BIG problem with this game was one that they claimed to have fixed after the first game. The spawning problem. For those of you who dont know, it is not uncommon at all for terrorists to appear, as if by magic, right in front of you--or behind you, in a room you had just cleared. Instead of populating the map with terrorists at the beginning, they sprinkle them in throughout--there is really no excuse for this. It is lazy game design and purely irresponsible.

And their idea of "difficulty" levels is just as bad as everyone elses. Instead of the logical thing, throwing more enemies at you, they just take away half of your ammo and reduce the number of respawns. Again, lazy design. I would have liked to change my rating from five stars to only 4, or even 3.5.
Keep'em coming!     On: 2008-03-22

big time letdown     On: 2008-03-22

after achieving basically every challenge in Call of Duty 4 (COD4), i was looking for something new in RB6V2. while i did find something new, it was not for the better and I came to realize just how great COD4 is.

in my opinion, herere some of RB6V2 weaknesses: 1) basically ineffective shot-from-hip shots...COD4 got it right with their "stead-aim" perk; 2) no melee attack...absolutely unacceptable in a FPS; 3) unimpressive graphics...this is year 2008 for goodness sake; 4) cross-hairs disappear when player is moving...this just makes knowing the aim-point that much harder; 5) unrealistic grenade tosses...the grenade flies like cotton-candy for crying out loud!!; 6) smoke/flash grenades cartoonish...COD4 gets top marks for mimicking these effects; 7) undesirable upgrades...why the heck do i want to spend hours of my time just to get a different color undershirt that only gets covered up with my body armor?; 8) mandatory respawn time...news flash, i dont want to wait 10 sec watching teammates play the game! COD4 gets it right by allowing players to skip the respawn timeout; 9) kill-cam not standard...COD4 gets it right by always showing how a player gets killed while giving the player an option to skip the video if he desires; 10) low-degree of verisimilitude...COD4 is so realistic it could seriously be used as a trainer for infantry-men; 11) manual-intensive multiplayer...RB6V2 makes the same mistake as Gears of War by forcing the player to scroll through a laundry list of games with different hosts...in COD4 i could regularly jump into a game within 30 seconds; 12) cumbersome notification of kills...why the heck should i have to take my eyes of the center of the screen to read some small text that says I made a kill??

i could give more examples, but i dont have the time. if youre looking for the best FPS on the market, it aint here.
What a sequel should be!!!!     On: 2008-03-21

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is actually what a sequel should be. The graphics are better and so is the game play. If you liked Rainbow Six Vegas 1, you will love Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I know you cant please everyone, but Im sure the core Rainbow Six audience will be pleased.
Slight Improvements, But Mostly a $60 Map Pack...     On: 2008-03-21

IF youre a big fan of the first one you will no doubt like this game a lot. Its basically the same game with a few minor improvements. I was disappointed they chose Vegas again as the location. My buddys suggestion of DC would be cool as would many other locations (LA, NYC, etc). They even repackaged many of the multi-player maps. Like others have said, they added a run option, made the graphics slightly better, and allow you to shoot through weak cover (plywood, soft walls, etc).

All that being said I enjoy playing the game and dont regret the purchase. Just know going into it that youre paying for more of the same... Which isnt so bad considering how good the first one was.
Offers nothing new     On: 2008-03-21

The problem that "Rainbow Six: Vegas 2" faces is that it is faced again with reinventing the wheel. First person shooters are the staple of the current generation of consoles in much the same way as driving games were for the last generation. Moreover, last years hugely successful "Call Of Duty" iteration raised the bar for what gamers should expect from the conventional FPS. "RS:V2" delivers polished shooting action, throwing in the requisite online modes, but without really blowing the hinges off what we would expect from a FPS in 2008.
The new "Rainbow Six" generally sticks to the formula established by Ubisoft Montreal in the first outing. The squad-based Special Ops action will feel very familiar to anyone that has played that game or its stablemate "Ghost Recon" games. Graphically and sonically the sequel matches the first game, although additions such as a cover system and experience levelling set-up (where you gain points for different aspects of fighting) are welcome additions.
Although based in Sin City, the game often accents on the mundane warehouses and leisure complexes of Las Vegas, rather than vulgar casinos and the like. This is my first complaint about the game: it seems rather samey, and at least in the PlayStation 3 version, the backgrounds can seem a little sparse: grey abandoned warehouse segues to nondescript hotel complex, and so on, without there being anything really to capture the eye or the imagination. The game does not feel as cinematic, as much of an "event" as "CoD4". Similarly, the mundanity often stretches to your direction of the AI squad members: move to the closed door, open it, clear the room and then repeat. There is no real incentive to lead the charge from the front, especially as you often earn experience points from the squads action.
The squad AI can often be irritating, too. For instance, it is not uncommon for one of your "buddies" to block your line of fire, or stand in the middle of the war zone just waiting to be shot: often the squad will not respond to orders very quickly, either. I have also noticed that there is quite marked slowdown in some sections of the PS3 version of the game, which is pretty unforgivable in a current generation game and from a top developer such as Ubisoft, to boot.
On the plus side, "RS:V2" does provide plentiful reasons for immersion in the later stages of the game thanks to the experience levelling system: there seems to be some form of progression from playing through the game at point when you would otherwise feel ready to hang up your MP5 for the night. The online "Terrorist Hunt" mode, where you co-operate with other players online is a good idea, although I have often encountered connection problems trying to access this.
An overall assessment of the new "Rainbow Six" would be that it is a good enough game, which offers plenty of challenge. However, judged by the impressive yardstick of "CoD4" and the deluge of up-and-coming releases for the PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360, the game is not really individual or exceptional enough to warrant more than an extended rental play.

Not your average shooter     On: 2008-03-21

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is the best / most original shooter Ive played this year. There are so many FPSs coming out that are almost exactly the same - this offers gameplay that if far more real and strategic than anything else available on PS3 or 360 right now. Also offers better Co-op play and more refined controls than Army of Two.

If you played the original Rainbow Six Vegas on PS3 (it seemed a pretty rough port from 360) - the sequel is much more refined, has better graphics and far few glitches.
Better, longer, than original     On: 2008-03-21

If you liked the first game, youll definitely like the second. The core premise of the R6 Vegas games is relatively short, but white-hot gunfights in various locations. These can take place in large, open areas with lots of running; or strategic, carefully planned room takedowns where you have to worry about hostages. The AI is generally smart (and improved over the last game) and will flank you, or try to hide in dark corners. They will pop smoke grenades, use covering fire techniques, "leapfrog", and generally try to use wits as much as firepower. The locations of the game are also varied. You might have to sneak around a huge refinery, or you might have to escape a skyscraper before it blows up. It is a carefully plotted game, and very exciting, much like an action movie.

The frame-rate is very smooth, there are more levels in single-player, and the variety present in the online modes is astounding. The graphics probably wont blow you away, but this game is more about tactical choices than it is about eye-candy. The sound-effects are also top-notch, with guns and grenades actually sounding very realistic.

One interesting addition over the last game is the ability to customize your character for single-player and multi-player. There is a wide variety of faces (males and female), armor, camo patterns, and assorted gear. If you have a webcam or Eye Toy, you can put your own face on the character (its creepily realistic). Experience points, used to unlock gear and guns, is accumulated over both single-player and multi-player modes, so you wont feel like a "noob" when you enter an online match after completing the story mode.

One warning: As of 3/21/08, the online modes are having a little trouble. This is a server overload issue, not a problem with the game. It will probably be cleared up within the coming weeks.

If you like challenging, tactical shooters, you will no doubt like this game. Its not run-and-gun like Halo, and it is definitely a very hard game (two shots and youre dead, and the bad guys are very accurate!) There are also a few minor bugs here and there, but definitely nothing game-breaking. While the graphics could have used a little more polish, and Ubisoft could have anticipated the demand for online play a little better, its still a solid release, and might even take Call of Duty 4 out of your disc drive.
A shame from Ubisoft     On: 2008-03-21

Wow, it took me less than 18 h to beat this game... The AI is just bad, it reminds me of some of my first shooter 10-12 years ago!!! The control are clumsy, must be remapped, and the game crashed 4 time on my 360.... I am REALLY disapointed, RSV 1 was such a great game
What happens in Vegas... Must be finished!!     On: 2008-03-20

I got a copy of R6V2 last night and I have to say that I really welcome the only 4 new additions they implemented on this game in which are (character customation, Sprint - like COD4, co-op mission gameplay online, and online/offline rank up system.

I am a huge fan of Rainbow Six series and by far, I like this game a lot more than the first Vegas. Eventhough a lot of you might feel the game is basically just an expansion, for that reason alone is why I like it a lot better than the first. Being able to sprint was something I always wanted in a Rainbow six game, co-op mission gameplay with a buddy online is also something I really welcomed in this game, the ranking system in which is not limited to just online play is simply an incentive for playing this game. And last, but not least, I was able to use my 360 web cam to take a shot of my face and place it on the character................. yes, I know you were able to do this on the first Vegas,,,, but now it doesnt just limits for this to be just online, you can have an image of yourself on the character during the campaing as well.
To summarize, some of you might have expected a lot more, but as a Rainbow Six fan, I have to say that even if it did not change much from the previous one, the new additions fit well on the game, the graphics are a bit more polished and the game itself kicks arse. And to top it off, it runs as smooth as the first, if not better.
Stop complaining and go get this game. I tripple dare you..
vegas 2?     On: 2008-03-20

well after playing single player and multiplay i must say single player is better than the first but the multiplay falls flat. it seems as if they did nothing to make multiplayer better besides adding a run button.
this feels more like a map pack than a sequel.
the difficulty ruins the game     On: 2008-03-20

this is by far the hardest game i have ever played. I am about half way threw campaign and i have died atleast 100 times, playing on the easy difficulty! Other games like halo and call of duty i can beat easily on normal and with some difficulty on hard. I have decided to finish campaign just so i can feel like i got my moneys worth but the fustration it is bringing me is putting me on the verge of insanity. Stay very far away from this game!!!!!!

Im a little dissapointed on this new rsv2 .it seen to me that Im playing the first R six vegas again .I dont know ,the spring feature is cool and the new maps too,but for RS fans as me is not the game I was specting, still exellent game to play ,specially on line .I give this a 4 star for not been lot better than the original rsv. R six is been my favorites since they star .and still does. but call of duti 4 is the game to play for more years .
Rainbow Six Vegas, refined     On: 2008-03-20

RSV2 is every bit a refinement of the original. Being a Rainbow Six game it is challenging and you will die countless times having no idea who killed you or where the shot came from. RSV2 now has three difficulty settings but casual seems a bit more challenging than it was on the first RSV.

For all intents and purposes you are essentially paying a premium to play RSV with new levels and weapons, which isnt a bad thing perse, providing the refinements and changes do add and improve the game. Playing through the single player campaign the enemy AI may be slightly improved, it is much more aggressive, with enemies running at you like kamikaze warriors at times. The AI for your squad mates seems to be much worse than the original. It is adequate but could be much better, its surprising that the AI would take a step backward when the game is developed by the same studio that made the first. They will sometimes do very stupid things, like stand in the open and get shot, or run in front of your fire. Or the best, run in front of you as you throw a grenade, which means death for the whole team. They also tend to follow you very closely which can become a pain when you cant escape enemy rounds because your guys wont get out of the way.

The ability to sprint prevents a few grenade deaths, but doesnt take anything away from the tactical shooting aspect. So those fearing that RSV was moving too far towards the COD style need not worry. The new weapons are nice and the balance between the different types seems to be better. Terrorist hunt returns, this time with the ability to take your AI squad mates with you if you want. Of course the best part of terrorist hunt is the ability to play with for of your friend online and RSV2 doesnt disappoint. You are also able to play through the entire campaign with one friend online now, with the primary player also controlling the AI squad. I preferred the ability to play through it with four people online but Ubisoft didnt ask me.

The ability to customize your character in the campaign mode is a nice touch and you can show all off the cool gear you unlock in both campaign and multiplayer now. If you unlocked everything on the original RSV multiplayer you will see all the same items here, all ready to be unlocked again at almost the same ranks. The fact that you now gain experience in both campaign and online multiplayer is an excellent addition.

I am not too sure how found I am of the ACRES system, which is they system that unlocks your weapons bases on your style of play. I enjoyed the ability to be able to use any weapon on the campaign in the original and unlocking new weapons and gear on the online mode. The fact that you have to actively kill enemies in a certain manner to unlock a weapon you might really want seems a little unneeded to me.

I have found a few bugs on my game so far. I have put almost a hundred rounds into an enemy while blind firing around a corned and just watched him dance with the rounds, which is funny but not right. Every time I have then leaned out into the door and shot he would die instantly. Several times my weapon has disappeared and left me just walking around waiting to die. It always corrects itself when you reload your check point but its annoying. And speaking of annoying the checkpoint save system is terrible, you will spend a lot of time player through the same part of a level because the developers like to give you a really hard firefight just before a save point. Which means you might play through several tough firefights, then hit the hard one, die and have to do it all again. And as much as you die in any Rainbow Six game this can become very annoying.

The original RSV was the best tactical shooter available on the 360 and RSV2 does a great job of following it up. If you are new to the series RSV2 is a great place to start, and if you love the series you are going to pick it up anyway. A few people will be disappointed at having to pay full price for a not entirely new game. But most people should be quite happy with it. I recommend it highly.
Rainbow Six Vegas has an encore!     On: 2008-03-20

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 was well worth the wait. The graphics are much improved from the last edition with weapons, the operatives and the environment all getting an upgrade.

I will say that its disappointing that with COD4s outstanding graphics, games can not just pick up where COD4 left off, so it is a bit of a step back from COD4s graphics.

When you look at RBSV2 you can not try to compare the game itself with COD4 for some pretty obvious reasons. COD4 is a run and gun, weapons driven game with air strikes and helicopters. RSV2 is a tactical shooter with moments of intense stress on the heart (try terrorist hunt on realistic) and a game in which success relies on being patient and finding good positions to attack.

RSV2s maps are absolutely amazing. Graphically they still are quite pretty, but its the deep amount of routes and places to get up against that makes this game so successful. From a Theater to a Japanese Casino -- or even to a beautiful Villa by the beach, RSV2 delivers all sorts of environments to get your shooting pleasures fulfilled.

Another great feature to RSV2 is the ability to earn XP points towards new weapons and camo in single player mode or in Terrorist Hunt -- FANTASTIC! Better yet, in Terrorist Hunt your friends in the game earn you XP for their kills. Just yesterday I played this for an hour and ranked up faster than I would have if I played online for three hours.

Negatives? Well, my biggest complaint with RSV2 is the lack of a Melee system. The problem occurs when you are face to face with an enemy and you are both out of ammo and must reload. Rather than a quick slash with a nife, you have to switch weapons or reload and it can be rather frustrating. A Melee system would have been a great edition.

Grenades. The grenades system was poorly implemented and is tough to get the hang of. You must hold down the b button for some time to get any distance on the nade and if you dont get enough of an angle on the throw your man will simply flop the grenade about 5 feet (or less).

All in all, I havent put the game down since yesterday. It is a staple in my Xbox 360 until I get sick of it and want to go back to running and gunning on COD4. COD4 will not be dethroned as the best FPS on the 360, but RSV2 is by far the most thrilling and fun Tactical shooter on the 360 and if you like Tactical shooters better than the Halo/COD4 type game then this could possibly be the best game out on 360 for you right now.
R6V2 - Online Gamers Don't Waste Your Money!     On: 2008-03-20

I bought this game yesterday and went home to game online on the PS3 network.

The game booted fine but once gameplay started, that was it. Your solider "stutters" while walking like there is severe lag. (Its not my internet connection as I am running a T1) The graphics resemble that if a Nintendo 64 shooter game. They are not smooth but real grainy.

If you bought this game for the story mode, you will love it. Its just like the original R6V in storymode. Great graphics, sound and gameplay.

If you are an online gamer like I am, do not buy this poor piece of garbage!!!

With as powerful as the PS3 is I cannot imagine how UbiSoft could not take advantage of its first class hardware.

Perhaps I was expecting too much...     On: 2008-03-20

After playing this game for the past 5 hours, I must say that overall I am less than pleased. In my opinion, this would be better off as a $29.99 expansion pack to Vegas 1. There is not much new here to truly consider this a stand-alone sequel. Too much of it feels "carried over" from Vegas 1. Even some of the online terrorist elimination maps are identical. I do like the new leveling system, but thats about the biggest new feature on this game worth mentioning. If you loved Vegas 1, then you will obviously love this game, as it feels like a continuation of the original. As I stated in my title, I guess I was expecting more new features that would make this stand apart from the original.
Not quite the original, but still great     On: 2008-03-20

For those that have played the first RB6 Vegas and are wondering if this one stacks up to the original, the answer is yes. While there are some problems with this sequel, the game stays true to the original and adds some additional features as well. If you havent played the original then pay attention anyways.

For the sequel you can now play co-op story mode via split screen from the same console, but unfortunately you cant play a 4 player co-op on Live which sucks. Not sure why this was taken out, but you do get two useless computer characters to help you out if you want. The guns load faster, when using assault rifles the bullets dont "run" on you, and shooting and throwing grenades sound and look much more realistic. You also have the ability to run as in COD4, which is nice. The reward system (called ACES) is also an improvement as you can rank up through all the modes, whether youre on Live or not. Some of the levels were taken from previous RB6 games which to some will feel like a sham, but are actually quite nice and fitting to play on Live. The terrorist hunt this time around provides you with the ability to "respawn" twice. If you dont have Live, the single player mode still provides the Terrorist Hunt and gives you the option to play alone or with computerized teammates. There is also a new difficulty setting called "Casual" and the realistic difficulty certainly seems harder than the first game.

Now for the gripes: The graphics are not improved over the first game, and if youre used to playing Call of Duty you will be dissappointed with this. It truly doesnt feel like an HD game. Sometimes while having a close gunfight, the framerate will become VERY slow and the screen gets extremely pixelated.

To me this sequel feels like a sequel and does NOT feel like an expansion pack. You do get to finish the Vegas story, which does feel quite short, and the multiplayer is as good as any game Ive played (with the exception of the graphics). Many choose to compare RB6 Vegas to Call of Duty, but they truly are two different games. Vegas is a game that utilizes "teamwork" and communication to your other teammates is very key a lot of the time which is just plain "cool". Overall this game delivers and is worth the purchase for the online play alone.
No splitscreen in Multiplayer     On: 2008-03-20

Contrary to what the developers said about this game, it does not include an online splitscreen mode. You either play online or you play splitscreen. You can have multiple custom characters that can be used in splitscreen which is an improvement over the original rsv.

That is my only complaint thus far with the game. I was a huge fan of rainbow six vegas 1 and I think the maps and co-op story are way better in this version thus far.

Online function isnt as good as Halo, but is improved. Definitely a much better game than its original, so if you liked that, you will have a great time with this one.
No BS, just the truth     On: 2008-03-20

This game is fun, but as youre playing it, youll realize its a lot like the first Vegas. Youll have a feeing of "been there, done that" except that the first Vegas was intense.

Theres new improvements in RSV2, like a run button and the actual number of grenades and explosives your teammates are carrying.

The only real problems with RSV2 are ugly environments, AI sometimes acting strange, and lag. Sometimes the game gets so laggy that its literally choppy, especially when smoke is on screen.

Rent before you buy it. Its a good game, but it wont surprise you or feel like a must-have.

Good, but not Great     On: 2008-03-20

I must say, after hours of play, I am disappointed with the results. It feels a lot like RB6V (original)...I still love the game and love the series, but I found this game to be lacking as a sequel. I love the fact that you can sprint now. This is a big plus because the game feels like you are moving too slow sometimes. Going from COD4 back to RB6V feels awkward. Two totally different style of games here. Throwing grenades is a bit frustrating as it will only travel a few feet in front of you. I have also unloaded 2 clips of bullets at the enemy (sometimes) and they simply dont die. I went online to try the online play and it is severely lacking! Some maps are way too small! I do love the convention center though. The game had serious lag, most likely due to everyone signing on last night. It cleared itself up in the long run. The matches are entirely too short to the point of absurd. We played a match that literally lasted 30 seconds. It was unreal! After the match, you are forced to back out of the room and start from the menu again. It felt like a chore just to play online. The campaign is running smoothly and I would recommend this game only for that reason. The online play is totally frustrating and not worth the cash you pay for 360Live and the game itself. Even if you host a room and the match is over, you can only "quit game" or view stats from the match. Its ridiculous!!! I am so disappointed with the online play! I am hoping to have a good campaign to make it all worth while. In closing, I do like the actual game itself. Thats why I gave it 4 stars. But I would give the online play 1 star only! Call of Duty has my vote (online) and I thought I would never say that when up against RB6V!!!

The best FPS on the market thus far     On: 2008-03-19

As good as the first with excellent additions. I love this game and ANY fps fan will love it as well. Excellent play control, love the graphics and this time if you have a xbox live vision camera youre able to load a picture of yourself and play with that character in story mode without being online! My title says it all. The BEST FPS on the market thus far. Army of Two is about to collect dust. But to each their own. If youre not a FPS player then you should pass. Most people now these days find the smallest things to make a complaint or a reason why a game isnt good when overall they just may not be a good videogame player or that particular game just isnt for them. Theres a fact that there are players out there in denial about knowing how to play a game and blame the game instead of their skills. Theres plenty of shabby games that actually deserve bashing. Then you have companies who make good games but never really change too much. Rainbow Six falls in that category. If its not broke then dont fix it. Keep it going untill it gets old. "Nuff Said"
Sin City is back with a vengeance!     On: 2008-03-19

While the first installment of Rainbow Six Vegas flew under the radar the first few months it was out, the sequel has been eagerly anticipated by the large group of enthusiasts who swear by this franchise. Well here it is. This is not your average sequel! The folks at Ubisoft Montreal knew they had a good thing, and merely improved the game where they deemed fitting, and left alone what worked. New to this game is an experience system that encompasses EVERY game mode this time around, rather than just online multi player. A useful sprint command has been added to the game, which allows you to run faster in short bursts. The graphics are very similar to the first game, just a bit more crisp and refined. This game also still can boast the most realistic weapon physics of ANY fps out to date. Even if you have never played a Rainbow Six game before, RSV2 is a perfect place to start. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

good, great, awsome     On: 2008-03-19

A great game. The best FPS Ive played on any game console. Instead of adding 2 behind the first games title and releasing it as a sequal, this game vastly improves from the first version. Creating and customizing your character gives gamers a sense of individality. For example, you can don dozens of different camo, clothes, headgear, body armor, masks, etc. (unlocked with exp of course). Earning exp will keep gamers playing long after completing the story mode. Different categories (sharpshooter, CQB, and assult) of exp earned that unlocks different weapons will have gamers changing thier tactics. Even the menus have been changed for the better. But, I cant comment about the online play yet, for I havent played the game via internet. But, you can customize different kits to play online. Ive noticed that players can choose a radar, radar jammer, trip wire, gas masks, and gas as equipable items. Buy, buy, buy.
Expansion Pack?     On: 2008-03-19

True fans of the series will undoubtedly love this game for everything that it is. What is it? Its a lot of the same as the first Rainbow Six Vegas, with a few tweeks here and there. Graphically, its not really much of an improvement over the original. The textures and particle effects arent really anything to write home about, but thats not to say they are bad. Its just that next gen titles should meet a higher bar as time goes by. We do get to see the seedier side of Vegas in terms of strip clubs, back alleys, and the like. The gun play is still a lot of fun and challenging. The ability to customize your character is also a lot of fun. There are a whole host of different multiplayer options for you to choose from. I thought UT3 had a lot, but thats nothing compared to Vegas 2. Because there werent a lot of other improvements to this edition, it seems more like an expansion pack than a sequel. I would still recommend it.
Amazing     On: 2008-03-19

Just bought this dismorning...Never played the first but am a huge fan of Black Arrow and RS 3. As you know COD 4 is the big game to play on the 360/ps3/pc right now and I love that game..But there is just something about the RS series...Buy this if you like Online shooters....It rules!
The Best Game     On: 2008-03-18

Im going to be honest ive never played the rainbow six series and since all the reviews keep talking about how this game is still looking like the other ones before, im not going to sit here and tell you that you all are wrong so im just going to say what i think. For me this is the best game out there right now and no reviews that any one of you post its going to make change my mind, this game for me is a complete game there is nothing missing from single player and multiplayer even though im going to admit that i havent play it on-line but i think, i still think that is the best and specially if you are a splinter cell fan like i am.
